If they won't let you just pay for it, it's probably going to end up being charged to your credit card, since a credit card on file is required for all Wii, PS3, 360 rentals.

I suppose you could always go in when someone else is there and tell them you lost it and ask if you could just pay for it. It's just a matter of getting someone who knows what they're doing.
 
Well, when I kept a copy of a game... the store said to put the proper amount of store credit in the account and request the credit card be removed from the account.. that way it will charge the account first. That's what I did anyway.

Yes you can qualify for it even if you are using store credit/gift card/value card. As long as you transaction came out to $25 BEFORE tax, you automatically qualify. As of right now, then average estimated odds are 1 in 200 at any particular store.

There seems to be quite a bit of confusion in this thread. The reason everyone is getting turned down is because corporate has never clearly defined the rules of value cards to managers. They HAVE clearly explained the rules of giftcards however. Thus, managers will treat the value cards as giftcards, since they act the same (even though we know they aren't). In the fine print for giftcards, it states that you cannot use a giftcard to purchase other giftcards. Unfortunately, there is no paperwork (that I've been able to find) that states that you can or cannot do this with a valuecard. Thus, the common sense thing to do as a manager would be to deny buying a giftcard with it.



PS- GTA4 is going down to $34.99 used effective first thing Tuesday morning. And yes, a bunch of the new games did go up in price :whistle2:(

OK, I thought you had said it didn't count if store account credit was used. I won't bug the manager at my store any more about it then ;). But is there a way for them to see a list of who has qualified for entry? If she could verify it that way I might ask anyway to be sure.

What the heck are they up to? I don't see Boom Blox moving a bunch at $44.99 vs $49.99 but at $39.99 it had a chance (personally I was gonna wait for $29.99 though). The $54.99 ones make even less sense - especially as they still call it a "clearance".
 
alrite i guess ill try what people said and see if they will let me take out my cc number and put credit onto my account from my value card. the game is pikmin 2 btw if that really matters.

Hell, Pikmin 2 is worth it even for $15 cash. Disc only the game goes for $30 on ebay.

I put a prepaid debit card with only $4 as the card for the account. That way when they try to charge for more, they cant, so it goes straight to the account balance.

Great news about GTA4 going down to $34.99. That game still gets 1,000 points on Goozex and i've got a ton of credit to spare.... Nevermind, it looks like there are no requests for the non-special edition.

How are winners notified for the Wii contest? I believe I bought over $25 worth of stuff unknowingly, but they don't have it tied to my account.

what do you mean there are no requests for the non-SE? I'm lookin at it right now and PS3 version has 43 active requests while 360 version has 92 active requests? maybe im lookin at it wrong (and always have been?) but it looks like it's still pretty popular. If the $34.99 price tag is true, im puttin my PS3 version up on Goozex :whistle2:D oh and no more heroes is AMAZING!
 
Anyone else having trouble using the wii 25% off GS coupon? A store manager sent out an email alerting other stores I had used it, so now one store I visited refused to let me use it. Any hints to get it accepted? I'm going to try to get through the whole purchase, and then at the last second pull out my gamers card and see if maybe it doesnt get noticed
 
Maybe a flip opportunity in the making, Dead or Alive Extreme 2(360) is $9.99 New at EB/GS and I recall it selling for $24.99 used at BB. Maybe if you could find a used copy a decent flip could happen...

In order to qualify for the contest you need to spend $25 ON YOUR BBV ACCOUNT. If you did not give them your BBV card before starting the transaction, you will not qualify, because they have no way of knowing who you are. It is all computerized. So make sure the information on your account is current (address & phone number). If you win, you will be contacted by corporate via phone call and/or mail on/about 10/22/08.

io- I don't remember saying that you couldn't use credit/giftcard, but if I did I apologize. So long as your transaction costs $25 before tax, you will qualify, regardless of how you pay.
 
I just wanted to point out that Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Wii is an amazing flip.

It's selling for $17.99 base at Gamestop now, and I just called BB and they're still giving out $26 for it.

