Teen Titans: The Future is Now = Shows a possible future with evil Titans
Superman Red Son = What if superman landed in communist Russia instead of Kansas?
Villians United - Infinite Crisis prequel series
Infinite Crisis should be out soon as well in trade form
from Marvel...
Marvel Zombies. Nuff said.
Either of the Sentry book. Neat character, and his original trade was a good marvel history lesson as well
Great Lakes Avengers: Missasembled. Stupid, stupid fun.

Thanks man. Marvel Zombies eh... I've seen it but didnt think much about it, I'll check it out.
So I just finished reading the Identity Crisis TP and I loved it. I haven't really been into comics in a few years. What other worthy TP preferably Marvel or DC would you guys recommend?
2 great Magneto stories:
New X-men- E is for Extinction
New X-men- Planet X
Infinite Crisis buildups:
Villains United
The OMAC Project
Are these still easily available or do I have to eBay?
The Infinite Crisis ones should be easily available. As far as the others, they're a couple years old so they might be difficult to find but I'd bet Barnes and Noble would still have it. Planet X is available online but E is for Extinction is out of stock. It shouldn't be too bard to find at a Barnes and Noble B&M or a comic shop that carries a decent amount of trades. The nice thing about trades is that they almost never go up in value so you almost never have to pay insane amounts for ones that are out of print.

Edit-Looks like B&N's website does have used copies of E is for Extinction available (for pretty cheap at that).
Nice, thanks for the links. I'll have to give that a shot.

If you plan on reading both, make sure you read E is for Extinction first.
Overall, I was really pleased with all three. Warsong was absolutely a great start to the miniseries, 52 moved along some of the plots I really liked, including the return of Ralph, and Uncanny was awesome again. I can't wait to see what happens next with the guy at the end. Definitely a great short week. My friend picked up Marvel 1602: Fantastick Four 1 and I'll check that out later.

I know, I'm absolutely broke right now and its been nice having small weeks due mostly to the Civil War delay.
I didn't get to pick anything up today though, my local shop didn't get in new books so it looks like it'll be a Friday new comic day for me again.
It was nice one last week to have a small week. That's all going out the window next week it seems. Regardless, I picked up:
Ms. Marvel 7
52 Week 19
Civil War Files
New X-Men 30
Thunderbolts 106
Thunderbolts was pretty good, though I think the arc's gonna become MUCH more interesting soon. 52 continued to be a solid series, and hot damn
Skeets is a little asshole robot. Can't wait to see where this goes next involving him. And Archbishop Lobo is my new hero in life. The only thing that made me go "Shwa?" was when Cassie called Supernova Kon-El. We obviously know Supernova isn't Kon-El, since she was still trying to clone him in Teen Titans. It'll be interesting to see where they go with this next, cause Supernova's identity is becoming one of my favorite stories in 52.
Ms. Marvel was interesting in that it continued the story line set forth last time, but I'm almost rooting for the anti-registration team of Shroud and Arachne. Civil War Files I haven't exactly read through, but it provided some insight into some of the characters, including my newfound fact that Iron Man hates magic. And New X-Men was probably my favorite comic this week. This book just continues to impress me, and I can't wait to see how this whole Nimrod mess ends next issue, especially with how they left it this week.

