The "Alberto Del Rio" Wrestling Thread
Undertaker/Kane up next. I'm going to guess that Kane steamrolls Taker and it ultimately leads to a match at Hell In A Cell.
That wouldn't surprise me, having seen the HitC poster.

I'd agree that's probably what will happen.

I think Miz WILL get the big belt tonight if he does cash it in because otherwise he would lose ALL of the momentum and heel credibility he's built up over the last several months if he cashes in and loses. The WWE title match tonight is shaping up to be an all-out war and would be the perfect chance for a successful MITB cash-in.

I saw this promo today and it made me realize just how unkind the last nine years have been to Ric Flair's "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!". Just look at how powerful it was back in 2001 compared to now.
nice.. taker coming out first
I honestly have no idea how WWE decides who comes out first.

It seems like a dice roll.

I am glad that 'Taker come out first. Kane is, after all, World Heavyweight champion.

Edit: Undertaker is in great shape for his age and size.
They've been unkind to his hair, as well. That was 9 years ago, but he looks 20 years younger.
You're absolutely right. It looks like he went from mid-to-late-40's to mid-to-late-60's in under 9 years. It's nuts.
I honestly don't care what team gets it, but I think they should move the titles off Hart Dynasty.
Wish granted.

Yeah and I have to amend my statement. I do care, dear god not the Usos. Maybe put them on Cody Rhodes and whats his face.

 at the Hart Dynasty getting eliminated by their first opponents.

Edit: Mark Henry-Matt Sydal is such a weird pairing.
Thanks Anvil :D
Hahaha...probably. :whistle2:#

Lawler, regarding the team of Sydal and Henry: "It's not like they're just a tossed together team..."

And the only thing weirder than the team of Air Kool-Aid, is Cody Rhodes not wearing knee pads.

I love Matt Striker's line regarding Rhodes-McIntyre. "Cody hates getting hit in the face, and Drew just hates everything."

I hope they do refer to them as "Dashingly Sinister." WWE tag teams lack names, and that's a fitting name.

Wade Barret winning could be a great way of getting a redesigned belt too. Get rid of the current as it being a symbol of the old.

This video for the six pack challenge reminds me of the beginning of Turok 2.

Or, he could spray paint "nXt" on it.

I know this is a little off topic, but as I am watching this ppv it got me to thinking....

When Goldberg came to WWE, did they ever have him face Gillberg? Honestly that match would be funny as hell just for the goof of it.

Anyways back to the 6 pack elimination match. God bless free internet feeds^^

Here comes Lobster Head. ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh

+ I love WWE's video promos. It's quality work. The video packages for Michaels-Undertaker really added to the story.

+ I forgot about the height of Sheamus. He's a pretty tall fella. Barrett looks to actually be taller. Wowsers.

+ Lawler: "Youth must be served." Totally sounds like King's motto. :whistle2:#

+ Oh my god, Randy Orton actually showed personality in his introduction. Holy shit.

+ My want for an elimination order: Edge, Orton, Sheamus, Jericho, and lastly Cena. Cena-Barrett seems fitting.

Edit: fuck. Who did Jericho piss off to get this Matt Hardy-esque angle?

It's so sad that I fully expect WWE to totally waste this chance to get Barrett on top to give the damn title to Cena again.
I just hope they have them on both shows for once.
Or any show. The Harts were barely ever on Raw, and when they were, they didn't wrestle, or they lost.

Got a link from a friend at the start of the women's match. Good thing, too; the football game was a blowout. It's been decent so far.

EDIT: STOP CALLING IT THE AA, COLE!!!

I love Jericho, btu him being eliminated first makes the most sense. Him or Edge, who I love even more. 4 heels and 2 faces, and neither Sheamus nor Barrett could be the first out.

Cena gone!

Does Chase even watch WWE TV? He's talking about things not making sense when they've been part of TV angles for weeks (Bourne and Henry) or months (Rhodes without kneepads).

Orton wins; Miz cashes in. Fo'sho.
Ugh New Champ. This is just great.
Sheamus deserved a longer reign, but Orton is by far the most over wrestler on the roster and needed to capitalize with a title win. Besides, Taker will probably win at HIAC, so they gave it to Orton here.
That felt like the longest post-match celebration ever.
WWE probably wanted to tease us with the possibility of the Miz sneak-attacking Orton, and cashing-in his title shot. ;)

That, or they just wanted to fill time. :whistle2:#

Me and my friends in IRC were practically BEGGING for Miz to run out there.

I wish he did, too. :whistle2:( But it's only a matter of time until he wins. :)

I guess we'll see WWE toss Alex Riley at Bryan Danielson to feud over the U.S. title. :whistle2:k

Honestly, I wonder what the Miz will do and say tomorrow on Raw. I mean, he can't sound too saddened. He still has his Money In The Bank title shot.

Can't see them putting Miz in a Hell in A Cell match. I'm guessing we'll see something like Cena/Orton/Sheamus/Edge/??? (maybe Morrison) vs. Nexus in addition to Kane vs. Undertaker - Miz can cash in after the Raw main event there since presumably Orton will be suitably beat up.

the tags crack me up....because live events are not spoilers....

...though honestly i did think about just staying away from wrestling until i got off work tomorrow then downloading the PPV and finding out who won that way.

then again, i shouldn't have even entered this thread....
He made his return in Ft lauderdale 3 yrs ago

i was at that show.. :)

Didn't see the show but happy Daniel Bryan won the belt since Miz seemed to be rarely booked in title defenses and having the belt in a way just holds him down from going to the main event.Shouldn't be too much longer though until they unify the IC and US belts together though.

With Jericho gone who else will be willing to put over the younger talent :(?
Its about time Orton is champ again. :D
He actually showed a lot of emotion after winning. :) I definitely prefer that Randy Orton to the one WWE tried to make him. You know, that emotionless, Stone Cold Steve Austin-esque personality.

I agree with everything Punk said in his promo. People who live in Chicago are the worst. Although he should have ripped on the Cubs instead of the Sox because at least the Sox don't get creamed 18-3 or other ridiculously high scores.

It looked like Orton found HBK's smile at the end of his celebration there.

I just had a happy thought. Morrison gets in the HiaC match for the belt, and WINS it. Then, Miz cashes in and beats Morrison. :O

EDIT: Aren't we way over the 500-limit for a non-memorial thread?
