Of course. I have a slick pony tail and I wear a pink gi to school. When people insult me I give them the first taunt.
What do people have to do for you to give them the Super Taunt?

Regarding 5.1...

I just wrote an editorial on what I think about the game, check it out... www.VGONetwork.com ...

Also about Paul's d+4:2:1+2... it's exactly the same as 5.0. Same timing leniancy etc.

I'm not too crazy about 5.1 right now.

Hey I think this has been discussed, but do you think the inevitable GH version of Tekken 5 will be based on one of those newer arcade revisions? I was thinking of picking it up at Target this week, but if there's any chance that the GH pressing would be different (like Virtua Fighter 4) then I'll just wait. No sense paying more for a version that will be outdated.

With Fei in 5.1 can you still ss+4 and then df+1 to mop them up. Someone posted earlier that the df+1 doesn't have that effect anymore. I can pull off some nasty combos from that set-up, it would suck if they took it out.

The greatest hits version of 5.1, if it came out anytime soon, will actually NOT be a newer port from the arcade versions.

It would be the same one. Namco already stated that 5.1 is arcade only while 5.2 which is already underway, would be the big upgrade(think VF4 to VF4 EVO)... And 5.2 will come to console.

Also about Feng Wei... IMO his most reliable/damage juggle from SS+4 is still, SS+4, d/f+1, f+2,1, d/b+1+2,2, FC d/f+3. It's a bit harder to hit d/b+1+2,2 now cuz of the slight delay but it still works straight up.

Multiple d/f+1s into d+4 is a crap juggle now as only one d+4 stomp is gauranteed afterwards now.

And add to the fact that SS+4 is crap now :( ! -9320480932480293 on block.

Did I call him Fei? Guess I got his name confussed with someone else (maybe Fei Long.) Anyways that's the combo I do with him, Glad to see that's it's still possible to pull off. I always did have alittle trouble with the d/b+1+2,2 part of it, now it looks like it's more difficult. Thanks for the info about 5.2. Since VF EVO had new characters could we expect new characters in 5.2?

from what I am guessing about 5.2: since the PS3 Tekken trailer has been shown and around for a while now, people beleive it to be Tekken 6. IMO I think it is not 6 at all. It's actually the home port of 5.2 (or 5.3... whichever becomes the later release). The Tekken dev team would need a load of time just to do a Tekken 6... whereas Tekken 5.2 is more feasable on the PS3 since they already have the foundation of 5 to work from. Just a hunch...

also, it may happen since the PS3 is pretty damn powerful, but Tag may make a return...

these things look awesome.

i just looked at the gamepro page scan from the above link and didnt realize when I picked up my copy of nintendogs I totally missed the SF trading card game? anyone know if the game mechanics are any good? so far the only card games I ever enjoyed playing were decipher card games... everything else blows in comparison usually.

yes!! a zangief is on it's way. i've still yet to pick up blanka though

also birdie looks pretty good! it was the only figure from round 4 that really caught my attention.( looks at the elf boots and laughs)

I don't know anything about it, but when I heard about it I KNEW I was gonna get into it.

The Tekken demo shown at the E3 press conference is just that, a demo. Much like when the PS2 was first unveiled they showed off a demo of Jin and Paul fighting with onlookers... that too was just a demo.

Currently Namco is not developing a main series Tekken game for launch. 5.2 is slated for PS2 btw. Could be as early as January.

Just ordered Melty Blood React from there-- $9 shipping, yikes. came out to $33.

So do you have any idea of what will be included in the home release? Is there still gonna be the original 3 Tekken games, the stories, etc.? Is it going to be as big a jump as VF4: Evo??

So after I finished vomiting after all this Tekken 5 talk, I was wondering when this tourney shit is supposed to happen. gigan?

I might have to bow out. 5 honors classes this semester = no time to practice. Or if I have the time, I'll just get owned. Depends on when we have it.
hey are there any tutorials for mame32k ? I need to figure out why I get errors locating servers.
open kaillera-->play network game-->Enter IP-->64.34.162.170:27887-->that's all you need.
well since VGM hates Tekken, let's move on to something we can all agree is crap: SF: The Movie Game... (sarcasm... oh wait... am I being sarcastic...????)
The juggle system in that game was ridiculous! Infinites everywhere! The PS1 version is even worse, since they took out the juggles. If it wasn't so broken and had better hit detection, it could've been decent.

whoa whoa sorry for the delay on the tourney. how's about we all get together around... 9:30 EST. or right now would be good too. i'll be on if anyone wants to know.
also... anyone have info on that old Tekken card game for the wonderswan?
Here's a review from Game Tour.

I have the X card game for Wonderswan, and while it's cool to fiddle around with, I have no idea what those kanji mean. Judging by these screenshots, the same thing applies.

thank you kind sir .
you guys should have a MK3 tourny. that game is always pretty fun
NOOOOO!!! MK2 rapes 3 in every shape, way, and form.

Rolento - I found SF the Movie in Japan for $5 so I couldn't pass it up. (They call it SF Real Battle on Film.) It's like SF meets Mortal Kombat, but in a bad way. Still I enjoy playing it just becasue it's so cheesy, Velveta even.

A funny thing I noticed about the movie is it's (of course) made by American's so the character M. Bison was "our" M. Bison, not the Mike Bison from Japan. So if you watch the movie Shadowlaw wanted to create "Bisonopolis" which was in big letters in the background. Now imagine being Japanese and watching the film, even if they change the characters names back to what they're supposed to be, "Bisonopolis" is still there. They're probably thinking, "Why do they want to name the city after the stupid boxer guy?" Just something I wanted to throw out there.

The best Mortal Kombat is Mortal Kombat 2. MK3 sucked due to the crappy linear combo system and characters like Kabal being abused because of their combo's caused the most damage. MK3 tried to be more complicated than the previous versions, but there's nothing wrong with basic, fell good gamplay. Just because you can do more moves doesn't make it better. MK2 didn't require the player to remember boring, overused strings of combos. It was just wits vs. wits, nothing to remember but "reading" your opponent. No Mortal Kombat has been better than MK2 yet, in my opinion.

Wow, talk about short notice.

VGM - You snooze, you lose. Stop worshiping your life sized Dan model and join those 4 player tournements so you can lose and say you won.

Tekken 5: DR is indeed 5.2. It is still on schedule for this year I see.

Also if you guys haven't checked the official Tekken 5 US arcade site, please check it, it's good if you want to find ppl in your area that play in the arcade.... www.tekken.vg ! (I help manage the Namco site lol)...

You love the cock. I'll bet you $5 paypal I beat everyone in that tournament in Alpha 3.

If my connection wasn't so damn bad, I would love to try and prove VGM wrong with a little rolento action. (though, I am probably not up to season with 2d fighters like I use to be).

great to hear an official Tekken 5 arcade junky guy working for Namco is on these boards. If you get any good news ahead of time about anything fighting game namco, please inform us (in fact, i beg of you ;) ).

I have to agree with rodimus about MK2... even though it was fairly basic in terms of what characters were able to do, due to this all matches were usually even matched. MK3 just added so much unnecissary stuff (run button? huh? Pre determined combos? er? annimalitys?)... MK2, IMO, was the pinnacle for the 2D versions of the series. It's the only MK I have on MAME that I like to turn on every once and a while just to let me remeniss of the old arcade days. I totally forgot how to do one thing though?... what's command to make Reptile invisible?
