Having recently acquired a couple of tremendous Arcade1Up machines on sale at a local Walmart. Very tremendous. I thought we needed a dedicated Arcade1Up deals thread to keep track of deals. I know deals people, believe me.

These deals are very YMMV but it seems many, many Walmarts are clearing these out right now. Clearing them out. Brickseek links provided where available, check your local stores for price and availability. Brickseek is not 100% accurate though, as I said ... YMMV.

Search your local area, or any ZIP, for in store deals with deals.consolekits.com (Site no longer exists)

Asteroids, Major Havoc, Lunar Lander and Tempest - as low as $75 in store, very hard to find or $164.99 online

Centipede, Millipede, Missile Command, Crystal Castles - as low as $75 in store, very hard to find or $174.99 online

Final Fight, 1944, Ghosts'N Goblins, Strider - as low as $125 in store $150 at Walmart online

Galaga, Galaxian - as low as $75 in store $150 at Walmart online

Rampage, Gauntlet, Joust, Defender - as low as $75 in store $199 at Walmart online

Space Invaders - as low as $75 in store $150 at Walmart online

Street Fighter ll - as low as $75 in store $199 at Walmart online

Golden Tee - $299 at Walmart

Marvel Superheroes - $299 at Walmart

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Machine w/ Riser - $349 at Walmart

I myself picked up the Final Fight and Rampage machines for $125 each for the Oval Office in the White CatCondo.

Finished up my multi jamma light gun arcade cabinet project today and everything appears to be working fine!  Thought some people in here might have some interest in it.  Took a little video of it in action if anyone wants to see how it works.  I bought Lethal Enforcers today from someone so should have that next week hopefully and will put that in there too.

I had to have my MIL order a Legenda Ultimate from Walmart because I could never get the order to go through. It arrived today. Who l owns when I'll get around to putting it together.

Glad you were able to get one. I haven't put mine together yet either. I need to make space for it in the living room but I have an old TV in the spot that weighs over 250 lbs that I am not looking forward to moving. It has been sitting in the same spot since I moved here 10 years ago.

I am loving the fact that you are using an IDE to compact flash adapter for the HDD. Ingenious!

That wasn't me by any means. I just purchased the upgrade kit from someone on eBay lol.

I'm sure you noticed too, but it's pretty cool that IDE cables are being used for JAMMA as well.

I did. If I had the space (or time to unsuicide my CPS2 and 3 games) I'd love to toss them into a single cab.

Not being able to work has given me plenty of time to work on that project lol. I have Lethal Enforcers arriving on Friday so I'll add that to the cabinet this weekend.

Thinking about getting the Street Fighter table. Does anyone one else have this? How are the controls? I am hoping they are improved over the ones on the original SF2 cab, which were absolutely horrid.

Gamestop dotd has Galaga w riser 299 today. I don't think it's a deal but I saw it. Idk maybe if you've got a butt load of coupons or something.

Decided to RPi4 my Marvel cab and have ordered the parts already. The only thing I'm unsure of is how imaging the thing will go, or what will be required since I think it will come flashed with NOOBS already. I've downloaded custom flashes for the SD card off arcade punks but in terms of what will be required to get everything running and overclocked might be a challenge? Anyone do something similar recently able to chime in on what steps I might need to take, if anything?

I did 2 of them recently but it was on older pi. I just used a fresh SD and flashed using etcher. I don't think it needs any overclocking to run roms. Since my first time doing this several years ago they've made the whole emulation station retropie front ends extremely user friendly. Sometimes it's funny the stuff they didn't include (something like rotating the screen by default had to be done in deeper settings, yet I could resize it easily...)

https://www.androidcentral.com/how-install-retropie-raspberry-pi

I just loosely used that guide, which says it won't work with pi4 but maybe is outdated.

I'm finally in the process of building mine as well, just waiting for my control panel and new mounting kit for my screen to come in to finish.

It's not that difficult to get set up, it was my first time and I used a Pi4 and it was pretty straight forward. My only issue now is getting the Bezels to turn off on everything since I'm using an Dell 2007 FPB screen. I managed to get Dreamcast off universally, but everything else seems to be refusing to cooperate unless I do it per game.

Huh, I guess I'll try without OC to see how Naomi/DC performs. I was under the impression you could get them up and running well with some OC'ing. Gotta have my MvC2 fix!

Did a lot of research over the weekend and I'm comfortable now with everything to do. Image I got seems pretty legit and I think I'll swap between it and a smaller image on another card that has Daphne working perfectly. Just waiting on the Pi and a few parts to piece it all together now.

Was out doing some shopping and found a Walmart that had Risers. Almost grabbed both but definitely got one for myself considering how hard they are to find

Hard to find at full price? Or $11?

They're not scarce around here for full retail. Couple stores dropped them to $11, but that was months ago and some of those stores reset the price to $45 when they restocked them eventually.

They are entirely sold out within atleast 50+ miles of me, and I know the Arcade1Up site has been out as well. The cheapest I've seen them on eBay is like $80+ lately.

