Look at Kmart, it's on clearance for $10 there.
 
After seeing all these other threads, I really wish BB would get some cool Pre-Order bonuses. I'd much rather have a t-shirt or soundtrack cd than a piece of framed art. Speaking of those, I see GH:Aerosmith arts in full force at every store I go to. Guess they were expecting huge numbers on that one and didn't pan out.
 
Today was a very sad day for flipping. I went to the 3 stores and found almost nothing. 1 Gamestop, 1 EB games and 1 Planet X.

The first store I went to, Gamestop, only had Bladestorm to flip. That's what I though at least because I couldn't find any other games. On my second visit there I saw Cabela's Big Game Hunter and Trophy Bucks. Didn't get them though. Want to know why? No cover. That's always great. So there goes two great potential flips.

The second store EB games had both of the Cabela's games in stock. Bought both of them. While the two games were being rung up some tall guy comes up from behind me and asks the cashier a question. He asked if they had a game in stock or something to that extent. I couldn't understand anything coming out of his mouth. I turn around and he looked like one of those people who try to imitate Lil Wayne. I laughed my ass off on the inside when I took a look at him. The best part though was him saying the word "used" without the used of an s, e or d. Funny as hell I tell you.

The last store I went to was Planet X and damn did that store suck major ass. Not one game at all. It was also crowded as hell. Why so many people were there is beyond me. And what pissed me off the most was when I was looking at games 4 random people just ran in front of me and blocked the view so they could look at the games. What the hell is that?

Other than that, not anything else interesting to report. Traded those games at the nearest BB and picked up 5 other games that I'm going to trade in tomorrow. I hope that GS is open tomorrow or I'm shit out of luck.

Check out the used 360 game inventory next time you're at a BB. My local BB has at least 15 used copies of GTA IV for sale @ $34.99. I can only imagine how many new games they have behind the counter. Their gamble with GTA IV didn't pay off very well.
 
Anybody picking up Mercenaries 2 at BBV today? I reserved mine, cost me about $25 in real money to get $60 credit for Mercs 2, cant wait to try it out.
 
Damn skippy; I'll be picking it up when it opens, which I am guessing is noon. So looking forward to that game - if it is just as good as the first one I'll be completely satisfied.

I went out with a friend last night and I didn't get home until about 3:40 am, so I'm going in to pick it up today. I'll probably just stay awake till noon or whatever time they open and be the first person at the door waiting for them to open up today. :D

As long as Pandemic didn't change the formula too radically from last gen's sandbox masterpiece, I'll be happy and be gleefully bombing peasant villages with tactical nukes by 1 pm. :lol:

I'm still waiting for the first one to fuckin' drop to $5 used @ Gamestop for Xbox, so I can pick it up again and just cause some massive havoc with my saved game.
 
Just checkin' to see if anyone has traded and can confirm the value has held for that Wii Escape from bug island game lately, last listed as a $12.99 > $20 flip on page 2. Even without a coupon its still a decent flip to throw into the mix if you're trading Cabela games.

I was curious about that one myself; I saw maybe 4 copies today at some not very local gamestops. After getting burned (lightly) on the WSOP 08 trade-in ($12 TIV @ BBV) I got cold feet and decided to not even risk it. That and I forgot the generic 10% off used games coupon; I might've been more willing to take the leap then.

I just picked up two copies of Sneak King, The Club, and March Madness for 50% off yesterday. If you use the coupon with 50% off games (even if they're not the ones you want discounted) in the same transaction it screws everything up. Happened to me with the Wii coupon when I also had Alien Syndrome for 50% off in my pile. Changed the 50% to 25% and didn't discount one of the other games. You have to do two separate transactions if you're using a coupon.
 
So far, today is sucking major ass. I just got hit by the biggest refurb fee I've ever seen. A whopping $3... Don't know why the idiot gave me that big of a refurb fee on a game that was in good condition except with a smudge on it. I completely forgot to clean the discs before going in there.

That and I have almost no more BB credit left. I have ~$30 in BB credit and I've picked clean 5 GS/EBs around me of all the flippable games they have. Need to find more flips so I can partake in this Trade 3 get an extra $15 promo.

I can also confirm :360:SST holding at $19. Anyone know if Fatal Inertia is still $28.50? Thinking of ordering it and both Cabela's games online...

Fatal Inertia fetched me $28.50 yesterday; I'll find out in a little bit if it held today as I have 2 more to get rid of. Was that trade 3 get 15 deal confirmed?

