The General 360 Owners/Buyers FAQ Thread (Updated 1/15/10)

:wii: Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is still $26.99 in St. Pete, FL. I tried three different Gamestops, and yes I had them scan it.
Im going to take a shot in the dark and guess the last one is Tales of Vesperia
Your shot is off the mark. Tale of Desperaux is a kids' movie about a mouse or rat or something. A such this is a movie tie-in game coming out for, like, every system known to man. Look it up ;).

I saw that on the preorder sheet at my store a few weeks ago too but didn't deem it worthy of mentioning.
Otherwise, milmanias, that looks exactly like the list I saw before. Except that Rock Band 2 was listed for every system as game-only and SE bundle. Why they hell they don't have Guitar Hero WT on there I have no idea.

As for Tales of Vesperia, I'm betting on regular BB stores not getting that one (after all, even my Gamerush never got Tales of Legendia despite my several months in advance preorder). I preordered Vesperia at Gamecrazy long ago assuming BB would be a bust on that one. Now, Infinite Undiscovery may be a different matter - like Lost Odyssey, I would expect them to get that (being a Squeenix title and all).
I just got back from flipping thanks to DeadlyKeyboard info on the DBZ price drop at GS...

I bought DBZ Tenchaiti 3 x2, One piece Wii for a total of $30 at Gamestop

I traded them in at blockbuster $30-->$80 (20 mins worth of work, easy)

I Paid off Mercs 2 360, and still have $31 on a giftcard
So they were $15 a piece at GS and you get $30 for them at BBV

Just turned $55 in GS credit into $110 BB credit. I then purchased a Flip Video F160W Camcorder for only $49.99 it was on clearance at BB. Worth the 10 minutes of my time to pretty much get a $130 Camcorder for free!

Has anybody ever had a hard time canceling a pre-order at a BB? I am in sort of a unique position since I got an extra 20% credit for putting $5 down on Little big planet. I just realized I'm getting fallout 3 and I don't need to buy both of those games. I think as long as I go there and cancel when the employee who rung me up for my trades isn't there than it will be fine. Or maybe I'll just have to buy and return. I'm also hoping they get the pre order bonus for banjo but that's unlikely.

^^^ You are better off canceling it now than trying to return after purchase - at least in my experience.

I just wanted to point out that there is the small possibility of using the deal in this thread:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194512

to transfer some credit over from BB to GS at break-even, possibly. You guys can look into it. Note that DBZ 3 is on the list of eligible titles (though I would imagine that is subject to change). So, theoretically, you could buy that from GS and use it to trade in towards one of the games on the list (effectively getting $20 in trade-in value for it). There might be a few others like that. Or you could throw in a Blast Works from BB. It seems like too much work to me, though, unless someone finds that one of those games is unusually cheap at Blockbuster. I'm heading out to get one or two DBZ myself tonight, but I'm going to stick with trading them to BB.
Without the eye camera.

For those with walmarts near by still selling them for $29.99.......do the math.
first, not a deal and, uh, check the BB thread, reported about 4 weeks ago.
and it's store by store whether the camera is required or not...again check the correct thread....

in for fuucking 1000 of them...
Wow!! DBZ is already gone at Cypress, and Garden Grove and Westminister Mall. Someone needs to get a job.
I picked up the lone copy in Garden Grove, the store closest to me. Not sure it will trade in though since it's kinda scratched up. I informed a friend in North OC, so he might have visited a few stores. There's definitely a flood of flippers in the area. Seems like you have to jump on the deals as soon as they're announced. Then again, it's always been really tough to get deals on any popular items in OC.

BTW, Luxor held at $23. The flippers seemed to ignore that one.
Damn, and you trade it for $30??? What game and what platform???
Dragon Ball Z Tenchancki 3 Wii sell for 17.99 at GS ($11 after coupon+edge) and trades in for $28 at BBV IF your BBV gives you tax with Trade ins.

I picked up a single copy each of DBZ Budokai 3 for Wii(bonus disc version) and one copy of One Piece for Wii.

My total after coupon(no Edge discount) was like $28 something. I ended up getting $49 for the two of them @ BBV. $26 for DBZ(which they DID have to look up) and $23 for One Piece. They asked if I traded in another store too, but a LOOOONG time ago. I certainly hope this means I'm not coming up as flagged already.

EDIT: I ended up throwing $5 down on Force Unleashed for PS3, though I didn't wanna pay it off completely, since they said it's a pita to cancel out of the PO if it's paid off.

In my trading today I found another BBV-> GS positive trade.

Mario Party 6 is $14.99 at BBV and trades in (with bonuses and Edge) at $16.80.

Man, I better get on that. I missed out on the Octomaina one.
Whoa, the Flip Video's are on clearance for $50? I'm definitely in for one of those. I was eyeing them at $150 but thought against it.
Kmart has the RCA EZ 105's for about $30 or so on clearance now. They're similar in style to the Flip Video cameras. I have to recheck the one Kmart around here that has them in stock, since they may have dropped to $15 this month.

If you can find one at Kmart and get a clerk to sell it, the EZ 101's should come up 'check shelf' and be like $5 as the last price in the system. They're also the same style as the EZ 105's and Flip Video, but the 101's only have 30 minutes of onboard recording time, while the 105's have an hour or so.

