Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

Went to a Target yesterday. They had 4 copies of Ghost Squad on an end cap. Many of the tags on the shelf said the games were $29.99. None of the games had a price on them.

So I price checked Ghost Squad and it came up not found. I took it to the register and asked what the price was. The cashier scanned it and it came up not found. He looked confused and then looked around like a price list might drop from the sky at any moment.

So I said, "I read that it's been discontinued and it's $8." He looked at me and said, "Eight?" I said, "Yeah, well, 7.98."

He rang it up at $7.99 and I was on my way

This was the Target in Falls Church (Seven Corners) Virginia. They still had 3 on the shelf yesterday afternoon.

I picked a copy up today - 9.98. It was also in the 29.99 section, but when i scanned it, it came up 'item not found'. Was able to name a price and buy it!!!

Hmmmmmm.
LOTR:BFME shows up as not available in the locator and not available at newer stores while Overlord shows not available at all stores and I tried multiple zips from around the country.

I guess my chances of finding one of those is pretty slim.

The Target near me puts clearance stuff near the telephones across from the game section. I have no idea why they put them in the game section where people looking for games might find them.

Haven't been able to get on here much because of the holidays, but a few days ago I picked up two of the Activision Preview Wii DVDs for 66 cents each. However, this would be a HUGE YMMV, because it was "as is" because the plastic seal was in pieces. Very nice though, as I now have a nice white case for Wii Sports, but I am disappointed that it isn't an official Wii one, ie it doesn't say Wii on the inside(or is that only for 1st party games?). Also saw Tony Hawk's Proving Ground Special Edition(they made a SE?) for 360 for $29.90, but didn't pick it up.

ok I investigated the Ghost Squad situation at two targets in my area.

The first target in Fairlakes had two Ghost Squads in the front end cap next to electronics. One GS had no sticker on it, the other one had a somewhat similar *as is* sticker (but not as is labeled) with these numbers :416036256449
Both scanned in as not in the system. The big fat guy in electronics (you can't miss him) kept on giving me lip about the price even though he couldn't find it in the system and then he calls the pricing team lead over (Diana?) and she comes and checks it out and it would seem that Ghost Squad hasn't been inputted into the system, yet there is a tag for it at $29.99. They didn't want to sell me the red tag one and someone wrote charge back on it. The fat guy said it's probably tagged because it was broken, yet when I told him it was still factory sealed he then said "well I dunno".

I also brought to there attention a copy of PoP:RS for the Wii which is not coming up in the system. Her LRT is telling her on line only but still cannot pull up a price. She then punches in a few numbers and her portable printer spits out a bar code with a 7.xx price. So that was cool of her but she couldn't figure out how an online store item was in their inventory but not in the pricing system.

I then headed over to the Chantilly store. They found one copy of GS in the system and the guy (who was actually very helpful) went back and got it. Again I couldn't find the price with the store price scanners, so I asked the same guy and he checked it out and this time he found two numbers for it.
One was 207260127 for the store and online it was 241132461. Again he couldn't find a price for it until he found the tag for it at $29.99

Maybe corporate caught on to the pricing mishap and are slowly starting to fix it. I expect 29.99 to be the stickered price for my area for quite sometime.

Oh those two targets were pretty much picked clean of good stuff. Even the GRAW2 which was 2x.xx was gone. Plenty of Dragon Ball Z's for the Wii.

I'd inquire as to how corporate managed to buy stock of, keep track of said stock, and distribute said stock with certain allocations to each individual store, without it ever being in the system.

It looks like Ghost Squad is now part of an end cap display in black cardboard organizers at all three of the Targets closest to me here in Los Angeles. It is in the same mix as Sea Monsters and Arctic Tale. Also, there are some Xbox360 games like GRAW and Def Jam Icon in the same display. I saw Ghost Squad now has a shelf tag for $29.99. I suspect Overlord may be one of these $30 Xbox 360 games as I can't recall my local Targets ever having it in stock and I tried scanning the bar code today which I printed out and got Item Not Found at all three Targets.

