The General 360 Owners/Buyers FAQ Thread (Updated 1/15/10)

Just called out of curiousity and RB (360) held at $32.

Agghhhh... I traded it in yesterday fearing a drop (after a manager/friend at BB recommended that I don't wait). Could have played it until Saturday. Oh well.
I know this is slightly off topic, my apologies, but what day each week does the new GS coupon get emailed?
Sometime on friday, the day it becomes active, but we usually get it leaked here on thursday nights.

i was hoping it wouldn't drop too and indeed it DIDN'T! Now I can download the new "All That Remains" track pack and FINALLY rock out to some METAL!

Good to hear, I took RB with me to trade in last night, but had forgotten to transfer the songs to my hard drive so I had to hold on to it.
Does anyone know if the trade-in values for DW Gundam PS3 and Xbox 360 held?
That's what I'm wondering too, but unfortunately someone is on the phone at my house at this very moment, so I can't 'just call them'.

If it did though, I'm headed to my local CC to grab a copy or three for massive flipping.

EDIT: Both held today. I picked up a copy of each from the local CC and flipped them both to BBV for $68 in credit....a $32 profit over what I paid and there's still 2 more PS3 copies left @ the store(both still marked $59.99).

I told you guys the RB1 value would hold ;).

Note, however, that the preorder cutoff date for Rock Band 2 (as listed in the BB MAP) is now past. So if you preorder now you may not get it if they don't order extra copies (like my store).
Did some BBV->GS trades yesterday (GS price includes $5 bonus and Edge):

Star Trek Legacy (360): $9.99->$10.50
Sega Rally Revo (360): $9.99->$10.50
Spider-Man FoF (360): $9.99->$10.50

So these are all good flips for transferring credit.
Thanks for the update. I know my store has Sega Rally Revo and maybe one of the others. Another one they have is Moto GP 07 which also just dropped to $9.99 and is another $10.50 flip after bonus. I've made a small update to the second post.
MX vs ATV: Untamed Wii - $23 TIV (phone quote)

Picked it up for $9.98 at Target.
I got it for $ 12.48 at Target and haven't opened it yet. Is it a good game? If not either going back to Target or trade it to BB.

Also picked up Bully and Metroid Prime 3 for $ 12.48. I will check the BBV value later on today unless someone know it, please post. My BBV doesn't really want to do over the phone quote anymore.
I can confirm that DW Gundam held @ $35 TIV today. However, I'm shocked that Rock Band didn't drop, since it's used price is down to $39.99 at my local store.
360 or PS3? I asked specifically about the used price last night and it was still $49.99 for the 360 version. It could have changed today but that seems unlikely (as they change sale prices on Sunday). It could also have been a mis-tag - possibly the 360 version priced with a PS3 price (I don't know if the PS3 one is $39.99 but it is $26 trade-in vs. $32 so it is possible).

Anyone know what the current TIV is for The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles :ps3: at BBV? I went to a couple of stores but for some reason (new/inexperienced employees?), they wouldn't tell me unless they had a copy of it to scan.

Both versions are still their reported TIV's($35 for 360, $33 for PS3), as I traded in a copy of each earlier today, as my one prior post reflects.

I'm tempted to go grab the other two PS3 copies that're left and trade those in too, but I don't wanna get too greedy and flip too many of the same title at the same store.

Oh and btw, for those wondering about the converted Hollywood Video stores which are getting GameZone stores in part of them, the games are worth $14.05 and $10 there, but they said they WILL price match the TIV with a printout from the store the TIV is from. In other words, the TIV's at the converted HWV stores are as shittastic as Gamestop's. Although, since the used price on DW: G(360) is $49.99 @ Gamestop, their TIV may be higher.

dang Look like there are alot of new flippings but I can't join -_- stupid BBV won't accept my trades anymore. They will start the trade process and then give me excuse sorry we won't take this game blah blah blah -_-. I know it's because the DM set a flag on my account for trading too many games even though they not same title.

I'm talking Rock Band here - I meant the second part of that post of yours I quoted ;). Not DW Gundam! I want to clarify that RB you saw marked $39.99 at a BB - any chance that was a mistag of the 360 version with a PS3 version price tag? I just want more detail - did you see it tagged that way or is it that way in the system?

It was tagged that way(PS3 version). I didn't have it price checked, since I don't have the game or instruments myself(and I sucked @ GH, so I decided that RB wasn't for me).

I believe someone asked about an Iron Man bobblehead, though I'm not sure if it was in this thread or not. They had one @ the local BBV marked $9.99, but again, I didn't have it pc'd.

