Well, the car is insured, but I'm not on the policy since I'm not going to pay like $1200 every 6 months.

I'm more worried about a ticket, since I speed a lot. :x
I'd be fuuuuuuuuuucked. :[
The plus about living in a small ass town is you know almost exactly where the cops will be and the places it's safe to speed. I'm nearly constantly going 10 or so over, and haven't had a ticket yet.

The road you take to get to my street is the best, because only the hypo have jurisdiction since it's outside city limits, and they never come out there. Speed limit is 45, I generally take it at about 80.:cool::cool::cool:

That's an evo LP, Temp doesn't have one of those.

Nice on the insurance temp. I'm fully expecting to be paying 200 a month on mine.

?

If so, that's tight!
That's the Evo, I have a GTS. It's ballin', but not quite THAT ballin'.

That would be nice too.

Random question: Does Frankenberry cereal exist anymore? I know the Chocula and Boo Berry is still around but I can't find Frankenberry anywhere.
I desperately wish public transportation around here was so good I wouldn't even want/need a car.
Blasphemy. Driving is a part of human nature. Same as breathing, eating and sleeping.

Moxio was right on the Civic suggestion. I love my civic. Smooth ride, great MPG and very reliable. It's not "sporty" but who cares? Civics hold their value well too.
I'm fully expecting to be paying 200 a month on mine.
That's ridiculous. If you're paying that much, something's wrong.
That would be nice too.

I had this problem a while ago. Couldn't find the shit anywhere in stores. They sell it on Amazon by the 12 pack, and apparently it can be found at some B&M stores around Halloween, but that's about it.

Who cares if it's a "blah" car. It's his first, he needs something cheap and reliable.

And 200/m is out of control. I pay less than 100 a month for my civic's insurance. 220/m for the car payment.
Yeah, but, how do you expect him to get laid?
The car is far from the limiting factor in that equation.
Holly smokes, UFC 100 tomorow is going to be :whee:.
Hell yeah motherfucker.

And me and my boys are picking up a keg of Piranha Pale Ale from BJ's.

(In case you didn't get the memo, Piranha Pale Ale is the best brew in the world.)

Mary Louise Parker is not very hot.

You (white) guys should really step your game up.
Thanks for the memo.

Here's another memo: Mir and Alves tomorrow.
I hope not. I love GSP, but Alves deserves it if he can pull it off. fuck Mir; the guy's a huge fucking douche.

I've written 6 pages of this report since I started this morning (dang impressive for me, considering how fast I write), and there's no end in sight. I don't want to be at work on a Friday afternoon. :[

I don't think you guys realize how much insurance costs when you are under 18.

Just to have me listed as a driver costs ~$80 a month, with the discount for good grades. If I got my own car, it would easily cost $200 a month.

EDIT:

Tequila + Fresh Lemonade = $$$$$$$

It has less than a shot. I just added some in for the flavor. :whistle2:?
I got my points, and not only that, but I darthpumaed it too. :)

8000 points for $29? Noice.
*high five*

I'm impressed with the new Genesis cars from Hyundai.

Unfortunately, I don't think it would be a good starter car for a young driver though...

Maybe it varies from state to state, but I still find $200/month outrageous.

I didn't see a price decrease in my insurance until I turned 21. Even so, when I was 21 I had an expensive newer car, and full coverage was only around $1400/year.

Puma, like I've told you before, get a cheap reliable car. I got my first car for $2000 and it had 122k miles on it. Ran for years just fine. Insurance will be way cheaper that way too.

16 year old male... no house, no wife, no kids, no stable job... the only plus he would have would be if he took a DD course and got the 3 year certificate... so with all that in the bag, considering (until I found my new policy) that with decent coverage at age 28, I was still paying about $80-$90 a month on fully owned subaru legacy l with a (mostly) clean driving record... and I'm a good 10-12 years older and own a home and have been a professional, $200/month seems high, but not entirely unlikely.

Especially if he's on the parents policy and the parents driving records aren't squeaky clean.

I think it largely varies from state to state, because some states don't even require drivers to have coverage -- NY on the other hand, has been raping me for insurance since I got my first car at 20. My parents picked up the cost of the policy shift when I hit 16, since the insurance company said it didn't matter if I was licensed or not, having a 16 year old in the house was a liability, so the policy was going to increase.

--

As far as cars go, if he can get a beater/older car like you say, that's a great idea -- if you're able to purchase the car outright, you can drop collision and comprehensive from the policy if you so choose, since there is no leinholder with a vested interest in the value of your car. The only downside is that if a car is old enough some of the following can occur:

(1) Insurance can go up because it doesn't have a slew of safety features which usually provide discounts (airbags, daytime running lights, etc.)

(2) Insurance will also go up depending on the car type, no matter how old it is -- if he manages to find something that's kind of sporty with a ton of miles for cheap, the insurance will still be outrages. As a 23 year old, I went from paying 700 every 6 months to paying 1100 every 6 month because my car switched from a 1997 Nissan Altima to a 1993 BMW 325is. Paying that off and dropping the unrequired covereages made it so I could afford to stay on the road.

?Why couldn't MvC2 be the XBLA title pushed forward?

:bomb:

This is why I love the British bureacracy:

I was at the archives today and found a document. In the liner, one guy wrote, "I was handed this today outside the office by a short, fat, inoffensive woman."

Another guy wrote a note by that saying, "Beware of such."

Eh, I don't see him having any problem with a lack of safety features as long as he gets a car made in the last 10 years.

Depends on the engine in the car. I can see why your insurance went up, even if the car was a bit older. Not having to have certain coverages is very beneficial when driving an older car. My current car is a '99 LeSabre, and I only have liability. I pay $320 every 6 months. I have a perfect driving record, if that has anything to do with it.