My Targets in MI have nothing good. They had Ghost Squad, but they would not sell it to me as it was not in the system. Tony Hawk's galore for $29.xx

I did see one Untold Legends: Dark something for $12 .xx for PS3, but I passed....I wish I picked it up now as my PS3 collection is pitiful

Sorry about a couple of PC drop prices. They seemed irrelevant for the most part so I just figured I'd pass on the new percentage just in case.

I picked up DDR and used it as a price example to get 360 Tony Hawk Project 8 for the same price. THP8 didn't have a UPC sticker and it still rang up out of system. She even typed in the number and it still got nothing so I said I found it with the other 360 game and it was good enough for the cashier. Picked up at the same prices already reported:

Seems like they're stocking those endcaps with Madden 07 (7.48), EA's NCAA Basketball game, TH Project 8, and Splinter Cell DA. This store had no UPC sticker on SCDA and it was 7.48, but at stores with the UPC sticker it was OOS. And of course, Ghost Squad was OOS.

Scanned some UPC printouts:
All 360 Godfather still 19.98, Burnout Revenge still 7.48 and PS2 Burnout Dominator still 19.98. Accidentally scanned Kameo which I got for 7.48 ten months ago and it was still in the system at 7.48! Tony Hawk Proving Ground is still 29.90 here.

Ratatouille may be up for trade, but first in line is a CAG that hooked me up with some games and who has been looking for Ratatouille. After that, first come first serve.

Picked up Sony component video cable for PSP-2000 for $4.98. I actually own a fat PSP but bought it anyway in case I upgrade later on.

Nothing much in the way of clearance games except for a couple of sports game that nobody wants, and Lost Planet PC $7.48 and Strongholds PC $12.48.

Got Surf's Up for the 360 tonight for $12.48. Whoo-hoo!

I'm not sure WHY I got it, other than that I never see the games hit 75% off any more so I was so shocked that I had to get it . I mean, the kids might like it but usually I'd bite on a game like that at no more than a $7.48-type price. And I ended up selling quite a bit of those types of games just before Christmas to clear space since we were never going to play them (a lot of licensed kids Gamecube games seem to get quite a bit these days at least relative to other old games on the PS2 or Xbox). So I could see this sitting around until 2009 when I decided to sell it to make space - basically, I probably shouldn't have bought it .

Went with the wife to 2 Targets to look for Christmas items (got a $169 tree for $42) and wound up with the following:

Ghost Recon AW 2 (PC) $12.48
Lost Planet (PC) $7.48

I came yay close to biting the bullet on TH: Proving Ground (still at $29.50), but there were still plenty at both Target locations that I went to. Needless to say, I will be making a Monday morning run before work to check for a possible drop next week.

Also, I'm still on the fence regarding Lost Planet as I'm not sure if my PC is up to the test or not. I have a P4 3.2 w/Geforce 6800, but looking at the minimum specs, it looks a little daunting. *crosses fingers*

I found another clearance game I was interested in, and this was the second time that some scumbag had partially torn the seal and stole the disc out of the case. Both times, I realized what had happened because the case seemed too light. Now, if I had inadvertently purchased either title, I know I would have had a very difficult time convincing customer service that the disk was previously missing. No wonder they have most of the games locked up in the glass cases....

I passed on Meet The Robinsons (X360) for 9.98 and Da Vinci Code (XB) for $3.74 today. I want Ratatouille for $12.46.. i've checked targets in three different cities now.

I saw Ghost Squad today but it wasn't worth the trouble at all.

I e-mailed Target CS about the issue of the WoW: BC issue I had earlier in this thread. To my suprise, I received a response, not a canned response either, someone actually apologizing to me about the issue. That's insane. I really like Target.

They had Ghost Squad there as well, and I went to customer service and they went through a ton of effort but never got a different price than $29.99.

Let me know how it works out. I bought two of these when they were on clearance for $20... they weren't very responsive, and I'm actually thinking about returning them.

Checked my local store again and a couple of employees had price guns and were scanning all of the $29.99 end cap games, including Ghost Squad, which I was originally there for. Basically I think the price glitch was fixed.

No Overlord to speak of, however, I was listening to the manager talking over the radio and he said something about "grabbing some random games to put on clearance and fill up the shelf." I was immediately curious but he left for quite a long time, and so I didn't look like a stalker or like I'm casing the place, I left empty handed.

Any other luck with Overlord?
