The "Is This Game Rare?" Thread
Aren't these more valuable on the Sega CD?
Don't think so. You can get about the same for Lunar Eternal Blue on both platforms but you will get less for a Sega CD copy of the first game.

I saw Persona 3 (non FES) for $15 used at GameStop (100% complete and mint condition). Does anyone think that, for some strange reason, this version of the game will have any type of collectivity?

I want to play P3 but I've cemented it into my brain that it's only worth going for FES. However, I'm a CAG and FES's $25 used price tag hurts.

So I've got two questions really:

1. Does anyone think that the original release of Persona 3 has any chance of accruing value? Or is it another MGS3: Snake Eater -- a game made completely obsolete (both in gameplay and aftermarket value) by it's upgraded version?

2. Is it even worth saving $10 if I will miss out on FES's extra content?

Maybe I'm worrying too much over this.

FES really made the first P3 useless. $10 is worth the extra content which is pretty significant gameplay wise. I don't think P3 alone will gain value in the future.

Food for thought: You can get FES new on Amazon for less than GS used price and $5 more for the CD and artbook that came with the first P3.

Yeah I don't see any reason, gameplay or collecting-wise to get the original P3. Since amazon packages FES with all the cool swag from the original, it makes it almost pointless to pursue that previous version.

Anyone know the worth of Izuna 2 and Bangai-O Spirits? Normally I'd look to ebay for an estimate, but I can't help but think that the selling value there is largely affected by the bootleggers(DS has a large bootlegging racket, right?). Do they really only fetch like $12 new?

Izuna 2 is not rare right now. There are Amazon sellers that are selling it for less than $10 new and Amazon still has it in stock. And, you can probably still buy a gutted copy at Gamestop.

Same goes with Bangai-O Spirits.

The original Persona 3 is only worth it to collectors...and it seems that the demand for it isn't very high. But, it is nice to have if you have it for cheap complete.

As a disc only you won't get much more than $15 - $20

When I sold complete copies I'd only get around $25 and if it was the version with the demo I'd get around $35
zelda might be worth something
All of them are worth something. Zelda is around $70, Street Fighter and Power Stone are both probably $50 - $60.
How about Street Fighter III: Double Impact (DC), Power Stone 1 (DC), and Zelda: Collector's Edition (GC)? All are SEALED.
Street Fighter III Double Impact - $60+
Power Stone 1 - $80+, possibly few tens off or stay that way (one currently going on ebay available for $89.99 (+$4 shipping) with buy it now or best offer)

It's not bad idea to check up on ebay before asking.

Platinum Gameboy Advance SP? I've been selling quite a few new/sealed gameboy advance SPs of various colors(cobalt, oynx, pearl blue) over the past month... I've had good success selling them for $115 shipped, they stay up there for a week or so before they sell but they do go fairly quickly IMO. That said, I listed a new/sealed platinum GBA yesterday for $115 and it was sold about 30 minutes after listing. Is this one of the more coveted colors or was that just a fluke?
Okay, here's a serious one....

How about Shenmue Limited Edition w/Passport & Soundtrack?
Meh, I've only ever seen one for sale and I bought it. I'd say 20-25 buckaroos.

Jesus god no! I wouldn't pay more than 25-30 for either of those games. Just be patient!

Dance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves

Anyone think this one will be rare? Maybe not at first, but maybe later, like DDR Mario Mix was?

Dance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves - Anyone think this one will be rare? Maybe not at first, but maybe later, like DDR Mario Mix was?
That's a tricky one... I think DDR games in general have decreased in interest as the series got rather out of hand with the releases, collectors only really seem interested in the earlier versions. I think part of Mario Mix's allure is mostly due to the fact that it's a Mario game which appeals to Nintendo fans On the other hand, the success of those American Idol wii games makes me second guess myself... I would say no for now though, I think it has too many odds stacked against it.

BTW anyone have any ideas for my GBA question?

Dance Dance Revolution Disney Mix for Playstation 1 is incredibly rare and valuable, so it is entirely possible that this could do the same.

Is the Metallic cover edition of crisis core actually valuable?
My Gamestop has a used copy available, I'd like the game anyway, so I was considering buying it.
eBay and Amazon seem to have ridiculously jacked up prices for Metallic cover versions, but I can't tell if that is legit or it is just the usualy price-gouging.

I regret passing up on around 30 sealed copies of DDR: Disney Mix for PS1 for $30 a piece from Fry's. I didn't have $900 sitting around, but the fact that it would go for $150+ each now makes my cry.

