The Black Cena Wrestling Thread

Crowd is eating out of Percy Watson's hand.

Dude is speaking at the pace of someone who just did an 8-ball by themselves though. Slow down and enunciate, dude.

It feels flat without "the world is watching".. especially since they keep touting how they're available in 845 billion homes weekly, which is more than the NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, TNA, CNN, TNT and TBS combined.

What I don't understand about WWE is when ideas fail and they don't acknowledge them, continuing to shove the persona/gimmick down the throat of the fans for what feels like years.

For instance:
1) X-Pac/X-Factor
2) Abraham Washington
3) Internet Raw GM

Let me be perfectly clear: nobody EVER bout a ticket for Abraham Washington. Thousands bought them in SPITE of Abraham Washington. But that shit went on for 6 months to a year or more, yes?

They did the same for Mark Henry.. it only took 14 years for the fans to cheer for him.

This NXT thing is played out already.

It's like every show for the past month has the same ending.

Never thought I'd say this, but I miss "Daniel Bryan."
Then replace those clips with moneymakers, not Freddy Blassie and Gorgeous George.
I see what you are saying, but I think it still stand that The Rock and Stone Cold, for example, are treated better than Jim Ross. Blassie was very loyal to family for years as far as I know and Gorgeous George is going to have a movie (suppose to start filming next year I think), so he does make sense. It still makes no sense to me to treat Ross like he has been at times. All in all it's just a line in a quick intro and doesn't matter much, but I think most of us hate the lack of respect that it seems like Ross gets.
Matt Striker's not a smart man.
Yet he's supposed to be a teacher, right? Teachers are smart, right? ;)

Meanwhile some TV right now is showing me some old school vintage ECW. Really enjoying this.

Anyone else notice the blood pouring out of the back of Alex Riley's head when he was thrown out of the battle royal?
Anyone else notice the blood pouring out of the back of Alex Riley's head when he was thrown out of the battle royal?
I read this and remembered a story I read a couple weeks ago:

NXT Rookie Alex Riley suffered an injury at this week’s FCW tapings during a 15 minute challenge match for his FCW Title against Kaval. Riley hit the back of his head on the guardrail after taking kicks from Kaval. Riley laid on the floor for a few minutes. The referee saw that blood was pouring out of the back of Riley’s head and the match was stopped.Officials came out and helped a visibly dazed Riley to the back. FCW President Steve Keirn came out and announced that Riley had a severe wound on the back of his head and the match was declared a no contest. Keirn said the match will be scheduled for a future date. The first few minutes following the injury were said to be chaotic in the FCW Arena with everyone worrying about the heel Riley.

Who's going to step up and post the customary "I've never heard about/don't care about anyone on that list" response?

I've never watched that shit. The idea of watching a woman named snooki or a man named "the situation" doesn't appeal to me

What about a man named "R-Truth"?
I've heard of everyone on that list except for the Jersey Shore people.
Jersey Shore is gold. They'd probably pop the rating for the week too from either fans of it or people tuning in hoping one of them gets their ass kicked.

Of course, Betty White would be the biggest draw by far.

I'm kinda curious to know who was Doink this time. Also, real evil Doink would have blinded Khali with his squirt gun and won.

He rides till the wheels fall off....so that's straight

It was Steve Lombardi (Brooklyn Brawler). :)
I doubt that was the reason since Stone Cold was also there and Undertaker is a regular to MMA when he's off.
when taker is "injured" or whatever he usually stays out of the public, so he can stay with the character.

he wasn't at UFC 116 i know that for sure.

taker will be back at Summerslam... but no HHH

So, Wrestlemania packages are available from WWE. This will be my first (maybe my only) Wrestlemania and I was wondering if the packages were worth it or should I just go it alone and try to snag the tickets?

I do plan on pretty much making a weekend out of it and going to the Hall Of Fame ceremony and all the other events (except Mondays RAW).

Any advice?

Might as well get the package. I imagine the ringside seats will be sold in packages before they're made available to the general public.

He was on camera at UFC 81 and has been a long time fan of MMA.

Did regular tix for mania go on sale yet? Edit- guess not

I guess too early to tell but all that WCW stuff were just rumors right?

Not sure i want to go since there is just nothing currently going on that has me interested.. I almost prefer one of those TNA vip packages where you get to meet the guys, etc
I heard that rumor too. Yet Stone Cold and The Rock were at the event and their voiceovers are still in there. Goes to show you how those guys (not sure about Rock) are signed to legend contracts and yet are still treated better than JR who has been the voice of WWE for over 15 years now.
I take the "punishment" story with a grain of salt. They've replaced people in the intro before, and they just did it one detail at a time (DiBiase replacing Hogan, Kofi replacing Jeff Hardy, Warrior replacing Flair). If they were mad at J.R. they'd just take his one line out like they did with the TNA people... I don't see why they'd replace like half the entire intro.

i know taker has been at many ufc events i've met him at UFC 43 in 2003. im just saying when his "character" is supposed to be injured or missing... he stays out of the public eye, thats why the WWE got so pissed about his wedding photos with kelly kelly reaching the public.

Not related to your post, but damn, Swagger did basically take Chris' image. It's crazy how horribly important Jericho is to the WWE...

im gonna jump on the bandwagon with the "im going to wrestlemania next year." closest its been and my friends parents own a place so free lodging.

I just want to put this out there as two examples why, no matter how much I want to like them, TNA fucks it up *every* time.

1) tonight's impact: Samoa Joe vs. Desmond Wolfe vs. Rob Terry. Which of these guys doesn't belong? Why will they get 6 minutes at most (including intros)? Why must they crowbar some shitbag into every match. Joe vs. "Nigel McGuinness" would have half y'all ROH-fucks gushing in anticipation of a "FIVESTARCLASSICOMG." But it's not your fault; not remembering the spoilers I read, I expect some hokey horseshit that detracts from the match quality (more than Rob Terry's mere presence). Also, putting Rob Terry in this match is a crime. It's like going to a fine dining establishment and being told that they only serve steak au poivre with skittles on top.

2) TNA just released a DVD of the Motor City Machine Guns. There is not a single 2-on-2 tag team match on that DVD.

Nice line from Taz as Sarita was choking Taylor Wilde

"You can get fired from some companies for that."

And in TNA, you can get fired for having great matches ala Daniels. Rob Terry, the secondary singles champ, is the number 10 contender to the world title - hell of an important title belt he's got.

Who here actually follows ROH? I watch the shows when ROH has them posted to YouTube and I've bought 2 of the last 3 PPV's. I think Demo follows ROH somewhat. Anyone else?

Lol I have no effin idea where he found it, but the guy who runs a small video store near me gave me a 24 inch tall cardboard Hulk Hogan from Suburban Commando.
