Original Target Clearance Thread

Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to http://upcdata.info/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

Games that do not sell after being discounted are often donated to local Goodwills for sale at their retail stores, so check there when the clearance items dissappear.

This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.

As always-- YMMV

Example:

Philadelphia, PA Snyder Plaza
BigDirty's Wild Ride, XBox, $4.98

*Thanks to CheapyD and BigDirty for the info*

I was at Target the other night and found destroy all humans for ten dollars, if anybody wants one for that price go there.

Heh. Thanks to dinovelvet for lovingly pointing out that I need to look up more often. Anyway, I also found a large selection of $9.98-$14.98 at a local Cincy Target today, including Kingdom Hearts: CoM, Tales of Phantasi, Donkey Kong Country 2, Mario Party Advance & others.
DDR is been 30bucks.
This was the first time I had seen it for $30 with the pad.

I went to the Target farther from my house today and saw some of the same games as Tuesday, but many had different prices. Below is what I can remember.

NFL Street 2 (PSP) $14.98
Shaman King, Legacy of the Spirits: Sprinting Wolf (GBA) $13.98
Tales of Phantasia (GBA) $20.98
WarioWare Twisted (GBA) $20.98
Spiderman (X-box) $9.98
Mech Assault (X-box) $4.98
One of the Dave Mirra games (X-box) $9.98
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence guide $3.98
Harvest Moon - A Wonderful Life (GCN) $10.04
Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Protoman (GBA) $7.98
World Championship Poker (NDS) $10.98

I picked up "Mega Man Battle Network 5". I think that it may become the next game that I get into.

Nice they are finally clearancing out the DDR Extreme 2 bundles. I was waiting last year for the Extreme 1 bundles to clearance but I never saw them on clearance (yet they vanished from every Target it seems)

I remember picking up the Max 2 Bundle at Target around 2 years ago for $15.

Can anyone else confirm Mario Tennis for the GCN at that price?

I'd pick up Hulk at that price, but right now it's at $14 or $20 here. I almost grabbed yoshi for the GBA, but decided to wait for a further drop.
Can anyone else confirm Mario Tennis for the GCN at that price?
I'm gonna check it out after I hit up the gym.
my latest from Target (all for Xbox):

Destroy All Humans!, $4.98
Incredibles, $4.98
Jade Empire (regular edition), $4.98
Spider-man, $3.74
Awesome, my Target has a ton of DAH for my preferred system of choice (Xbox). Hopefully they're $4.98 at mine, they were still in the glass case last time I checked.

i just wish the dang thing was backward compatible on the 360, but while i'm wishing, i may as well wish for a million dollars. i haven't even opened my Indigo Prophecy or Psychonauts for the same reason. my DVD drive on the old Xbox went to turds so i'd rather not "fight" my way thru the load screens just to play.

They said the normal markdown day is Monday, so maybe the ones I saw are this coming Monday's markdowns.

I bought most of the ones I listed including Mario Tennis so those are indeed the prices.

Saw these yesterday at Target:

Juiced! (Xbox) $9.98
Forza Motorsports (Xbox) $9.98
Dragonball Z Budokai 3 (PS2) $9.98
Sonic Riders Guide $3.98

For some reason, Tales of Phantasia and Dr. Mario Puzzle League were still hanging at $20.98 at this same store even when scanned.

You can get a replacement drive for varying amounts of money. Or you can sell it, a lot of people will buy an Xbox with a broken DVD drive (myself being one of them).
Can anyone else confirm Mario Tennis for the GCN at that price?
Your best bet is to go and check, or call and ask if they have the game at your local Target, and for what price.

I have three to four Targets that are within driving distance and they each reduce games and other store merchandise differently. This is true across the country, if a game is on clearance at one store, it most likely will be on clearance at another. Just not necessarily for the same price.

I picked up Crime Stories for the PC for 9.98 yesterday. I'm not opening yet, as I hope it goes down cheaper, and then I can have the difference refunded.

Has anyone seen any Nancy Drew pc games marked down cheapy cheap? Don't laugh, I grew up reading Nancy Drew, and while the games aren't brilliant, they're still fun to play and solve.

I saw a few on clearence about 4 months ago, they was $2.48 each, but I passed on them.

That's because clearance items can be at different price levels at Target. All Target stores should have the same games on clearance but the prices can be different at each store (until all stores get the item to 75% off if any copies are left that that store)

does anybody have any extra Xbox S controllers from Target...i just came across a bare xbox and now i cant find the controllers at my local target:cry: ...i will buy or trade for them...just let me know

Picked up X-Men Legends II for the PC today for 9.98.

Also saw:
Tycoon City NY (PC) 9.98
The Incredibles (Xbox) 9.98
Dynasty Warriors Advance (GBA): 4.98
Mario Tennis Power Tour (GBA) 14.98
Doom 3 (PC) 13.98
Xbox 360 faceplates 9.98
Everquest Titanium (PC) 9.98
Auto Assault (PC) 9.98
SeaWorld Tycoon 2 (PC) 9.98

and a couple of weeks ago I got Spiderman (Xbox) for 3.47--may still be a few of those around.

Picked up:
Mario Tennis: Power Tour - $7.48
Warioware Twisted - $14.98

I would've waited on Warioware Twisted, but they only had one copy, and I've had a heck of a time finding a clearance price on it in my area.

Power Tour was 7.48 eh?
I'd really love that game at that price... I'll have to check. Thanks op.

Yep...and it's an awesome game at that price. Heck, any 1st-party Nintendo game is great at that price. It helps that I love the GBA, too. :)

I am not entirely sure if this is news to any of you or not, but I saw a lot of Strategy Guides on clearance at my local Target.

I got the Tekken 5 guide for $4.24
and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence guide for $3.98

I also saw the GTA: Liberty City Stories (PSP) guide, Call of Duty (not sure which), and a couple of others all for around $4.. I didn't get the exact prices on those though.

Sadly, I had no luck with Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat though.. I did get a copy of Mr Driller: Drill Spirits for $4.98 though. Yay!

Some places for Warioware twisted (9.99 or less ) - Gamerush/Blockbuster or Sears.

i gathered these awhile back.. everytime someone would post i would add to the list, most of these games i cant find any more so i have no use for this list. but i will share it with everyone.. lets just hope we could keep a list next time, just add games to the other persons list (even without putting the prices). sorry, no pc games are on this list, so dont rant, make your own list :)

Yeah, I tried both of those...there are no Gamerush stores in my area, none of the Blockbusters do much in terms of game sales, and Sears didn't have it. Damn retailers. :p

one problem i had with the list...a few weeks ago i saw a lone copy of Infected in the case that was never there before so i knew it had been on clearance and asked for a price check...the guy checked it on his handheld scanner and came back with a $39.99 or $29.99 price (forget which one)...which surprised me a bit...dont know what happened there but just figured id share it

I've ALWAYS said we should have a month by month list. As most Target games don't stay on clearance for more than 2 months.

Anyway, grabbed the following today:

Dynasty Warriors - GBA - $4.98
EVO: Capcom Fighting Evolution - ps2 - $4.98

Saw these too:
Shrek 2 - GC - $4.98
THUG 2 - GC/Xbox - $9.98
Mega Man Battle Network 5 - GBA - $7.48
King of Fighters: MI - $7.48
Tales of Phantasia - GBA - unmarked, rang up $20.98 :(

and there were actually a few more that I can no longer recall them

This was all in Marshfield, WI