I got the same stuff you did except for New X-men. Some pretty good stuff. I've been getting every other issue of 52 lately because it seems like that's the only time they're dealing with the storylines I like (Skeets/Booster, Supernova, and the space stuff). I really wish they had just done each storyline as seperate spinoffs like the IC buildup but oh well.
Can someone explain the whole Spider-woman and Arachne thing? Was Arachne Spider-Woman before? I've never understood how that all works with the whole 2 Spider-women thing.
Thunderbolts was pretty good but I'm kind of confused. It seems like one of those titles where there's too much backstory for their own good. I've read issues 82-89 and 100-106 and I'm still pretty much lost as to what's going on. Don't get me wrong, I still found it enjoyable but I felt like I was missing a lot.
I may end up picking up Civil War Files later this weekend when I get a chance to get to another comic shop to pick up Martian Manhunter #2.
Edit-I did a little skimming on Wiki and I'm starting to figure it out with Spider-woman. I guess there's just been a few different Spider-women through the years at different times. It seems that this is one of the few times there's been 2 Spider-woman out at the same time.
Have any of you guys gotten "Pride of Baghdad" by Brian K. Vaughan? I've read so many great reviews for it, and plan on picking it up soon.
Not yet but it will be the first thing I grab this weekend.
Wow. This week is absolutely insane. I can't wait for Wednesday. CW4 is great in and of itself, but Astonishing, Runaways, Nextwave, and Superman all coming out also is amazingly awesome. Only thing that would make it better is if Supergirl actually came out like it was supposed to.
On an unrelated note, I officially love Booster. Sure, he was pretty much an asshole in 52 and his death was to be expected. But I just watched the episode of JLU with him in it and it has to be my favorite episode I've seen. Nothing beats everyone thinking he's Green Lantern. After seeing that, I almost wanna find some more stories involving Booster. Though his "story" in 52 now (or I guess it's actually Skeets' story now) has gotten interesting again, considering I thought it was pretty much done once they offed him.

Its almost like Marvel knew I'd be broke until this week so they delayed Civil War and its tieins so I could actually get them.
Yeah, I'm still bummed about Booster's death too. I can't wait to find out what's gonna happen with the story now. I actually went back and picked up the issues of 52 I skipped so now I'm back on track for the whole series. Yeah, its had its down points but some of the ups are definetly worth reading for.
Plus my friend picked up Wolverine and X-Factor. I think this week was the week of badass endings. Astonishing and Civil War were amazingly great, especially the endings.
Scott's line of "I don't have claws" after shooting Perfection was great. And the new group of "Thunderbolts" that Tony's gonna sick on Cap's Secret Avengers is awesome. Can't say I didn't see it being Goliath that died, though I thought it might have been Falcon or Herc also. I'm not sure who that was that led the little "We're leaving" faction of Cap's team, but I was sorta surprised to see Cable leave like that. And Sue's depature was to be expected, and you can definitely see the groundwork for Spidey switching sides. Definitely an awesome issue of CW.
As for the rest, Nextwave continues to be hilarious, especially all the development in Elsa's past. The scenes with her father were awesome. My other thing of note is X-Factor has definitely grown on me. The art still is a bit too "stylized" for me, but I absolutely love the team. Madrox and Monet are great and Layla is growing on me too. I find it amazing how many great X-titles there are now. Considering not too long ago it was just Astonishing, but now Uncanny, Adjectiveless, New, and X-Factor are all pretty damn awesome in my book.

