I'd love to see Christian win tonight. I know it won't happen. Then again a week ago at this time if you would of told me that Jericho would win the WWE Championship I would of laughed at you.

I would also love to see Christian win. Here's hoping TNA doesn't go for TNA-predictable.

"Look how far he can get that foot up!"

"Wow!"

"Wow!"

"Wow!"

"Look at that!"

Don West is the guy who explains jokes.

Edit: That was a pretty ugly match. I thought Matt Morgan performed better than the other three, though.

"One thing we know about Taylor Wilde is that she's a fighter." And that's about it. :whistle2:#

Petey/Bashir/Creed was well-paced, fun, and well-executed. I reckon it's the match of the night.

If generic-name-fit-for-porn (Angel Williams) doesn't win the women's title, TNA made a mistake. Those two are two of TNA's top heels. No joke.
What's Sonjay Dutt and Macho Man ladder matchin' over? A marriage license?
The winner gets to fuck SoCal Val.

Ludicrous stipulation aside, this match has been awesome thus far.

Indeed, Purple Flames.

I may have to revise my Match of the Night statement. This has also been a real solid effort by all parties.

Well, at least the story is finally completed. Praise the great panda god in the sky. That said, that was one of the better recent ladder matches between WWE and TNA. The neckbreaker spot outside was nice.

Edit:
"Oh, I'm pissed."
"I AM PISSED!!!"

Don West, best announcer ever?
I think my grandmother could have seen Val's heel turn coming.

On a side note, is it just me, or does Frank Trigg look like Howie Mandel?
Perhaps they realized it would be too stupid, even for them, to debut Foley on a total nothing show without any buildup.
TNA has become sentient! Everyone prepare yourself by donning your hardhats! :hot:

Foley was booked at a benefit event in NY today - probably couldn't make it to Canada in time.

Shelley Martinez is gone from TNA. She gave her notice this morning, as she'd been asked to do a movie in Italy that would have conflicted with her TNA booking. She told TNA that she'd turn down the film if TNA would pay her more, TNA said no, thus she's gone.

Also, hopefully this movie involves boobs.

That is all.

I'll be surprised if that's all it involves.

You do know she has posed nude previously, right? Also she was way hotter as Ariel. :)

Wait, so is she the one with the dinner-plate nipples?
Wait, so is she the one with the dinner-plate nipples?
Yeah. They looked better after the implants, since before her nipples took up 3/4 of her boobs.

Yeah, her porno with Jewel De'Nyle showed off a much nicer set of tits. As for her leaving TNA...eh, so what? It's not like she added anything to LAX's act. Although she was nice to look at.

As for NS...
Let's see here...the PPV opened with Sting TALKING, announcing that he got a title shot...for some reason. Why, I have no idea, as he was last seen in a match losing in the FIRST ROUND of a tag title tourney, and now suddenly he's the number 1 contender to the heavyweight championship of the world. Announcing this on a show where Joe's opponents had to win qualifiers to get a shot was fine comedy. Then there was the comedy tag, which was perfectly fine for what it was, then a bad knockouts brawl between Kong and ODB, then a bad tag match with Morgan and Chris Abyss against 3D, but things got better with the X division title match, which the crowd at least cared about thanks to Petey.

Beer Money Inc. vs. LAX was good - nothing memorable aside from Storm's foam dome, but nothing horrible either. The knockouts title match was okay, but had nothing memorable aside from Velvet Sky bending over before the match. The ladder of love was easily the best match on the show, with the wrestlers working very hard, and pulling off some pretty innovative and cool-looking stuff throughout the match. Dutt's bump on the ladder sandwiched between the apron and the railing looked fantastic, and also liked Sonjay's somersault senton onto Lethal, who was on a ladder on top of the second rope and between the rungs of the ladder in mid-ring. The flying clothesline spot on ladder between two chairs was good stuff too, and was sold very well by Sonjay, who shined quite a bit in this match. Val bugged me with her usual horrid acting, but she played the heel very well, calmly punching Lethal in the nuts before sashaying over to the other side of the ring to meet Sonjay.

Trigg-AJ was a laugh riot, with the crowd shitting all over the match with loud "We want wrestling!", "Fire Russo!" (which TNA was kind enough to show fans chanting in close-ups), and "THIS IS BULLSHIT" chants. The match itself wasn't as bad as say the Last Rites match that also got such chants, but it was pretty bad. Not exactly TNA's best choice for a semi-main event given that it was Trigg's first match, and the reaction couldn't have been what they wanted out of this. Aside from the close-up of the "Fire Russo!" chant, the funniest part to me was the crowd stopping the chants during the break between rounds 1 and 2, and then IMMEDIATELY resuming them the second the bell rang to begin the second round.

