Galaxy Wars? :headache: I was only able to find Geometry Wars Wii at that price. ;)
Ha! FACT: I own both versions of this game, and I still call it "Galaxy Wars" about 80% of the time. SMRT!
I was thinking about the conversion of the Land o' Lakes GR to the electronics store model, and I was wondering if anyone here trades at one of the existing electronics stores (in Texas, I think?). I'm just curious about what kind of LCD TVs they actually carry - do they have any reasonably priced stuff, or is it all high-end brands like Sony Bravia? Also, do they accept trade credit on the big electronics?
The store here in texas had Sony Lcd's and I think they had panasonic or something other brand. The sony lcd I believe was $800 for a 32". They allow using credit on the tvs or anything else they had in the store. They also had blu-ray players, portable dvd players, some mp3 players, and maybe some other electronics.

There are some games I can't bring myself to flip, mainly anything having to do with a Disney princess. I don't know why but I would kinda feel like a pederast trying to trade one of those in. Needless to say I stayed away from the title during the 10/20/30 promotion a few weeks back.

A couple things I have found while flipping:

1) Kororinpa: Marble Mania is 16.99 at Blockbuster. I'm not sure of the TIV at GS but I do know that it sells for 26.99, so it could be profitable with the current promotion going on. If isn't a good flip at GS may I suggest eBay. I don't know why but for some reason this game has a high demand. I have an auction on eBay right now for a used copy and the price is up to $36 with a day left to go.
2) A little off topic but in regards to flips; The Document of Metal Gear Solid for PS2 goes for around $30 on eBay and can be found (if you are lucky) at GS for 7.99.
3) I cannot tell reiderate enough how good of a flip Wii Sports is. In the last month I've probably made $250 cash selling this title.

I know these are some time intensive flips, however if done right these titles can net some serious cash.

Lastly, another new question to respond to;

Blockbuster, especially in Flordia, has an ample selection of snacks. Whenever I flip I tend to treat myself to something, usually Flipz and perhaps if I am lucky a root beer. Do any of you partake in the ample snack selection at Blockbuster while trading?

I can't tell you how much credit I have wasted because of candy, Coke, and ice cream that my loving girlfriend has spent during my flipping. The main thing she likes to get is the Scooby Doo fruit snacks they have.

Absolutely not. Even with dirt cheap credit I think their stuff is way overpriced and I rarely buy any - even with the kids there bugging me to get them something ;).

Ditto. I haven't picked up any snacks from there since my rampant abuse of the Snack Card. I'm still trying to lose all that weight. :whistle2:#

Well the Flips are only a dollar if you find them on clearance. That and the random soda/water/pack of M&Ms are the only food items I buy. However my wife LOVES to blow my credit on DVDs. She also bought the Terminator framed art for $9.99 on clearance that she's gonna get signed by Linda Hamilton. I think since I started flipping 4 months ago I've spent as much credit on DVDs as I have on game stuff, and that's a hell of a lot.

I am always embarrassed to trade in games based on movies. Why in holy hell would I buy Golden Compass PS2? I wouldn't. Nobody would.

By the way, No More Heroes is sick.

A couple of games that i traded in today went down from the front page price in BB TIV

Escape from Bug Island (Wii) $16
History Channel (Ps3) $23
Blacksite (Ps3) $26

I'm trying to get a copy, so if anyone finds a complete copy, ill give em $30 BB or GS credit ;-).

Picked up a copy of Pikmin 2 today at some random store in mckinney, tx today for 14.99 (right off the hwy). They also had two copies Mario Strikers, Power Tennis and baseball for 14.99 each.

I was almost tempted to buy VF5 online for 14.99 as well. DMC4 down to 24.99, GTA4 still 34.99. I really doubt they will do another b1g1 sale anytime soon with all the current gen games marked at 14.99 lol.

hey wait a min io...how many WALL-E toys did you buy for your kids during the FF4:RotSS flipping frenzy?
hey wait a min io...how many WALL-E toys did you buy for your kids during the FF4:RotSS flipping frenzy?
i think the wall-e toys were worth their price seeing its about the same price as elsewhere compared to candy where you can find it cheaper at a supermarket. that's why i bought 2 myself :)

How did she get the Terminator Framed Artwork for 9.99? I bought it for 14.99 because it was half off the original price of 29.99.