What a damn good week, picked up like 20 books this week and so far I am enjoying reading everyone of them.
Saw CW 4 coming from a mile away. Wondered why he was on the team, no I know. Like a red shirt in Star Trek.
Wolvierine and X-Men Civil War were great with lots of twists I didn't see coming.
This run in Astonishing as been a trip. Lots of things I didn't expect, but they are working really well.
Still have 52, Superman, Runaways and a lot of other titles to read. Guess I will be busy for awhile.
Have any of you guys gotten "Pride of Baghdad" by Brian K. Vaughan? I've read so many great reviews for it, and plan on picking it up soon.
Picked up on day of release. Great book.
Homeward Bound is to WE3 as Lion King is to Pride of Baghdad.
Yes, there are talking animals, but there is so much care and thought put into everything that it seems natural. It'll be up on the front counter as soon as I get back to work.
Wow I wish I could fit this scan I found of Hardcore Cyclops from Astonishing 17 down to the size for an avatar here. Everytime I try it looks like shit now thanks to the 9.8 kb limit.
Civil War is hands down the best mini I have read in years. I thought nothing could beat Infinite Crisis, but the let down ending really changed my mind how the series ended. I do enjoy DC's 52, but Civil War has me wanting more and more!
Okay, need a little help here. In Astonishing X-Men, what the hell was that goop Kitty pulled out? Was it Proteus? What the hell is that thing?!?!
From what I was reading (I haven't actually read the X-Men story in question), Chuck placed Cassandra Nova's physical body in like a cocoon and that's what Kitty pulled out.
Man, comic books, 'em all! There's 13 books this week... A total of OVER $40!
52 Week 21-$2.50
Action Comics 843- $2.99
Batman 657- $2.99
Snakes on a Plane 2- $2.99
Teen Titans 39- $2.99
Amazing Spider-man 535- $2.99
Cable Deadpool 32- $2.99
Captain America 22- $2.99
Civil War: Frontline 6- $2.99
Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways 3- $2.99
Ultimate Spider-man 100- $3.99
Ultimates 2 12- $3.99
X-men 191- $2.99
Normally I'd be happy about this but I'm ing broke this week. I really can't find any titles to not pick up either cause they're all must-haves for me.
Yeah. This week is ing insane. Here's what I plan on picking up as of right now:
52 Week 21
Batman 657
Justice League of America 2
Supergirl 10
Teen Titans 39
Amazing Spider-Man 535
Cable and Deadpool 32
Captain America 22
Civil War Frontline 6
Civil War Young Avengers & Runaways 3
Daredevil 89
Heroes for Hire 2
Ultimate Spider-Man 100
Ultimates 2 12
X-Men 191
That's just way too much. I think Daredevil may have to get the boot for now. But everything else is pretty much must haves.
Just drop YA & Runaways... it does a dis-service to both teams.
See, I would, cause I haven't been enjoying it that much, but I'm a sucker for things that say Civil War and it was finally getting interesting at the end of 2.
See, I would, cause I haven't been enjoying it that much, but I'm a sucker for things that say Civil War and it was finally getting interesting at the end of 2.
So Karsh, are you still with Thor given the events of Civil War #4?
Since this current crossover event in Marvel is doing nothing for me I decided to read through some older stuff I've heard about but never had the time for. I started with Astro City because I really loved the Samaritan special that came out recently. I think that's the only way one immortal could truly defeat another.
Subtly and with infinite patience.
This is a great series and I wish I had read it sooner. I love this writer's twist on the usual hero archetypes and comic stories. I think Confessions is one of the best stories I've ever read too.
Right now I'm working my way through Fables and after this I'll get started on Exiles. Maybe by the time I'm done there will be something interesting going on again.
Hot damn this was a badass week. Spent 40 dollars all together. Got everything but Daredevil (waiting on that one) and Heroes for Hire, which I couldn't find now that I think about it. USM100 and Ultimates 2 12 were insanely awesome. I absolutely loved how Ultimates ended. Can't wait for the next issue. All the CW tie-ins were pretty damn good, and I was thoroughly impressed with YA&RA 3. It did a lot more justice to the teams by the end, and Chase wins for best line at the end. I loved how ASM535 ended. It was something you saw coming based on the cover but damn if I didn't enjoy it.
I finally read a comic the other day... was a Spider-Man one, had Mysterio, kind of a creepy ending.
I read the whole thing in a little under 5 minutes... if comics weren't $3 a piece I might get back into it, because the writing on the Spidey title I read was pretty good.
I think it was Friendly Neighboorhood Spider-Man 11 or 12.