What would a complete, great condition copy of PS1 Einhander go for? And a black label PS1 Final Fantasy VII complete, slighty scuffed that would maybe buff out. Im also trying to price DDS2, Persona 3, Persona 3 FES (sealed), Persona 4 (sealed), Rogue Galaxy (sealed), Disgaea 2 (sealed). These are all complete and minty fresh condition.

It's nowhere near as valuable as it used to be.

Seriously guys, use this thread for odd items that are very rare and aren't on eBay right now.
For everything on this page go to eBay click advanced search, check the completed listing box, and everything where the number is green means it has sold.

Since when did this turn into an odd/obscure items ONLY thread? Even the OP was asking about the Guy Game for crying out loud.

I will admit there are some times when people should just look the prices up themselves (like Persona 3/4, FFVII request in a prior post, don't mean to point fingers but c'mon those are pretty easy to figure out with a quick search), but when it comes to "will this be rare" questions or even talking about prices I see no problem whatsoever.

What he said. ^^^^

Advice from people who know what they're talking about is way more valuable than just looking at what the nutjobs on ebay want for something.

Does anyone have any idea what a sealed, original (black label) FFX-2 might be worth? I recently I saw one sell for $20 (yes, it was definitely sealed with the white strip, original release) but I thought was worth more...

I'm having a hard time figuring it out on eBay because of the all Greatest Hits releases on their (and sellers making no mention of whether it's GH or not).

I'm thinking no more than $20. For some reason, Amazon still had black label versions a year ago when I ordered one and they clearly had the GH version listed. It might have been a fluke, but I doubt the game demands much in either flavor. FFX doesn't command much either way as well.

Probably not very much. First off, it's a spin-off (like Dirge of Cerberus). Second, it's not a very liked spin-off (like Dirge of Cerberus). Short story: FF spin-offs on the PS2 aren't worth anything.

You're better off holding on to it for five or more years. It should be worth a solid $50+ by 2014.

Oh, I don't have the game.. just curious because it was offered to me in a trade.

not a game, but not sure where else to ask...

what do you guys know about a full set of star ocean: til the end of time figures NIB? I bought the set when the game came out and ended up doing absolutely nothing with them...

Judging by what's on eBay, it looks like they're worth $6.00 - $15.00 a piece. I don't know how many figures are in the full set and the only completed listing is for the main character (Fayt Linegood) and it ended at $6.00. Every other figure on eBay right now is listed at around $14.99 BIN.

they're everywhere still so no more than $20 i would say. glad i picked up some at kmart for $2 each \\:D/

My dad just came into a stash of old PC games. I'll have to make a list, but I wanted more info on one that caught my eye. Anyone know anything about Star Wars for the Atari ST?

Pfft... if I was as lucky, the only good things I found at my Kmart were 3-4 Tales of the Abyss for $15 each and I thought they would keep on dropping in value so I only picked up two and traded them. I wish I would've held on to at least one extra copy as now they've skyrocketed back up. Of course, they're gone now and since then I've only seen crap.

I know this is a game thread but which of the colored N64 consoles is worth the most? The orange, Blue Ice, or the green? Oh yeah and cant forget the Pikachu Yellow and that Transparent purple one too. Or if someone would be nice enough to list them in order I would be very greatful!

Thanks In Advance!

There should be 8 colors, Fire Orange, Grape Purple, Ice Blue, Jungle Green, Smoke Grey, Watermelon Red and yellow Pikachu. But the only color is rare is limited edition gold.

What was the gold one released for...? I remember the rest but don't remember a gold N64.

It might be gouging. Some current listing are all over the place. I'd get it if it were in good condition and relatively cheap. It could gain some value down the road since it is a great FF game.
It was ToysRUs exclusive gold bundle. i really didn't know there was a gold one as well. but i guess there out there, here some proof. http://www.geekphotoblog.com/limited-edition-gold-nintendo-64/
Holy crap... that is fucking awesome. You know, it's weird how we haven't seen any exclusive colors for consoles this gen, at least in the US. I think the red RE5 360 is the only one.

I'll have to keep my eye out for one of these but I'm guessing they're rare as hell going by what that guy said.
what about the light pink and light blue ps2's for easter?
If you mean old one, yeah there rare. light blue is TRU exclusive Ratchet & Clank bundled and Im not sure about light pink (no info of it) but i think that must rare color in ps2.

I find site that show all the official color for each console and handheld.
http://www.consolecolors.com/

There are slim versions of the easter colors, but I haven't seen any around here. I think it was some promotional thing in 2006 or 2007 or something.......

It's funny you mention that since I remember way back during E3 05 Nintendo said the Wii was going to come in like 7 different colors. So far, its only been one everywhere.