WOW !!! $3 profit :applause:
And BBV requires that EVERYTHING be included but you do have employees that dont know any better and think the game is game only. So you should be happy with your $3 knowing you just screwed a poor BBV employee.

EDIT: after taxes thats a $0 profit.

IIRC you can't pay it off completely, they are required to leave a 1$ cost for when you pick it up.

Well, today's karma was a lot better than yesterday's. I found a Power Rangers (PS2) for $7 mispriced (it rang up $10, but the manager overrode it). I also found Morrowind Goty for $7, Two more Iridium Runners for $5 each, and bought Blue Dragon for myself ($17).

They wont flip quite as well as with the B1G1, I just need to move stuff over so i'm not spending cash at GS.

You net the camera which you can trade in separate or sell or whatever.....thanks for the sarcasm though. As for the BB thread, sorry I didn't check there first.
IIRC you can't pay it off completely, they are required to leave a 1$ cost for when you pick it up.
Actually, I have a receipt here for Mercenaries 2 that says I paid $63.59 for it already. So, I'm assuming that means it's the $59.99 cost, plus the sales tax in PA(6%). All they said I have to do is come in 'at midnight on the 31st' and they should have it I was told.

I was a bit more reluctant on Force Unleashed though, since I'm not a huge SW fan, though the thought of moving stuff around with my mind in the game is a bit intriguing, but I've already played at least a couple games like that(Second Sight, Psi-Ops).

Hey guys is it a good idea to Keep flipping DBZ 3 tenkaichi. I just flip 2 DBZ 3 tenkaichi and Cabela's big game hunter got 75 for it. There is a lots of GS in my area all of it got tons of DBZ 3 tenkaichi I was planning to flip 2 each day do u guys think should I do it or lay low a bit. I only got one BBV's in my area.
I just wanted to point out that Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Wii is an amazing flip.

It's selling for $17.99 base at Gamestop now, and I just called BB and they're still giving out $26 for it.
Heading to GS tomorrow!

Thanks!!

BTW, anyone happen to trade in MGS4 to BB? I'm too lazy to call and see how much it gets :p

I'm trying to enter a subscription code for 12 months of XBL and when I enter it via my console I get the error "Can't retrieve information from Xbox Live. Please try again later. Status code: 80153003." When I try it on xbox.com, I get "Can't redeem the code you entered. The code was either mistyped or is valid for a different site. Please try a different code."

When it's entered via the console, it does display that the code is for a 12-month subscription, but when I hit "redeem now," the error appears.

This seems to be semi-widespread (see here, here, and here), but none of those links has an answer. All three are from within the past week.

The only thing I've found about the error code via googling is that it's often what's given when people try to download content that isn't available on the marketplace yet, but I'm not sure what that means in terms of a subscription.

Anyone know?

Anyone have any idea what I can do or what the problem might be?

damn one of the BBV employee said I was banned from trading with BBV lol. They said I've trade too many games to blockbuster (I didn't even trade that much lol, only around 20games max) and that makes it too suspicious that I have that many games lol. I emailed the coporated and they apologized to me about this problem and they said a Field Management should contact me and the BBVs to let me trade again lol.

Nice find on DBZ. Now to see if I remember which BB I traded that game to during the last GS b2g1.

Picked up an XBOX Live 12+1 card at GR but I was charged tax! Target doesn't charge tax on the cards or is that for points cards only. I saw We Ski for $19.99 but it was used. Also saw Army of Two 360 (new) on clearance for $39.99.

*edit* Forgot to get my BB card scanned so I could be put in the drawing for the Wii. #-o

i was banned during the perfect storm. apparently i've made over $6000 credit and was banned because of it. i called customer service and was told my information was sent to field management and that i would receive a call within 3 business days. well, its been about a month and i haven't heard a thing. good luck though.

I'd call microsoft support.

I was in a similar situation when a bought a $50 points card from WalMart but the cashier didn't activate the card. Walmart wouldn't do anything about it, I had to scan the receipt and send it in to MS. Took about 3 weeks to get it fixed.

The following all held today (all Wii):

Arctic Tale: $13
Bust-A-Move $23
Chicken Little: $16
Code Lyoko: $23
Dragon Ball Z 3: $26

Converted $53.25 at GS -> $101 at BB.

This BB had a Dragon Quest Swords case out with the new games and still priced $49.99. I assumed that would be lower and wanted to snag it and enter the Wii contest as a result. All was going well as it priced at $29.99 instead, but they said having the case out was a mistake - they sold it long ago .

Thanks for saving me a trip. I was planning on checking these tomorrow. Store locator still shows Cypress in stock

oops:oops:, my bad. I will start checkin the first 2 posts before I ask;)

u can see if u like accidently scratched out something like if it was an 8 and u scratched it a bit and it looks like a 0. but that might only be if u were like me and too lazy to get a penny and took like a pair of scissors instead :p.

I'm thinking of picking up a 1600 point card so I can buy the Mass Effect DLC. What else should I buy with the rest of the points? I was thinking Geometry Wars but I'm not sure what else. Any suggestions?
