paid $15 each and got $30 TIV EACH
OK, I'll bite - so how did you pay $10 less than normal for each and get more than $28?
Ventured into a BB that I avoid due to Jr Dick on staff, but glad i went.
they had two used Prof Laytons for $19.99

Off topic, but traded in a Dragon Ball Z...3 and WWE 08 to Gamestop to get Civ Revolution for $19.99(part of the trade two get x for 9.99/19.99). Dragon ball gets $5, WWE gets $9, but with the bonus since i put it towards Civ REv and edge I got $41.40 trade in credit for the two games!
Oh man, you stole my thunder there. I was just gonna post that I was shocked to find a complete Professor Layton USED at a regular Blockbuster. I've said this before but 4 out of 5 Blockbusters I go to have NO used DS games whatsoever. This one actually had 2 or 3, and one was this which I jumped on. I was being stupid though because I should have put the PS2 Bee Movie game back as now I have 6 to trade. Maybe that means I'll have to get 2 other games and do another Mystery Dungeon pair . I know I can just throw the Bee Movie into a trade with the others but since I'll lose a few $ on that it seems kind of dumb to include it when it isn't needed as filler for the trade 5 part of the deal.
As for the rest of your quote, I kind of wish I had saved some DBZ (and something else) to take advantage of that GS trade-in deal. It would be a better return than the BB->GS thing using Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. But then again, you have the hassle of getting then possibly trying to return a game (though I might have kept a Civ Rev myself) plus the potential of being banned for buying and trading in their very own games (always a risky thing).
To recap:
1) Bought Power Rangers and a Mystery Dungeon pair + 1 extra last night (getting 2 Wii entries at 2 different stores)
2) Today I bought another Mystery Dungeon (so at this point I have 2 pairs), Golden Compass, Beautiful Katamari, and Iridium Runners without art work (and another Wii entry).
3) Head to a further GS than normal because they are better about worse-condition stuff. I'm now wishing I had bought the disc-only Power Rangers last night but oh well. I trade the 2 Mystery Dungeons, Golden Compass, BK, and IR for a cool $77 (BB cost = $70). I lost more than expected on BK because it dropped to $6 base, but not bad overall... I then bought Tales of the World Radiant Mythology (for myself and the main reason I wanted to go to this GS), and WSOP and HC:BftP to flip.
4) Head to the BBV 1/4 mile away and trade WSOP and HC:BftP for $49.
5) Purchase Professor Layton, Golden Compass, and Bee Movie game (and thus get an entry in the Wii contest at a third store).
So now I have one more Mystery Dungeon pair + GC, Bee Movie, Prof Layton, and the Power Rangers from last night that I held out of today's trade (because it is mint/complete and wanted to save it for the pickier GS).
So my dilemma is do I trade all 6 and call it a day, or do I go in and pick up another pair of Mystery Dungeon games and scrounge up 2 more filler games (can get Golden Compass for sure) and make 2 more GS trades?
So far from this Mystery Dungeon deal I've converted $21 in BB credit into $48 in GS credit (if I factor in the reverse flip of WSOP and HC:BftP) and gotten myself 4 Wii contest entries across 3 stores.
In other news, this other store had the brand new preorder sheet from the new MAP (dated Aug 26th) and they gave me a copy to keep. So if anyone wants part numbers for the preorder games let me know. Guitar Hero World Tour is now officially on the list and I'll update the OP with all the rest too (nothing else too interesting).
And finally... My little local store informed me that they are doing a midnight launch for Star Wars Force Unleashed and giving away one of the large Darth Vader Unleashed figures as a raffle for those who preorder and show up at midnight to get it. This store has not done a midnight launch for anything before (well, possibly Madden 09 but I was out of town that week so I'm not sure). They are really trying to push that game. My son played it tonight and he had a lot of fun throwing storm troopers around. It was actually pretty cool that they would try to hold on to things as you tossed them around - one even grabbed a beam on the ceiling and hung there after he let him go. You have to admit that's some cool touches in gameplay there...
