haha you won the first round against my guile. and the second bout didn't count because you tried to cheat, causing a desynch. then i rocked you for the longest with gief. i rememebr thinking to myself, damn i want to try e. honda out. then you finally won with ryu before you wen tto go do your business. don't lie to the crowd vgm. ;)
 
if tekken 3 ever get's running at full speed on MAME, I'd loeve to spar with anyone willing only if my connection didnt suck...

wasnt there a way to play online with Tekken 3 using a PS1 emulator? I saw some thread about it on TekkenZaibatsu a long ass time ago.

My avatar is pretty much what I look like, but my hair's gotten more dirty blonde now, I stopped dying it. But I wasn't working the night of the power outage. I was at home, sweatin' my balls off cause we lost power there. I was having a grand old time drinking cheap vodka and Playing MK2 before my power went out. Did you lose your power Rolento? I was told this was the first power outage at the station in decades, kinda funny when it was only a cat. 1 Hurricane at the time.

I guess everyone kicked the crap out of VGM with is weak shotos. Alright now, who owes him $10?

Yea, I've played Tekken 3 online and it's very fun... the Emulator is EPSXE, I'll try to link more information on how to get it running... there's a thread on TZ in the Chit Chat Forum about it...

A lot of other PS1 fighting games are played online too...

actually, I was pretty lucky. I only had a few short bursts of power outages for a split second... but nothing horrible. Sux to hear your power died out on you. In a few days all should be better though.

Whenever I get the harddrive space to finally upload all my MAME roms again, I'll get back to you guys about taking you on. It'd be nice to finally have some human competition for a change.

Draganov looks cool, the blonde chick, Lili, looks kinda boring, to me, seems like a Karin copy. Is this gonna be $20 when it hits the consoles? I'd hate to pay $50 for 2 new characters and a couple extra stuff.

To bad Armor King won't make a return.

VGM, Tekken 5 didn't suck, I don't think this one will either. :)

Lili looks wise is alright, but Namco stated her fighting style will be one that's never been seen in a fighting game before. So it should be very interesting.

No console announcement as of yet, but rest assured it will come out for console.

Hope they come out with a joystick for this game. lolol.
 
I wish good joysticks weren't $100 or more. :( I just can't justify spending that when I could get like an Xbox and a bunch of games instead.
 
From what I understand Tekken 6 has never really been announced. Namco just made a demo for the PS3 to show off the graphics. Is that correct MarkMan?

I know. I was just saying since you know it's gonna come around everntually, this new Tekken 5 update will keep the fans happy until T6 rolls around.

True, Tekken seems to have come out of the slump it's been in and has become the hot 3D fighter on the market. Namco would be dumb not to make another one.

Athena's always a boring character. I'll never understand why people like her so much. What's SNK thinking, getting rid of awsome fan favs like Joe and Krauser but keep Athena in every version.

Shen Woo was cool character but his basic moves were crap. Looks like they added a projectile snuff to his move list, hopefully they'll add to him more.

It's true though... I love fighting games, the Tekken series is definately one of the better ones out there.

Me being a fan of Tekken has nothing to do with it, the series has sold very well with each iteration, and they are big $$$ titles in arcades when they are released.

As for Soul Calibur III, I'm sad it's not coming out in the arcades, but I'm excited to play it. I hope they changed a few things from what I played a few months ago though. I hope they took out step/gaurd...

I'll buy Soul Caliber III, but I'm not too excited about it. The Soul Caliber series always seems to add the bare minimum to each instalment. Not much as evolved since SC 1 for the Dreamcast.
 
The thing I didn't like with Soul Calibur II was that the game was so turtle friendly in high levels of play. It was sickening... made the game boring.

But it's rare to find people tht like to turtle in SCII. Most players tend to attack like nuts as soon as the fight starts.

I didn't have the luxury of playing that many scrubs in SC II... our arcades got a messed up SC II machine where the controls were:

And I didn't even want to play it... so when I did actually play with people during the console release it was with people that all knew the system and understood the game thoroughly... so it was a bitch how turtle friendly it was... if you download some tournament matches, you'll see what I mean.... :: whore safe move :: step step :: random gaurd ::
 
They got the Kick and Guard mixed up, that would annoy me too. At least you have a arcade with "working" machines. I have a Boomers about 5 miles away and NONE of the machines even work, but they're the only place in the area with competition and new titles.
 
Haven't you heard of the new modes in SC3? There's Character Creation, Tale of Souls, Chronicles of the Sword, Coin Collector, Dancing Statue, Soul Squash, and Wisp Shoot. Come on!

And IMO, there's no such thing as a bad strategy in a fighter if it wins the match. Unless it's something like Guille's handcuffs.