Two people have confirmed it so far. A "manager" told them early of the upcoming deal. Other than that, we have no other confirmation.

Thanks for the confirmation on Fatal Inertia though. Ordered the 3 games online. If it doesn't hold, I can just return it to a nearby GS.
 
Anyone know what the TIVs of The Club (360) and Vampire Rain are?

I picked both them up today... I might end up having to take The Club back though as I cracked it open to look at and it had obviously been refurbed with one of those buffers that puts huge circular patterns in it.
 
Did more trading today, using the 25% coupon and Edge:

Fatal Inertia: $28.50 (1.75)
Prey: $6 (1.66)
Hellboy: $35 (1.54)
Vampire Rain: $8 (1.00)

Basically, all prices held except for Vampire Rain, which seems to have dropped to $8, down from $12. Unfortunately, the 50% off promo doesn't stack with the 25% off coupon, so there doesn't seem to be any way to make a profit off it as of now.

Also, the guys at my GS mentioned the new 3/$15, so we'll have to see what turns a profit with the new promo.

As of now all I know about is Geometry Wars(Wii). It's $9.99 and fetches somewhere in the $13 rang with the $15 promo.
 
Tried to preorder Fallout 3 LE :ps3: at BBV but the CSR called up his manager and was told that it wasn't available at BBV (or wasn't getting shipped to this store at least) even though the CSR found the LE on the system. The Fallout 3 preorder case also didn't have any scan code for the LE so I was out of luck and had to preorder the regular version.

Unless GR has any special deals planned for tomorrow, I think all you guys are looking at is a credit transfer with a few dollars loss.:grouphug:
 
Did some big flipping today.

First went to BBV, got 2 Pokemons, Manhunt, Golden Compass and Bee Movie, for $75, flipped to GS for $75 (charged me $4 total in refurb, I was mad)

Then went to another BBV, got 2 Pokemons, Golden Compass and Iridium Runners w/ Sneak King for $66, traded in to another GS for $68.

Basically converted $135 BBV to $140 GS which I was happy about since BBV -> GS is hard to do, and I was out of GS credit.

Note: Vampire Rain TIV at BBV/GR dropped to $8, so it's basically an even flip now.
 
I had my manager buddy look in the system for Viva Pinata. He looked under "Viva" "Pinata" and even "Trouble" (for "trouble in paradise"). He could not find it at all.

I'm guessing that means they wont be getting in the game as usually it has to be in the system before they can even order any copies.

Yep - I already covered that.

What is astounding to me is that I think this means Blockbuster won't even have VP2 in for rent. That is just stupid...

As a result, I'm going to preorder it at Gamestop today when I'm out looking for Rock Band for my son. I'll preorder at that store that gave me the unexpected 50% promo I guess.
 
Somehow while moving my psu died.. (turns orange when plugged in, but once its connected to 360 it turns red.) I went to gamestop and they plugged in my 360 to one of their PSU to help me verify whether it was my PSU or the 360 that was broek. The PSU the gamestop employee used remained orange even when plugged into my 360 so the problem must be my PSU. My question is instead of buying one from MS for $80... can I just buy one from ebay? Does each model of the 360 require a specific PSU...

:360: College Hoops 2K8 - $12 (my old copy)
:360: both Cabellas - $22 each and all plus tax credits

Picked up Mercenaries 2 and a 1600 points card using the rest of the credit i had. Back to nothing gonna pick up a few more Cabellas tomorrow and build up a lil more credit. At least enough to pick up another half price game or 2 come October.

My blockbuster (GR) is having a BOGO and I'm sure there is a way to get some GS credit out of it but I'm not sure, any suggestions?

The deal is B1G1 on any 360, PS3, Wii games 59.99 and under and 2+ months old.

The same deal on used games, with the same restriction 2+ months old.

You can't mix Old+New.

For the life of me I couldn't find any obvious deals, and the only game I really wanted for myself was Burnout Paradise (29.99) but couldn't find anything to pair it with.

There are a ton of GTA4 used for 360 and are priced at $39.99. So I could get 2 for $40. Are there any trade in deals at GS to combo this with? I tried calling my GS and there were closed. I'm not really up to date on the GS trade in promos.

