AI is better than half the players on there! They won't ever shoot you for one.
And they actually come get you if you're caught by a smoker or a hunter. But they will walk straight up to witches.
Yeah, are school is weird. We do Algebra 1 and 2 then geometry.
And apparently you haven't taken any grammar. ;)
I just get sick of all the current-gen games being too easy even on highest settings. You can make it harder on yourself by giving yourself limitations, but its nice when the game has stuff built in. Like the Halo skulls.

And star, if you're wanting to play L4D, TF2, etc. the source engine relies a lot on the CPU, not so much on the video card. So you can pretty easily play stuff like that if you have a c2d cpu and an entry level non-integrated gpu.
I thought Halo on legendary and GOW on insane were pretty tough , But maybe my gaming skills have gone down in recent years.:( I did a self challenge in Halo where I only used human weapons or only used covenant weapons. I also do/did plenty of self challenges in RPGs such as never leveling up or using minimal skills. I get what your getting at though.

As for my computer , I've got a Gateway laptop with Vista. I think that would be all that needs to be said. :(

MGS4 is fucking serious on Extreme. You get shot two or three times early on and you are dead. Not to mention they hunt you down like they are fucking bloodhounds.

If you can run vista you can probably run the source engine.

Played MGS4 on very easy

You have got to be shitting me. That ruins actually playing the game. You'd be better off watching someone else play at that point.

I kind of want to stay up and see what Amazon's deal is today, but I have to get up balls early. Do they pop up right after midnight most of the time?

I'll see if I can check my system settings , but when I asked a few months back in the PC forum about what quality games my laptop could run , they basically laughed at me and said I'd be lucky to get anything more recent then Warcraft 3 running on the thing with anything higher than low settings.

You're first mistake was that forum

Most PC games have "Benchmark" test programs you can run to see if the games will work. If you want to see what your computer can handle, download a couple different ones from different types of games (One RPG, one platform, one shooter), set them at the lowest setting and ramp them up to see how far you can push it. Just a thought, as I don't play PC games.

And recently, people put their PC questions here in off topic.

Just for you starmang, I will download TF2 onto my laptop which is fairly aging and see how it does to give me and you a reference point to work from.
You can PM crystalker64.
Well I didn't know that then.:bomb:

Here are the specs of the laptop. I just pulled up the original thread when I had asked about that did a copypasta.
And recently, people put their PC questions here in off topic.
I haven't been actively around off-topic until recently.

If theres any other info you need besides what I posted above , I can double check it.

1.6mhz pentium M
512mb ram
ati radeon 9000 mobility

is mine, which I think is worse than yours in everything except maybe the integrated gpu. I don't know much about integrated stuff, so I'll look some of that stuff up.

Crystal isn't the only one here that knows anyhting about 'puters.:nottalking:

Just guesstimating, but i'd say that'd run source games, maybe not with extreme settings, but run it at least.

If you want to learn something for yourself, check this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA#GMA_950

Basically, your intergrated graphics has no hardware vertex shaders. If you scroll down to the chart you can see that you have about the second worst possible gpu. This means your CPU will be eating all that stuff. 1.6 for that is going to be a stretch. After seeing your specs, I'm actually really surprised you can run Vista. But hey, probably bodes well for you.
Steve Perry and Journey's new lead singer sound so goddamn like the same.
It is incredible, they made a good decision with him.

Heh , thats basically the same response I got in the previous thread. I don't know how it runs Vista myself , but it was pre-installed on it and its never given me any trouble (beyond the trouble that windows brings on its own).
lol?

I don't have high hopes for him after seeing that gpu.
CPU and memory are decent , i'm running XP though, less system resources being taken up.

Now here was you problem star! You didn't try it anyway! fuck popular opinion. Hell, fuck what I say even. Only way to know for 100% is to try it.

Like manthing the other day when I told him that he couldn't run 1920xwhatever hd stuff smoothly on his rig. I told him it wouldn't work without a nice CPU, but its not like I said why. I could be just making shit up! I wasn't and I could explain how I knew why, but he didn't seem to care : /

Doesn't hurt to try either way, have you tried just looking up the requirements for the game though?

These are the minimum requirements for L4D.

Disk Drive :
clear.gif
DVD Rom Drive
clear.gif
DirectX :
clear.gif
9.0c or 10
clear.gif
Hard Drive Space :
clear.gif
7.5 GB Free
clear.gif
Operating System :
clear.gif
Windows XP/Vista/Vista 64
clear.gif
Processor :
clear.gif
Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.4 GHz
clear.gif
RAM :
clear.gif
1 GB for XP/ 2 GB for Vista
clear.gif
Video Card :
clear.gif
128 MB (nVidia 7600, Pixel Shader 3.0 Support)

CPU might be a little underpowered, worth a try anyway.

Good point. That only works for games I actually have though. Doesn't do me much good to buy newer games if they may not even run. I have some stuff I bought through steam during some of their weekend deals , as well as some other games I've gotten from CAG and Goozex. Maybe I'll give some of them a try.

Here are a few PC games off hand that I have that were released in the last year or so.

Audiosurf
Devil May Cry 4
Multiwinia
Orange Box
Stalker
Warhammer 40k : Dawn of War

Without just testing them myself , what are the chances of any of these running? Might give me something to work with , collection wise.
I'd try Orange Box since that would give you a good idea of how source games will run on it.
Gotcha. I'll mess around with that tomorrow.

Needless to say, I was blown away when I read a credible rumor that Wombat's bosses were buying 1up and EGM might only have two issues left. :0(

Ah.

What the fuck is UGO? I've heard of them, but I have no idea who they are.

And if that's true, then fuck. I love EGM. I've been a subscriber since I was 12.

Seriously, EGM is in trouble, yet Gamepro continues to thrive (apparently)? That's the exact opposite of fair.
