The Critically Acclaimed Abraham Washington Wrestling Thread

According to Mike Johnson, the word making the rounds among the WWE crew is that Batista will be finishing up with the company this week. Batista has been talking about wanting to do acting for months now and it is believed that his contract has either already expired or will be expiring within the next few months. A possible reason for WWE replacing Batista with Triple H in the Killing Karma film is that they knew Batista was on his way out.

I, for one, will be ecstatic if this is true.
There are a number of reports floating around that Batista will be finishing up his WWE commitments at the Extreme Rules PPV. He's expected to step away from wrestling in order to focus on his acting career, and could be done as soon as the PPV or the draft on Monday.
Good. I have zero respect for the guy, and, quite frankly, the sooner he's off my TV, the more I can enjoy Raw.
Kinda stinks that the one time I truly enjoy Batista's work in the ring is when he's on his way out. Oh well.
While his current heel stick has been solid, this is one time I don't mind tossing out the baby with the bathwater.

I agree. I just wish he was this good earlier in his career.

Also, this is WTF hilarious: http://www.weeklyvisitor.com/news/articles/tnm/deadjournal.html

This weekend was my annual Memorial Day barbecue in honor of all the veterans I killed for not respecting the Deadman. Kane and his girlfriend came over. That Katie fucking stinks, I tell you what. I don't think Kane ever learned to embalm properly. I tried to demonstrate on Austin that one time, but the dumb fuck wouldn't let me.

We played badminton with a baby bird that fell out of a tree. Sara was all grossed out. Kane tried to murder her. We laughed. Women are stupid. I stab them sometimes.

Later we were cooking up some neighborhood children that I caught in a net, when who should show up but Paul's fat ass. He was SO not invited. I mean, he's a nice guy and everything, but you know how Paul is. As soon as he smelled food he was all "OHHHHHHHHHHHH YEEEEEEESSSSSSS" and Kane was like "THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD!" and I was all "LOL!" I wonder when Kane learned to talk.

Paul ate all the delicious children before I could get so much as a drumstick, but he at least brought my old urn back. I keep quarters in it. All in all, it was a fun day. We got in the pool and played Marco Polo. Then we made fun of Paul for having a dead wife. Then we brought Paul's wife back from the dead. Then we had potato salad.

Batista leaving? He was kinda hitting his stride, but I can't say I'll miss the guy.

I hope his straight-to-video action film career flourishes. The better he does there, the less I have to see him. Quick, someone write a script for "Wrong Side of the Tracks 2: Track Harder."

i seem to be sharing the same sentiment as most of you.... his recent gimmick has been good. the promo he cut referencing the attitude era and himself and cena being the two biggest stars was actually really good, but a couple months of good work doesn't make me forget the other 7+ years of crap i had to deal with from him

Batista leaving isn't much of a surprise since this has been rumored since around 'Mania, but at least he's going out about as on top as possible. He's coming off a memorable WWE Title run, and a rejuvenated career thanks to the heel turn. I don't expect him to go to TNA since they're a massive step down from WWE and he loves being a star, and probably wouldn't want to risk another TOTALLY NOT STEROID-INDUCED MUSCLE TEAR in the B-level company, but I can also see them offering him any amount he wants to go, and depending on how well he does as a B-movie star, he could either pick and choose which company to go to, or be forced into whatever deal he's offered.

Phrostbyte, TNA's been at the 1.0 level FOREVER. Their ratings were actually higher on Thursdays with 1.2, but at least they're up from the .6-.7 level they were at during the 9PM Monday Night non-War.
Has it really been seven years? Damn, seems like only yesterday I was remembering him with D-Von.
i had to check wikipedia cause it doesn't really seem like it was 2002 when debuted

Summer of 2002 I believe. Evolution was pretty much formed by early 2003.
Who around here could forget Deacon Batista?
How about WWE trying to make Bubba Ray and JBL single stars on Raw in 2002? God that had to be the worst year for the Raw brand.

BTW, my local FYE has the Hell in a Cell DVD Deluxe Set feat. Masked Kane Bust on clearance for $14.99. Original retail was actually $85. I'm sure the DVD is worth around that much, but a ceramic bust of Kane? They should be paying me $15 to take it off their hands.....

Bad for Bubba, maybe. Fantastic start for JBL, though.

That wasn't the start of JBL - it did lead to him defending the hardcore title (with steerhorns on it) using a kayak and an oar though. As a main eventer, he didn't have it in '02, and this run was cut short by an injury. Bubba vs. HHH for the World Title on Raw...that was not good.

Maybe I'm nuts or nostalgic b/c of ECW but I thought the Bubba experiment was worth a shot. I mean, they gave Taka a match against Triple H, why not a bigger, more established US star? Bubba can talk, he just comes across as a huge dork as a face.

I watched the JBL vs. Guerrero title match from 2004 Judgement Day last night. I cannot believe how much Eddie bled. I hear about the Muta scale, and I've seen a good portion of that match (albeit on Youtube) and from what I've seen, it is now the Guerrero scale. They really should have stopped that match right when Eddie (I guess) totally screwed up the blade job. Every time he paused in the ring, he was leaving a puddle of blood.

In all these years you would think they would just make the pre-shows all clips and not have some craptastic jackass doing narration/commentary.

Ha, they used Cena posing with that one jackass as part of the opening video. That is awesome. KFC presents huh? Does that mean The Colonel is EXTREME!!!? Wow, opening with Sheamus/Triple H? Interesting call.

Okay, guess no Triple H/Sheamus match tonight maybe.
I could go for a ShowMiz match. I'm so glad they are giving Miz some time to run with things.

If it's "extreme rules", then why not have the ref start when they started to fight???

looks like a four way tag team match for a future title shot...not a four way, a gauntlet with the winning team getting the title shot
first team is R-Truth and Morrison

I hate that my TV at work has no sound. At least I can watch the action, but I have to make up my own promos in my head :)

Well
I highly doubt the first team is going to win. It'll be the third team. Don't know who it is, but my guess would be Hart Dynasty.

R-Truth and Morrison lose, second team is Mark Henry and MVP
MVP and Henry lose, and of course the third team is the Hart Dynasty...and they win

Looks like you called it

"They did it!!! THE HEART ATTACK....The Hart Dynasty did it!!!"

- Cole

Must have been eating one of those double down sandwiches...

Hart Dynasty vs ShoMiz tomorrow night. Cool.

Also as a reminder please:

A - No posting links to streams.
B - Use the SPOILER tags with results.

you can clearly see the Gillette logo on the shaving cream. No one said punk would lose his beard too! Punk better win this.

What is the time limit for spoiler tags? How much time must have passed until we can talk about something without using a spoiler tag? 6 hours after an event? 24 hours?

Wait, I need a link to the post that said we had to put spoil tags around these stuff because this seems new to me

And plus, why would someone even be in this thread right now if they didn't want to be "spoiled"???? That would be like knowingly going to a porn site and wanting a filter of the nudity so they can be ready to view it at their own pace

We have spoiler tags because someone on Tuesday complained they hadn't watched TNA yet to see the RVD title win. Some people are doing it out of respect. Others out of fear. Which one are you?

Sorry I'm late folks. Just tuned in. So far Rey/Punk has been pretty good.

EDIT: Ok after seeing the hard angle shot of the ring, I'm definitely convinced that the NXT ring is bigger than normal.

Then they are a baby in my book. You shouldn't go into a wrestling thread that has always had discussion about live events and not expect spoilers.