I just figured it was a lack of new stock bring produced

If you're using BrickSeek to check inventory I don't think the riser skus they have on there are working. When I was searching for cheap cabs around the LA area a couple months ago I was seeing risers in more than half of the stores I went to even though BrickSeek listed "Out of Stock" at every store.

I went ahead and Direct Messaged the OP to rename the thread to a more generic:

"The Arcade Tremendous Deals & Discussions Thread"

-or-

"Tremendous Arcade Deals & Discussions"

So all this other Arcade talk is on topic.  When this thread started A1Up was pretty much the majority of the market.  Now there are other players as well as other subjects within the Arcade side of things worth discussing.

Agreed. And to celebrate the refined scope of this thread, I present to you that Namco Arcade Collection is currently on sale for $9.98 in the Nintendo eshop.

I am looking forward to reports regarding the durability of the AtGames Legends Ultimate Home Arcade units. I would like to grab one as it would save me a lot of time. I wouldn't need to learn how to build my own. Initial reviews look promising

I and I alone, in my great and unmatched wisdom, have just signed a beautiful Executive Order. It's beautiful, believe me. This order, signed by me your best Cat President ever, hereby renames this thread "The Home Arcade Tremendous Deals and Discussion Thread". It's a great name don't you think? Of course you do, it's tremendous. Everyone says so. This was desperately needed in these bad, very bad but not my fault, times to stop the whining of the FAKE LIBERAL CAGS who demand discussion be "on topic". These people are very bad for our country, everyone knows it. This thread, much like our beautiful country, is best when people are free to discuss ALL the things that I tell you are true. Don't listen to the FAKE NEWS people and remember none of this is my fault whatsoever. Vote for me in November so we can MAKE CAG GREATER THAN GREAT!!! BidenCat posts terrible deals, trust me.

Lol, man that really made me lol at work reading this. Classic. One of the Best. Posts. Ever. You got my vote come November.

P.S. risers are in stock on Walmart for shipping.

Since the thread title changed, I won't feel bad about posting this here lol.  I took this video this morning as I now have 2 more games in my cabinet and was showing someone else.  It's still a WIP and I have space for 1 more game, but I am still working on some wiring and waiting for some hardware to come so I can mount my latest game (it's just sitting on a chair behind the cabinet) but once that is done and I do a little bit more wire management, I will put back in it's normal spot.

Finally finished my cabinet mostly, just need to get some vinyls for the sides and the marquee at some point. Went with a 20" Dell Monitor, and a Pi 4 4gb model (For the sweet Dreamcast games). In total I probably put about $450 in (Including the cost of the Asteroids cabinet), but I just sold the unused Asteroids screen for $95 on Ebay and still have the Control Panel and J-Panel I can sell as well. So around $300 in total is pretty good to me.

Really big fan of DIYRetroArcade. Their replacement J-Panel+Speakers+USB Extender are amazing and were cheap (Was a set for around $22), also their Marvel panel came out great and fit perfectly.

I have had the sams version since december and it works great. my 5 year old son and I play on it frequently without issue including add-on usb games. I am pleased with the purchase.

My son found my old wwf wrestling ring and figures so I decided to introduce him to WrestleFest :D

That is awesome to hear. The Arcade 1ups have done a nice job with the cabinet art but they are small and limited in regards to control set up. I could always add more games to the 1ups but have all the control layouts is a huge plus, not to mention having an actual adult sized cabinet.

I need to sell some more of my backlog of retro games to pay for it as this is a pricey purchase. I also want to pick up the analogue pocket sd and the Atari Jaguar Game Drive so there will be some big ticket items in the near future.

DIYretroarcade is fantastic. I’ve bought from him multiple times. Nothing but a joy to work with. I cannot recommend them enough. Bought 2 custom control panels and overlays from him, and a few other things. Will eventually buy again.

I have a nice CRT TV (Sony WEGA) that I'm thinking about building a basic arcade/emulator cabinet with sometime.  What do you guys recommend to power it, given the lack of HDMI port?

I was thinking Raspberry Pi + Retroarch, but I wonder if Retroarch wouldn't be able to handle 480p, and if I'd get lag when converting HDMI output to regular video input.

TVs can be a bad choice for an arcade cabinet. That's because they typically do not power off (immediately) upon losing signal, or turn on based on receiving a signal. You need to have a second power switch/remote for the TV if you use one like this. Monitors typically power the screen down into standby once the video signal is lost. Now Some TVs might have a setting related to this and will work fine, but you need to make sure before going to the trouble because the best way to design a cabinet is to do it based on the size of the screen you intend to use.

And on the power note, I just have a power strip installed in the cabinet hooked to a normal outlet box I put in there connected by a standard light switch in an outlet box on the back of the cabinet (use wall outlet boxes for fire safety reasons so you do not have exposed power wires). Don't connect a standard 110V wall wire to one of those little switches glued into the wood and exposed, that's just asking for trouble.

Porfuk? Are they trying to say Perfect or Poor F**k? The item description doesn't instill confidence either
Greatest company name ever - a tip of the hat to the financially dowtrodden.

What's wrong with the description? Are you meaning to tell me that "This fits your" is not an impressive leading feature?
