As much as I would like for that to happen... My guess is that, if what Kishimoto says is true, Yamato will die just because it'll make for a better dramatic element. Killing the guy who can control the Fox's chakra as Naruto summons more tails = berserk fox Naruto with no fail-safe. Plus, IMO the series puts an emphasis on the newer generation... which is why Gaara didn't die (Chiyo instead), Chouji didn't die (Kakashi chose to sacrifice himself... c'mon, who would chose Chouji over Kakashi, seriously?), Jiraiya sacrificed himself to help Naruto/Konoha/new generation, and I don't think Hinata is dead or Sai will die... just because of this.
Unfortunately I agree, I just don't like how that makes the current generation bulletproof. But Yamato makes an even more obvious choice because i'm sure Madara wouldn't be too thrilled to learn the only warrior he ever respected got a watered down clone like that. Still hoping for Sai.
You read it yet, J. Crew? It's like 50 fucking pages long. It says the next chapter will be in, like, May. :|
Just finished that 1st volume now. And it seems like they've just demolished all the 'high schoolers' already. :applause: So it'll be more of the same - humiliate the 'older' guys while they one-up each other w/ moves that belong better in SFIV. But, since I'm a sucker for this kinda stuff I know that May can't get here soon enough. :bomb:

I really, really want some high schoolers to show up and kick Ryoma's, Tezuka's, and Yukimura's ass. They've been on their high pedestal for too long. Someone needs to punch them in the groin and put them in their places.

I agree. But Sanada needs to be there too - that smug bastich.

I just finished Baccano!

Definitely one of the best anime I've ever seen (maybe even the best?). I'm just blown away by how entertaining it was. Simultaneously filled with horrific violence and gut-busting hilarious moments. God these are the times I'm glad I watch anime.

You missed Atobe :)

Naruto manga thoughts :
Hinata dodged that bullet and lives to gush another day..... or will she? BTW am I going crazy or did Naruto's blast actually hit a sizable chunk of what was left of the still standing part of the village ? I don't see that going over well later. Also interesting that the Kyuubu's power was sealed off by Yamato off panel , I always wondered if he took the offer but it was never said.

Bleach manga thoughts
So Ulquiorra freakin used bankai , if he was so damn powerful why not become number 1 himself?

Ya, I thought he took a part of the village as well

This fight needs to progress now, it is dragging on way too long

Make sure to watch the three OVA episodes.

Claymore Manga 89 thoughts
Well that was.......weird. Isley gets eaten by zombies and killed off. No grand final battle for him, just eaten like a downed Zebra.
Does anyone else have Viz's volume 1 of Slam Dunk? There are a couple of completely blank pages in the beginning with the color pages, and I'm not sure if there are panels missing or not.
I don't have any blank pages in mine.

I think it's to show
how relentless & persistent the Abyssal Feeders are and to actually make a genuine threat to the Abyssal Ones and Priscilla.

No arguments there,it just caught me off guard that one of the major powers got taken out in such an undignified manner. I still fully expect Priscilla to just take out entire groups at a time so they don't accumulate experience though.

Just watched the first episode of Kannazuki No Miko. The music score is wonderful. The animation is nice and fluid. And there is good dose of lesbianism and fan service. Plus it has mechs. The english dubs voices seem really well done.

Wow.

I bought Arcade Gmaer Fubuki as a blind buy. I've only seen the first episode, but it has one of the most absurd premises for a show I have seen. I teenaged girl, wanting to be the best gamer in Japan, who gets her world-class gaming skills from her magical "Passion Panties".

I honestly don't know what else to say until I finish this other than WTF.

Well, i just read the last couple pages, but everything's basically in spoiler quotes so it's hard to follow wtf is going on.

AAnyway, i'm not normally on here, but i just finished Basilisk and thought it was really good, so i figured i'd tell people that might actually care (or not).

I'm also watching My-HiME, and next up is one everyone seems to love, but i never actually watched it: Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I couldn't get into Air...I remember getting to the puppet guy and some stuff with him and it just seemed so slow and boring.

So I finished up Claymore and thought it was straight dope. I hope they continue the anime someday.

I'm currently watching Haibane Renmei and it was a slow starter, but it has gotten pretty good. I'm not sure how it's going to end and if the end will be any good.

Yeah you really should finish it.

I thought Yukito was the best character in the show. I was hooked from the beginning; I felt that the pacing of the show was set up in such a way that made you want to continue watching.

Ending spoilers:
I was sad to see Yukito leave. He imbued his life into the puppet and became reincarnated into a crow. At first I was just extremely confused on why he just disappeared, but I figured out that he was able to be around Misuzu without affecting her since he became a crow.

Then Misuzu died, which was really sad too; I was hoping that the curse would be broken and that she could live a normal life, but that was not the case. I am assuming that the curse is broken, but it was only broken for the two kids on the beach which seem to be the reincarnations of Kanna/Misuzu and Ryuya/Yukito—or at least it has the potential to finally be broken since this Ryuya/Yukito reincarnation has the memories from the crow.

Oh, the opening song for Air is amazing.
I watched the first few episodes of Samurai 7 on Blu-Ray yesterday, Anime+HD = awesome.
I wonder if/when more anime series will be showing up on Blu-Ray.

