if didn't have a lot of credit at gamestop, I'd recommend checking best buy. they seem to have a lot of them, atleast mine does.

That's what I keep hearing, yet the BB I shopped at on Black Friday was fresh out of all versions. I suppose it could be attributed to the general holiday craziness.

Plus, I easily have enough funds to nab it at EB, where as real cash is sorta low at the moment.

Random question to anyone with RB: will the GHII 360 controller work with it? If so, how well?
 
Phew. Treated myself. Threw down $360 for a DrumMania controller+2 games(Original+Masterpiece Gold), and two rare ps2 schmups, Ibara and Mushihime-sama.

Rock Band can take a hike.
 
I was going crazy looking for Rock Band (none avaliable in my area), but fuck it, I don't need to be spending almost 2 bills on a video game anyway.

Eh, I'm not going to beat myself up over it, but I do have some friends who really want to play it. So I figure what better way to spend the day than to wander around and hunt one down.

There is a reason that none of the bemani games became popular here.

srsly my local best buy has a mountain of rock bands and guitar hero II, III and guitar controller for xbox 360.

Good decision. I'd take those schmups over Rock Band, simply because Rock Band's not going anywhere. It won't be rare unless there's a nuclear holocaust. Plus, they are 2 damn fine schmups.

It works, and it works fine. You won't want to use it after you see the difference in quality between the Rock Band guitar and the GH2 guitar. I seriously don't think I could ever use a GH guitar again (not even the one that comes with 3).

Of course you could just give it to the bass player, since no one cares about the bass player anyway.
 
Better yet, never use the RB guitar and sell it on eBay for $80 like I did. Recoop some of that cost fast.

Every place around here is sold out of Rock Band, save for Wal-Mart who has like 50 of them.

It's heavier, bigger and more realistic feeling / looking. People have complained of problems with the strummer, but mine is fine. I could never use a GH guitar again literally, and I'm not a rhythm game snob or anything. It's just that much better.

Started up Chrono Cross this morning. I started playing it over a year ago and got about 10 hrs. into it when my save file got corrupted and I didn't feel like going back and restarting. Never was too thrilled about the combat system and the whole "element" thing, but I figured I'd give it another shot. Why couldn't Square just make Chrono Trigger 2 instead?

I've also fed my shumup hunger with a little Ikaruga and some Chaos Field.
 
Chrono Cross is great... one of my favorite gaming soundtracks too... I think I first played that game the Summer after I graduated high school(when it first came out)... Damn I feel old now X_X

I agree.

On Thanksgiving my brother and I were playing Rock Band most of the day. When we switched over to GH3, the guitar just felt really weird. It could have been because I have already gotten used to the Rock Band guitar. Then again I prefer it over the GH guitars now.
 
Chrono Cross is an excellent excellent game if you don't think about it being a sequel to Chrono Trigger. I totally agree about the music.
 
I tried playing Chrono Trigger awhile ago on my PSP but stopped. Not sure if just wasn't in the mood for an RPG or if I didn't want to play it due to the DBZ art style.
 
I played about half of chrono trigger before I put it down. from what I played it was a good game. I've never played chrono cross on the other hand. though I heard many chrono trigger fans didn't like it very much.

You should buy a PS3... It's the best and man when I went out to this party with my real life friends I also told them to get a PS3.

Played some Rachet & Clank and Uncharted today they really are the best games to ever come out this decade, everyone should play it.

I take pride in writing posts like these because I get to out nerd you guys and show my faith in Sony products.

Kind of disappointed with Rock Band....

Anyway, if anyone wants to play let me know. I have the game for a couple more days before I decide if I want to keep it or return it.

I really thought the early 2008 release date was horsecrap. Gotta pre-order it and Kingdom Under Fire tomorrow.

Civil War arrived today. Is it really running on the CoD2 engine? I'm not sure if they intended to "demonize" the confederates...but jesus...the in-game character models look terrible.

I have to agree... I get bored as fuck playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero games... I've played them for hours and can't seem to enjoy them. they've become the same type of games that feel like sports games to me.