Ah, well that makes sense. The TIV for the PS3 version is only $26, so $39.99 sale price is probably correct. 360 is still $32/$49.99 though.

FWIW, Gamestop has dropped the used price from the $44.99 I paid last week ($29.xx after coupon though) to $39.99 now. But they still sell it new for $59.99. So there's no reason for BB to change the pricing just yet.

Not sure if this is new news or not (new to me)
Xbox 360 Pro -- $199 (20 GB) w/ HDMI
Mfr date - 3/2/08

Disregard, price mistake. I went back to buy one and it rang up $259. They gave it to me since they were all marked $199. Apparently the person pricing them looked at the wrong model in the MAP.

I broke down and bought a Wii. From the $400 I had, and from renting and buying a DS3 controller, I now have $47. Here's to hoping more deals come soon. I want to rebuild my credit so that I can still play it safe. ;)

Io, just wanted to thank you for doing such a wonderful job on this thread.A couple of RB2 notes - Gamestop will be carrying the Ion drums (good news for you flippers), and the game is actually all for breaking street date. More info over at Kotaku - posting from my phone bites.

Whats some good Arcade games for the 360. So far I'm leaning towards Ikaruga, following up Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, Castle Crashers, Braid(want to beat), N+, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise.
Any other good Games?

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 is where your list should start even if you have the first one the new modes are great. Pacman CE is very good as is Mr Driller, Hexic and Zuma. Those are my most played endless fun arcade games. Aegis Wing is good and FREE as well.
VP:TiP isn't a arcade game.

Castlevania: SOTN and Puzzle Quest are some good buys to add on that list.
Puzzle Quest is great but it's SOOOOO much better on the DS. Perfect pick up play a few rounds and move on game. ;)

Polizia, that's a pretty solid list. I'll second Pac-Man CE, as it's tons o' fun, and add Carcassonne and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: the Arcade Game into the mix for fun and diversity.

D'oh! See, my son really wants to play actual drums and this Ion set may be a good thing for both RB and real drumming. But the problem is that I want to get the RB2 drums this week and have the GHWT bundle preordered at BB. If I got the Ion drums I'd have 3 sets of drums in the house :roll:.

The cheapass in me says get him those drums if they have 'em where I can use cheap credit though - beats the heck out of spending real cash at Guitar Center or something!

You might wanna pick up that Live arcade disc (used only) at Gamestop. It's like $12 and comes with Pac Man CE, Uno, Boom Boom Rocket, Luxor, and Feeding Frenzy. Pac Man CE alone is $10 on Live arcade so it's worth it.

Couple of interesting updates.

1) According to a BBV communication sent out today, EA will not be making a PS2 Rock Band bundle. They will only be making the PS2 standalone game.

2) All stores should be receiving PS3 $20 and $50 points cards in the next week and a half. I printed a report to show all upcoming shipments (was wondering when some of my backordered supplies were comin in) and low and behold a bunch of PS3 points cards were on the list right below our shipment of Force Unleashed. :D

Awesome! I've been wanting that Last guy game. I'm going to head out today to see if I can find some copies of DW Gundam to trade. I'm going to assume the tiv still stuck at BB since it's only wednesday.

On the Ion drums, you have to spend another $350 for the "brain" to be able to use them as real drums, making the total cost $650 + tax.

Thanks for the news about the PSN cards warner, i've been looking for them as there are some of the PSeye games I wanted to try out.

holy crap! i doubt bbv is even going to carry somehting like that! as awesome as it sounds...

I've transferred 90% of my credit to GS. But now I need to build my BBV credit back up for the PSN cards. Using the Cellfire coupon plus Edge (for a total of 30% off used games), are there any good GS->BBV flips at the moment?

How do you get the cellfire coupon? I've love to take advantage of this.

thanks for the heads up, i've been waiting to buy the warhawk expansion.

I was digging through my drawers and i found $91 BBV credit. I thought i would be happy like when you find $20 in your pockets, but i was like, "oh...$91."

Here are some TIV from BB -> EB Games

Iridium Runners - 5.00 Base -> 7.00 after Cellfire coupon/edge
Golden Compass - 4.00 Base -> 5.60 after Cellfire Coupon/edge

Then some of the rest that have been reported all after the $15 bonus:

Avatar WII - 10.50
Geo Wars Wii - 11.60
Fear Files 360 - 13.80

And TIV to BBV:

AITD - $30

Thats all I got. Pretty excited to see that IR and Golden Compass being a profit with the Cellfire coupon. I really love those coupons.

I finally traded in RB today. I put all of the credit towards a preorder for RB2, and they said they'd have a copy with my name on it for Sunday. They said they would hold it for 7 days. Wow.