Slim pickings for me this weekend, was out of town visiting family. There are more GS here than I have at home, but most of the choice stuff is already gone. Two mediocre flips I threw in to fill out my coupons:

Saturday prices/values
Dead Rising $11.69 -> $15
Dark Sector $11.69 -> $15

Bummed that my info about a sale turned out to be bogus. :whistle2:(

Also, like I posted in the related thread, if you need to round out a GS trade-in triplet for the $15, Red Steel has been added to their 50% bins, goes for $7.19 +tax after Edge. Should trade for $10.50 including Edge and bonus.

I don't have the component cables for it, but I tried it on another HDMI input, and had the same problem. I also connected my TiVo to it, just to make sure there was nothing wrong with that input, and it worked fine.

I won't be able to use the protection after all, since that requires that it be purchased entirely with the card, and I just remembered that I paid (most of) it with a gift card that I got when I used the warranty on my original 360.

It looks like my only option is to go through Microsoft. Should I lie and say that I got the RRoD to avoid having to pay the $99?

Nevermind, out of curiosity did a search and noticed the dreaded "BANNED" on his account.

I follow this thread often but have not had the luck that many of you have in finding quality flips. I mainly look for clearance games that make profitable flips. I'm too lazy and don't pursue the GS to GR transfers.

Does anyone know what Head Coach 09 trades in for for PS3? My guess is around $30 - $35 since it's a brand new game. If I snagged a Target copy of Madden 09 CE I would probably look to ditch head coach.

They will ship it right back to you if it doesn't have a red-ring when they get it. Otherwise, every Joe Schmo would be sending them "working" consoles to get non-red ring problems fixed.

It actually happened at GS. The 2 GSs, both of which I frequent, are about 8 miles away from each other. The weird part is that another GS that is between them charged me the regular 8.25%. :whistle2:s

Keeping it actually ran through my mind. I debated it and decided to trade it in. When I went to GS today, they quoted me a TIV of $6 ($3 drop). I had seen the $9 TIV in the GS thread. I ended up keeping GW and it is complete and in mint condition. :)

As stated above, GW actually only gets $6 at GS now. So it would only get $11.60 after Edge and bonus. It is still a good transfer with a minimal gain.

Thanks. I did get Sneak King and Big Bumping along with 2 Cabela games. I just assumed it was over since the next GS I went to put all the 50% off games back on the regular shelves and removed the 50% sticker.

I need to find my old receipts and find the BBs where I have traded Fatal Inertia. I found a complete copy at a nearby GS. I need to start keeping track of which games I trade at each BB. I only have 1 BB that allows me to trade 2 copies per game.

It's three years from date of purchase, so yes, if you have a launch console, it will expire in November.

I had the same issue today. I was quite surprised to find a mint Fatal Inertia (obviously a new game converted to used because it was pristine) while I was out looking for Rock Band (on the flip side, all of Rock Band that I can find look like the cases went through a washing machine :roll:).

The funny thing was that this was just after I finally stumbled upon one of those mythical Best Buy YMMV clearances in my own backyard. They had a rack full of 75% off games (needing manager overrides of course so these aren't national prices). One of the titles was, yep, Fatal Inertia which was an original price of $39.99. So I kind of broke my new rule there of not using cash for flips, but knowing that it was 2.8x I kind of bent that rule a bit. But then not an hour later I found the used one at GS. I went back through my spreadsheet and I traded 3 of them earlier - but all in June/early July and none to my local store. So I quick got rid of the used one before any potential drop Monday. I still have the sealed one. FWIW, I also got all of the following new at this Best Buy: DS Gunpey $2.50, 360 NBA Street Homecourt $3.75, DS FF Chocobo Tales $5, Eternal Sonata $10, and PS3 The Bigs $5. They had a lot of other stuff but nothing as interesting as those (IMO). Most of these things I already got on clearance other places so it wasn't too exciting The weird thing was that they just took my word that all the games were from that rack and adjusted them all without question - none were marked as part of the special in any way. Now, I did truly get them from that rack, but who's to say someone didn't move a few of those over there earlier? (Except these were out of the security cases and most of the other games are in them so maybe that's how they tell).

I'll be out tomorrow looking for a mint Rock Band for my son and will, on the side, keep an eye out for more GS flippables (and perhaps check out another Best Buy!). It was pretty frustrating at one Gamestop they had a MINT Rock Band disc, but we couldn't find the case anywhere :bomb:. The other stores had crappy cases (and thus I didn't bother checking the discs as I'm sure they matched in crappiness).

I tried to lobby for his return (as he provided some good entertainment around these parts ;)), but was overruled by the other mods. That's the way it goes sometimes...