DAMN, what a week. I am really loving the whole civil war crossover. Seeing the players switch sides and seeing who screws who. Like how Frontline showed a different side to CW4. Nice touch with that. Cable/Deadpool, was great in the end, just seemed odd to get to that point. IMHO. Was an amazing week to read comics.
Interesting. Apparently after the Supernovas arc is over, Bachalo is gonna take a break for three issues and X-Men is gonna be drawn by Humberto Ramos, the guy currently doing Wolverine. Here's the cover to his first issue of the arc:
I have to say, I think Humberto's art might actually be better than Bachalo's. Bachalo gets a little hectic sometimes, and the action can get lost. However, I definitely missed his art last issue with the fill-in artist. It was just such a weird change. That's why I'm definitely looking forward to Ramos' three-issue run.
Ramos is just awesome. Plus, he's the only guy from the old Cliffhanger studio that actually produced work (Crimson).
Mark Bagley lives in my area and came in my store (CC) the other day. I met him through the local shop way back when he was pencilling Amazing Spider-Man. Still a very nice guy. It's too bad his last issue of USM is 110.
Wow crazy team, Mystique and Sabertooth. Taking this whole rehabilitate villians theme pretty far. Not sure how Wolvie and Sabertooth will interact. Could be great.
Wow. Warren Ellis is gonna be doing Thunderbolts starting issue 110, and it's gonna be the team revealed at the end of CW4. That should be awesome.
One thing of note. I finally read all of Y: The Last Man except 50 after hearing so much about it. Holy ing shit. That might have been one of the best things I've ever read. Can't wait to go to the comic store this week to pick up issue 50. I wasn't sure at first but the more I read, the more I loved it. And Yorick might be, in my mind, the more "real world" equivalent to Deadpool in random things a character says. Definitely gonna pick up these last 10 issues of it and eventually the TPB's of all of it out so far.
52 23
Y: The Last Man 50
Civil War Front Line 7
New X-Men 31
Thunderbolts 107
Ultimate Power 1
Uncanny X-Men 479
I think I'm quitting Thunderbolts for now. The more I read of the Grandmaster vs Zemo arc, the more I get confused. This issue just had me going "WTF?" throughout most of it. I think I might pick it back up when Ellis starts at 110. Ultimate Power, despite me having no clue who Squadron Supreme is besides the team that's basically the Marvel version of the Justice League, was pretty damn cool. I'll keep reading it solely for the awesome writers. Y 50 was amazing. The revelation (sort of) about the plague was great. I did not see any of that happening. Damn this series is awesome. My only other mentions for this week are
New X-Men
I really hope they didn't kill Julian off at the end. I really love all the members of the team now, and he's always been one of my favorites. Hopefully the promised death was more of "Look, Santo is dead! (not)"
and Uncanny
I officially love Rachel. She may be my favorite member of the team. That was a badass spread of her and the Sword of the Phoenix over two pages. I love this arc.
I couldn't agree with you more about Uncanny, karsh. This current Uncanny arc is incredibly amazing and easily one of my favorites in a long time. Its X-men arcs like this that make me at least somewhat happy that I waded through so many crappy arcs in a row. The story and action are both easy to follow, there's a few twists and turns here and there, and it has some of my favorite characters in it. I really don't know how it could get much better.
Like I said, I'm really loving the fact that there's literally four very well done X-titles right now (New, Uncanny, adjectiveless and Astonishing), which is a nice surprise considering how not too long ago I was reading Astonishing and not touching anything else X-wise cause they were horrible. The X-Men have always been my favorite group in comics, so I'm loving this revival in a way they're having right now. And if you consider some of the more peripheral X-titles that are pretty damn good (Cable & Deadpool, X-Factor, Exiles, Ultimate), I love being an X-Men fan right now.

Yeah, the X-titles are definetly at the top of their game right now.
Hey guys, a new comic book fan right here. It all started with Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, and I've been wanting to get into comic books like crazy ever since. The thing is, I just don't know where to start. I decided that I could at least start by reading the Civil War series, and go back from there. Anybody have any suggestions on what I should get?
Just the other day I dropped about $30 for the following:
Civil War #1-4
Amazing Spider-Man #529-535
I just got finished reading Amazing Spiderman #529-532, just about to read #533. I must say that I couldn't stop reading until I saw the clock and realized that I should probably get to sleep. Awesome stuff.