I remember a day or two after mercinares 2 came out, there were already used copies at a few GS stores in my area. What do you guys think are my chances of someone trading a copy of Rockband 2 in the next week or two in my area(I want to use the cellfire coupon). I commute, so I can easily choose about 30 GS stores to go to each day.

Thanks for the information! I dug around on Google and found an article about the stores in Texas, and they mentioned a 40" Sony for about $1600. I wonder if I could build that much credit in the next 3-4 months...:whistle2:k

Today I went to Best Buy and got Fatal Inertia on clearance for $9.99, then traded it at GR for $25. While the clerk was processing the trade, I noticed a stack of used games on the counter that hadn't been put out yet. In the stack was a mint and complete Fire Emblem: PoR for $9.99. Naturally, I bought it. :D

Exactly. I was gonna mention that but I figured it wasn't relevant to this topic. In fact, a few times I steered them away from some $3 candy (that they each wanted, meaning $6) to a single $5 or $6 Wall-E toy that they could share (and still have and not get fat off of ;)). Don't get me wrong, I think those are overpriced, but at least that is standard price overpricing if you know what I mean, so I didn't mind spending credit on them.

Speaking of Wall-E toys, I'm still waiting for them to go on clearance - especially for the bigger ones. Many of the stores around here are actually sold out of them, but my local store is still very well stocked.

I soooo want one of those larger, interactive ones. I just couldnt bring myself to pay 34.99 (or 39.99) for it.

How about trading Bratz game duirng B1G1? It's pretty embarassing.

Side note: radio shack will start trading game too according a post at SD.

That could be interesting, depending on whether the credit can be used on non-game merchandise.
anyone kind enough to answer?
Eye of Judgement should still be $30 (though that could change Monday). I don't think anyone has any idea about the others.

awesome. if I do get them all traded in I'll post values. thanks once again :)

It was $14.99 here for awhile but they still had two left at one of the Blockbusters near me. They dropped to 9.99 a couple days ago I guess.

Not sure. I bought Mercenaries 2 new as well and was able to pick up a second copy a couple days later at a somewhat nearby Gamestop. There's also a Tales of Vesperia that has supposedly been at another local store since 3 days after it was released. However I still haven't been able to find a Viva Pinata 2 online or in my travels to various stores. I think you might luck out of the off chance someone trades it in, but your best bet is to wait until next month when the bundle comes out. People who want to buy that but have been waiting for Rock Band 2 probably bought it with the intention to trade it in a month from now and get the bundle so you'll probably be able to find a few then. Plus that cellfire coupon has renewed itself once already so you may luck out and still have it be valid then.

Elebits sells for $14.99 so I'm 99% sure it'll trade in for $9 or less.

Thanks for all the info. I already bought the framed artwork for terminator, jaws, and empire strikes back when they hit 50% off. I might get some others like sex and the city and conan if they also drop to $9.99. Do you remember any other posters besides terminator being $9.99?

No offense to Nascar fans, but they should really drop those Nascar framed artworks. I've never ever seen one of them missing from the selection at any BBV.

I might end up waiting a month for rb2 to save 20 bucks of GS credit just cause I have a backlog of over 100 games and the Metallica GH DLC might hold me over. Thanks.
Sunday TIVs -

:wii:
Balloon Pop - $16
Obscure: The Aftermath - $16
Rock Band - $30
Showtime Championship Boxing - $16

:360:
Hellboy: Science of Evil - $35
Rock Band - $32
I hope RB stays at 32, will trade it in today for RB2

It would make sense for Rock Band to drop in TIV today, since Blockbuster likely just received a massive amount of copies, and TIV's update on Monday's.
Anyone know the trade in value of Ratchet & Clank:Future Tools for the PS3? I see some people are being nice about these requests lately :)
i noticed this too...i guess as long as people see you contributing to this thread and not just posting once and then leaving the thread for a while then coming back and doing it again..then they'll be nice :whistle2:D

Have there been any more decent price drops at BB lately (namely, $9.99 games)? I ask because I picked up Kane & Lynch this morning clearanced at Target for $9.99. Didn't realize that the TIV had dropped to $9.