Looks like I will be returning/rebuying several copies of Dragon Ball... Do the stores make you take a copy in or will they just credit the difference if you have the receipt? At a $9 difference before discounts, I've flipped at least three copies of that game, so that would be an extra $27 (minus discounts of about 35%, so about $18...) Meh. I'll have to decide if it's worth it.

My understanding is that you can't copy anything other than music onto the 360 HDD. You can, however, play files off of any drive mounted via USB just as if they were an extension of the HDD. I'm not sure I understand the TV tuner part.

And, to the best of my knowledge, you can't load images as dashboard backgrounds. If that was possible MS wouldn't be able to rip you off with themes on the marketplace!

The first one is true, the second one isn't. You can use your own image as a background.
 
No, there are not different bonus discs, just the UPC is different than the regular version. You iwll know if it has the bonus disc 2 ways. Either it will have at the bottom of the insert "includes bonus disc" or there will be an extra disc holder in the case.

I traded the one with the "includes bonus disc" written on the bottom of the insert. So is that the one BB takes?

To clarify, the one *without* the bonus disc is the one that BB DOES "take". But, all that really means is that if you have the version WITH the bonus disc, you better hope that your cashier isn't dumb, lazy, or scared of looking it up, because the barcode won't bring it up when scanned.

I traded one a few weeks ago and they had to look it up manually, but took it without hesitation.
 
They take both of them, it;s just the one with the bonus disc dosnt show up in the system & they have to look it up manually. At least, they did at mine, idk about yours.

I just got back from flipping thanks to DeadlyKeyboard info on the DBZ price drop at GS...

I bought DBZ Tenchaiti 3 x2, One piece Wii for a total of $30 at Gamestop

I traded them in at blockbuster $30-->$80 (20 mins worth of work, easy)

I Paid off Mercs 2 360, and still have $31 on a giftcard

dude the gamestop I went to had 4!!!! DBZ, and the one next door had a few, according to my locator using the zip code on ebgames.com the closest 10 gamestops each have at least one copy of DBZ tenchati 3 used on Wii.

Yea it's really easy to add an image to your dashboard if you share the picture with your windows media player on your pc. The picture will be available on the themes blade but you don't get multiple pictures in a theme, just one. Still its free though, I laugh at EA wanting me to pay 150 MPs for Gemma Atkinson RA3 theme, google it bitches! Plus a little Photoshop and you can make your own personal theme!
 
Just traded in Bust a Move Bash for the Wii... value is still holding at $23. To recap, after coupon and edge card, the game costs $11.69 at Gamestop. Tried to trade Octomania, $9.99 new at Gamestop but TIV is only $9.

Yup, we're lucky to have 10 blockbusters and 15 GameStops within a 10 mile radius, but unlucky with the 5 million (and growing) CAGr's, shit I almost cried when oldboy posted he was being transfered to Garden Grove. At least down south he was far enough away to almost be in a different universe.

LB is on the very edge of my roaming, occassionally I'll hit up the Kmart or Target on Bellflower. I know you have a little competition, but plenty of easy pickings for you I bet.

Kunai's, been conspicously absent in recent weeks, he used to drive me nuts when he came all the way down from LA into the area, but I'm guessing there is just no sane reason anymore to make the trip.

It's been heavy competition too here for the past month. It just that I can stop more than 10 GS along the way home from LB to OC, so sometime I got lucky.

I have to stop now anyway, need to wait until there is opportunity to transfer BB to GS to refill my GS credit. :) So take me out of the OC's race for a while, and can't jump in the DBZ 3 mania since I already traded 4 of them couple weeks ago.

Well I just did a DBZ BT3 For $26.00 , Wii.

Had to Get A new card people were looking at me weird when i past 200

was the last one to with a cover.

yeah the pre-order list is shit for BBv
they have over 100 games for DS,WII,360, PS3
But you can't pre-order all them, just a hand-full.
so whats the point of even doing a list that long ?
me and bbv employee ponder on this.