If anyone here watches Shippuuden and hasn't found a good subber. I recommend Taka, they also have it in 480p and 720p. Couple days later but worth it and they do a pretty good job.

Unless you *need* karaoke for some reason, there's no reason not to go with HorribleSubs on day one.

Nah karaoke isn't my thing. I'll check them out. I didn't know where to go since DB stopped so Taka and another one popped up when I was doing a search. I was more impressed with Taka then they other. Also being 360 compatible, I didn't have to convert the video.

Quicky: Are Horrible subs 360 compatible? and are the 720p/1080p noticeably different or are they upconverts from 480p?
I wonder if/when more anime series will be showing up on Blu-Ray.
I think funimation is making a strong push with blu-ray releases. I had an insert that came with Samurai 7 listing all of the anime that they were going to release on blu-ray, and there was a decent amount.

What's wrong with the legal subs? No reason not to use theirs unless you really hate the industry.

I don't like the font and the way they put lines on top of each other when they can clearly fit it on one line. Also Anime on a computer screen isn't for me. I like my Anime on my 47" TV.

I heard Valkyria Chronicles is getting its own anime series. I'm excited for it because I don't have a PS3 and can't enjoy the game by itself.

I got Spirited Away in from Netflix today and I just finished watching it not too long ago. The only other movie from Miyazaki that I have seen is Princess Mononoke. Spirited Away was amazing; easily one of my favorite movies of all time. I loved it so much that I just ordered the DVD from Amazon.

If you have not seen Spirited Away then I implore you to do so. The movie was beautiful; it had a touching story and an amazingly imaginative world filled with really interesting characters. Sorry if I sound too vague, but I did not want to spoil any of the magic for people that have not seen the movie yet.

Next up is Air the movie since I loved the TV show so much.

I just finished watching Baccano! again. Definitely my new all-time favorite.

As mentioned earlier, the three OVAs are mandatory, bringing the total episode count to 16.

I've never rewatched something I just finished. I could probably watch this again right now from the beginning and not be bored. I can't recommend this show enough.

Anyone seen Toaru Majutsu no Index? I've seen a couple of episodes and just wondering if it gets better later. Also has anyone seen Shugo Chara? I watched one episode but it seemed a tad too girly for my taste.

Also how is Gundam 00 S2? I stopped at ep 7 IIRC.

HorribleSubs actually seem to live up to their name with Shippuuden. (Some of their word choices are, in fact, horrible.)

I still choose 'em because they're quick. At least they have a better proofreader than DB did, that's for sure.

Er, no? HorribleSubs isn't really a fansubbing group - they rip their subs straight from Crunchyroll, which has been supplied with official subs from Viz. When the DVDs eventually come along, those are the exact same subs you're going to get. And there's not a damn thing wrong with them, either.

Whatever subs I have been watching have been saying "Zoinks!" and other random shit like that, and I really do not believe that's a good translation.

yeah they do suck and because of that i had to find a new place to download shippuden which thankfully there are many and better. that freakin underscore shit they do is annoying too.

Well, if you've got a tv-out on your computer, you can still view them on your tv (assuming it's not that old). I stream the crunchyroll eps. straight into my hd tv from my laptop and while it's not completely hd-quality, it's decent for what it is.

Why is Viz giving Crunchyroll the official subs?

Oh and I would take the quality of Viz over any fansub any day. Companies like them Square Enix understand being a slave to literal translations just doesn't work.

Because they're smart and realize that if they don't give people a legit, free option, fan subbers are going to do it any ways.

By releasing free subs, Viz is expanding the market for their scarce goods--collectibles, DVDs, and other merchandise.

Well I suppose Hollow Ichigo will make his return now that Ichigo screwed up and got himself killed. Was always wondering how long before he got the instant regeneration he had before, maybe now he'll finally know how to use cero

Could still be Good Ichigo. Since Ulquiorra (sp?) showed him there's another stage to being an Espada (Resurreccion) which no one knows about except those present, Ichigo might just copycat him. It wouldn't be the 1st time he did that in a short time. Remember, he became a Shinigami the instant Rukia stabbed him, learned Bankai in a few days (or was it 24 hrs?), and learned how to be hold his Vizard form in a few days (seriously, it's difficult to tell the flow of time in manga since they release it on a weekly basis). With the knowledge that there is another level of power to attain, I wouldn't put it past Ichigo to level up because he has no other choice.

I do have my PC hooked up to my TV DVI > HDMI, Only thing is that I prefer the sound coming out of the TV instead of the computer speakers. Either way, I like keeping the episodes in my collection incase I want to watch it in the future, or my internet mysteriously shuts off.

I do watch Hulu like that sometimes when I miss shows.

I completely forgot this but as a friend pointed out Ichigo didn't get control over his mask until after Ulquiorra stabbed him the first time. So going off the theory he is becoming some sort of power sponge when it comes to hollows i'm thinking yeah the next stage is pretty likely. Or at least something further along into hollow territory. I try not to think about how much time is going by, assuming everything goes back to normal one day I imagine Ichigo and company will all be drop outs since they never go to school. Or is Kon doing all the school work?