TNA once again not announcing that a main eventer wouldn't be in a match before the show bugged me, but I did find it funny that they didn't bother removing him from any of the graphics - the video packages I can understand, since they take more time to create, but it shouldn't have been too hard to just take him off the graphics as well.

The match itself was a good TV main event, but an underwhelming PPV one. It was a bit too short for one at about 15 minutes in length, and just seemed like a collection of spots (including Angle applying the ankle lock to both Joe and Cage at once - a spot that I'm not too fond of because of how absurd it ends up looking) without much thought being put into them. Joe winning thanks to Jarrett annoyed me - Jeff JUST came back and I'm already sick of his act, and why wouldn't I be?

He's been doing the same shit for a good nine years, and when it began, it was simply opening match fodder - now it's opening match shit being passed off as main event-level material, and judging by the general crowd apathy towards Jeff, it's not going to work this time around. Of course, that won't prevent him from getting a push - I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the deciding factor in Joe-Sting either, helping Sting get his annual BFG title win in a SHOCKING SWERVE.

The first half of this show was awful, but the second half, aside from Trigg-AJ, was decent, and even that match is worth watching for the crowd reaction to it. Really though, nothing aside from Sting's show-opening announcement seemed to be of any significance. I suppose Bashir winning the X title is newsworthy, but given how dead that division is, it doesn't mean much.

Yep, Shelly Martinez just provided the sex appeal. That's about it. They could bring in/back Lizzy Valentine/Valentina in place of Martinez. Plus, Homicide trained her, so they would be familiar. If not, there's always Portia Perez (SHIMMER). She's more attractive, and would also fit the bill.

I think LAX needs a third active member. Preferably someone with more charisma and who can work the mic better than the other two, and Hector Guerrero. And no, god no, I don't mean Konnan. Perhaps Rocky Romero?

Does anyone have anything good to say about the WWE Ladder Match DVD? I just saw a copy for about $20 (less with employee discount), and I wanted to know if there's some severe blurring, or anything else that might warrant a second thought.

I have it, but I have not watched all of it. It botherd me a bit in TLC 1, but not much in Undertaker vs Hardy. As for the rest of the matches I haven't watched them yet. Sorry.

The blurring doesn't bother me much, although it does get in the way of the SmackDown TLC match at times. The set itself is largely fantastic, although there's some filler on there (like the Eddie-Rey video package, and the long as hell intro for the Armageddon '06 ladder match) that could've been excised in favor of adding another match or two to the set. Match content-wise, it's one of WWE's better sets, about on par with Rey's excellent second set, which is chock-full of great matches.

Jake was booked at a show this weekend in Cleveland. He went to this show, doing a live interview earlier in the morning for the promotion, that by all reports went very smoothly. His appearance at the show did not.

Before I tell you what I know about what happened to him at the show, and that knowledge is very limited, I was not there, I will tell you this. Jake's behavior would normally be construed as completely unacceptible. I understand from the promoter that he spend endless time wandering back and forth to the bar. Jake took his rehab from the WWE very seriously, and has not done such a thing in months, so this behavior made me really scratch my head as to the REASON. My sincere apologies go out to JC, the over the top kind natured promoter who did nothing to deserve this, and has been nothing but kind to Jake, and by association, myself as well. My sincere apologies to the fine fans of Cleveland, you did not deserve this at all.

That for this, again. Jake was given an open container of what he was told was a cold drink. That happened when he got to the venue. He remembers nothing between that time, and the time he woke up the next morning in the motel, alone, beaten, injured. I had a really fun time getting him back on the same page, by phone, to just get him to the airport to try to get back home. It was a constant string of conversation just to get him to MOVE. This is not how he behaves ever. On his worst days, Jake has always had total recall.

Jake was drugged. He has been home since Saturday afternoon about 4:30PM and up until last night about 8:30PM, had not eaten or slept. His standard answer for everything the last two days has been "I don't know."

That is the other side of the story, folks, believe it or not, it is certainly your choice. I'm dealing with the guy they sent home, and folks, it is frightening to both me, and to him, and really not much fun. To the guy's that did this, and I say this often when confronted with sub-human behavior, something I see far too often I'm sorry to say, God's a funny guy. You'll get yours, I have no doubt at all.

Thank you for reading.

Shannon, Jake's assistant
Team Snake

I really doubt that happened but I do hope that this means Jake will go back to rehab.

Perhaps. I could see how someone would find it amusing to observe a drugged Jake Roberts. If true, that's pretty heinous.

If this is just publicity spin, then well, here's hoping Jake gets back to rehab. At this point, I doubt anything could change his behavior, but it never hurts to hope for the best.