So I'm debating whether to drive all the way back to Target. Or just accept the $1 loss and maybe pick up something else at BB.

What game were you the most embarrassed to trade in?
I have a 5yo Daughter and a 7yo Son.

Nothing is too embarrassing to trade in :)

Thanks for this thread, got 32 for RB, awesome deal. By the way I am having a hard time finding it but wasn't there a thread about Blockbuster pre order bonuses deals? I have searched but cannot find it.

I know this is the wrong thread, but you guys seem knowledgeable, Do you know if Rock band 2 instruments will be compatible with Guitar Hero (world tour)or vise versa. I really don’t wont two sets of drums
Thanks

Pretty much all the instruments out there will work with BOTH rock band 2 and GH: world tour. (Even Rock Band 1 instruments will work with GH: WT)

For the 360 and PS3 yes. For PS2 and Wii I don't think they will.

The drums in GHWT have an additional pad, but there will be an option in-game to select a 4 pad drum set...so RB/RB2 drums will work with it.

Just called, these held:

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam (360): $35
Alone in the Dark (Wii): $30

Tried to trade AitD Wii at a store I don't normally go to and they wouldn't take it. Didn't come up when scanned, presumably because its the 'soundtrack edition'. Gonna try it at my local store without the cover art.
I'm trying to get a copy, so if anyone finds a complete copy, ill give em $30 BB or GS credit ;-).
I could've had 3-5 copies for $5-7 each, all complete, from a local pawn shop. But, I kept passing on them because I kept thinking it was a different MGS title that was getting $30-40 at that time. I also passed up a scratched up, sans manual copy of TTS for GC when the one video store(Hollywood Video chain downsizing) was going out of biz.

If I wasn't dealing with my first(and hopefully ONLY) cold of the damn season(thanks to my one buddies' niece who was sick n sat on my lap the whole time I was over there the other night), I'd probably go out and try to snag the rest of the local DW: G copies for BOTH PS3 and 360.

But I feel like shit today, so I'm probably going back to bed in a bit.

Yes, I had this same problem regarding the 'soundtrack' edition. Fortunately, my store decided to do a search without me asking and reg'd it as a regular edition.

Yeah, I must have read your post, because I was already mentally aware of what the issue was. This store hardly ever does any trades and they were being all uptight and bitchy about it. I traded it in to one of my local stores today just fine (with them looking it up after I explained the possible cause).

Also, I inquired about PSN cards out of curiosity. They had no idea what I was talking about. The guy tried looking it up but had no idea what the name would be in the POS. Then, we routed around in the back and found the cards, called his store manager who told him that he could go ahead and sell me one, then he couldn't get it rung up. So yeah, what somebody said earlier about a POS update adding that functionality must be true. I was just glad to know that they did physically get them in.
I saw a few posts again about the PSN cards. In case anyone missed it they are sending out a corporate update to the system so they should be available to buy this Wednesday.
I scrolled back a few pages and found this post. Pretty sure cg1407 works at BB.

The RB2 drums have 4 pads and the GHWT drums have 3 pads and 2 symbols, right? So I suppose you could use the GHWT drums for RB using 1 of the symbols for the fourth pad. But that seems like it would be awkward. Now, I haven't really played the Rock Band drums except at Best Buy demo setups so I could be wrong about it being strange to play that way. This is why I was trying to track down the RB2 drums (hopefully from GS) and still also get the GHWT bundle (from BBV). I definitely want the second guitar from GHWT and will hold off on any bass playing in RB2 until I get that. But we really wanted drums now as all we've been able to do is guitar + voice (my son sings using the American Idol mic I kept from a BBV flip ;)). The problem is, if I can't track down the RB2 soon then I'm out of town next week and then it will be Oct and I might as well wait to get the RB2 bundle :bomb:...
