The booking of the first half of the show was so goddamn stupid. X Title match wasn't particularly good and boy did Douglas ever get over that fear of heights quickly. 3D-Jesse was nothing. Could've done without Bubba's pre-match promo insulting Jesse's dead friend. Note to the writers of this shit - THE MAN IS ACTUALLY DEAD, you assholes. He's not just a

ing TV character. The knockouts title match was even dumber than the X Title match. TBP interference equaling a DQ and a title loss was fine "screw over the rotten heel" stuff before the match.
Then the match happened, some chick (probably Tara) comes out with a

ing motorcycle through the building, gets involved, and costs Madison the title despite them never showing that she was either Velvet or Lacey - THE ONLY TWO PEOPLE WHOSE INTERFERENCE WOULD HAVE LED TO A TITLE LOSS. Then Joe makes his big PPV return to team with Rob

ing Terry. I think he might've rather been kidnapped again than have this dude as his partner. The match itself was better than any other Rob Terry match due to the three other guys involved, who are incapable of having bad matches with each other.
Hernandez-Morgan continued Morgan's years-long streak of boring matches. The guy shows a spark in the ring once every so often and then whatever he builds up just seems to evaporate. Hernandez's cage dive wasn't nearly as good as the first time he did that spot in TNA. Him dropping Morgan twice with the Border Toss sure sucked. Hernandez diving through the cage looked cool. Didn't make much sense since he could've just opened the door, but it was at least memorable.
Flair-Lethal was easily Flair's best match in TNA. He looked to be in better shape here than any other match as well, although the hair on the top of his head is rapidly depleting. It's been pretty striking for a while, but now he's starting to really look like Hogan no matter how they shoot him - not even long shots are helping hide the impending baldness. Lethal was clearly having the time of his life out there doing Flair's stuff, and kudos to Ric for putting him over so perfectly. He gave Lethal everything he had tonight and let him beat him with his own move, then Lethal cried afterwards. This all felt like a huge deal, but I don't expect them to follow up on it well since they never do with him. Beats Angle, the then-current world champion, for the X Title on PPV - jobs right after. Wins the tag belts - loses them within a week.
The Guns and Beer Money continued the show's streak of one good match with a more exciting, but not more dramatic match. This was basically a fleshed out version of their stuff on Thursday's show, and I was fine with that. I could watch these teams feud for months and never get bored. They'd bring it on the mic and in the ring. The Guns FINALLY won the gold after a double pin swerve to build up the drama , and it worked. The Guns were very emotional following the win, so it came off as a huge deal. Here's to hoping they get a decent run with the title.
Angle-Pope was also good, but not as good as the previous two matches. It also didn't go very long, probably due to Angle being hurt. That one month break didn't seem to do him much good. Angle was rocking a new singlet that looked awesome, and Pope had some new metallic red gear as well. The match itself was a little too formulaic, and the crowd heat was killed by the faux-retirement stip since it gave away that Angle was going to win and that Pope was going to lose his big return match. That stip is really killing my excitement for this Angle deal.
The main event was a huge letdown from the previous three matches. It was four guys going through the motions. Jeff looked awful and nothing he did seemed to hit as it should've. RVD was RVD. Abyss was Abyss. Anderson was Anderson, and no one on Earth cared. There was no drama to the match at all and it didn't feel like a main event in any way other than star power. And somehow, Abyss was injured in a tower of doom spot THAT HE INITIATED. Doing a powerbomb hurt this man, but chairs won't do a thing. So Hogan should bring in Vader and his problem will be solved. Lethal-Flair was the real main event, and delivered in spades.
