The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Anime/Manga Topic
Off-topic, but that is an excellent, excellent avatar. :)
It's my October/Halloween avatar, and I was sort of getting sick of the Hot Mario guy.
Midvalley the Hornfreak
That was it. I was gonna come up with it eventually...Really ;)
It's funny. I can't really stand Vash in Trigun most of the time, but I absolutely love some of the villains/anti-heroish people. Raidei is badass, as is probably my favorite character on the show, Wolfwood. Plus Legato is pretty cool, and the saxophonist I can't remember the name of.
Legato = best villain (IMO, of course) ever.
Legato = best villain (IMO, of course) ever.
I agree. Have you read the Trigun Maximum manga (continuation of the Trigun manga, but the name had to be changed due to copyright reasons)?
Legato is even better in it (as are all of the gung-ho guns, wolfwood, vash himself, and everything about the series)

So... dub or sub? For Trigun, not generally.

Apparently, the dub isn't too bad, but I'm a sub man, however, I respect your opinions.

The dub is very good to me, though I've never heard the sub version. The DVD sets are rediculously expensive (the tin boxes not the individual dvds).

Yea, sub all the way. With the dub, I was waiting for Vash to say something about fighting lord zedd & rita, or that "its morphin time."

So yea, the Bleach dub isnt my favorite either right now.
I wonder how many edits were need to air the "pervy instructor" episode of Naruto?
Episode 53 (the first one with him in it) had only like one edit, they cut out a small part of the Sexy Jutsu and Ebisu's nosebleed. Jiraiya's nosebleed was kept intact, along with all his dialogue.

Did anybody else check out Death Note? Bunch of groups are subbing it TW, Live-evil...I don't read mangas but I guess this show is one of those "Hot" animes that roll out each year. I thought it was really interesting and can't believe how many people Light took care of. It was like one scene he was struggling to write down one name then the next scene the notebook looked like a petition.

I know I am a Bleach noob compared to you guys, but I am watching it on adult swim and its great so far. I can see why it is so popular.

And wait till we get past the "LAND OF TWO PART INTRODUCTION" section we're in right now. It gets so much better once a certain "archer" is introduced.

I like Eureka Seven, but I hate how Renton is child abused by everyone. He gets treated like shit more than any other character on adult swim.

I just got the first episode of Death Note. I probably either watch it before I sleep tonight or sometime tomorrow morning.

Anyone know how long the series is?
Damn that was an awesome ending to Bleach 246.
Who didn't see that coming? Still, pretty cool.

yeah I figured they would come, but i always thought there was a one in a million chance
tatsuki, keigo, and the other guy would show up, since I figured Urahara would be training them because of Orihime
but I guess there is still a chance of seeing them

After checking anidb I'd say go with Live- Evil, all the groups subbing this show have bad track records. Never heard of any of the rest but I know TW takes their sweet time to release and will probably drop it. Also it mentions it'll be 37 episodes long.

 Whoa! did you guys catch this in the new ending of Naruto? Hopefully the fillers will end soon because I know that isn't his original orange suit:hot: :hot: :hot:

the first good naruto anime news in like 2 years

Hopefully Death Note will be subbed faster this week since a few groups are pretty much settled in.

It's really suprised me so far by how close it's staying to the manga. Kinda lost it's edge though with knowing what's going to happen already.

Maybe they'll change it around. Most Manga -> anime (and vice versa) do have some transitions.

Maybe they'll put a better ending in the anime (i kinda thought after the whole "anyone who uses the death note doesnt go to heaven or hell" thing, it would be cool if the user turned into a Shinigami after they die..)

I'm sure it's only a matter of time until they start adding new characters and putting in random filler episodes.

From what I've heard, they're gonna try to stay pretty true to the manga for Death Note. Though I'm still trying to figure out who that girl in the opening with blue hair was, cause it wasn't Misa since she did show up with her blonde hair in the opening. I plan on watching the show even though I've read the manga. Though I think I'm getting my friend who knows nothing about the manga or the show to watch it too.

EDIT: Another interesting thing about it that's gonna get me to turn in at least till she's done is that Misa's gonna be voiced by Aya Hirano, who did Haruhi. Same reason I'm giving Kanon's remake a shot since Kyon is voicing Yuuichi.

Wouldn't be a problem if Holland wasn't such a dick. I just hate how nobody really ever sticks up for him, ever, but I guess that's sort of one of the show's themes (growing up on your own, etc, etc.).

You people trying to spoil Death Note for the manga readers or anime watchers need to use the spoiler tags. :bomb:

In other news, Trinity Blood, Bleach, and Eureka 7 will be moving up 30 minutes starting on October 28. Robot Chicken now occupies that starting 11 PM slot.

So can I just say I was surprisingly pleased with the Byakuya/Jin fight in the Bleach filler. It was surprisingly well animated for a filler fight and it kept it through when Ichigo joined in. I'll still enjoy it more when the filler ends, but the more I watch the filler, the more it impresses me.
95 was Byakuya/Jin and 96 is when Ichigo joins in.
I haven't watched this filler, except for 99, since Zaraki da man. Is this "Jin" the guy who uses the gay pride rainbow power?

Jin's the leader of the Bounto. Kariya Jin. He wears a reddish brown long jacket and has a scar on his chin. The gay pride rainbow power user is Ichinose. Almost up to date. Hopefully the Kenpachi fight is good.

Naruto and Bleach were awesome this week.
I really, really hope Asuma dies. Its not like I don't like him or anything, but a few deaths on Konoha's side in the fight against Akatsuki would be nice.
Hopefully Naruto finishes up his training next week and we get some action in Bleach.

btw, is there no OP this week?

the only reason i dont think it will happen is he didnt really show anything cool besides an ultra katon and a lightsaber

Anyway, the video is kinda funny, in an obsessive fan type of way. However, the dancing is flat out awful. The guy in the front is the one that stands out the most of course. Totally unclean and flagrant. The rest are pretty bad, especially the two they hid in the back.

But it's still worth a laugh or two.

WTF? Where's Princess Mononoke? :bomb: Seems like another last minute change in the Toonami lineup.

I'll have to see about picking out a topic for the new anime thread since we're almost done.

No, it was supposed to be on between 7-10 PM here and I tuned in about 8-8:30 PM-ish and Ultimate Avengers (about halfway into the movie at that point) was on. The channel guide stated that it should've been on, but it wasn't.
