The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Anime/Manga Topic
Especially since the stars of the past few DS/GBA games have been effeminent anime-style characters. I guess the Igarashi has been against an anime if the idea's been brought to him before.

Good news for Evangelion fans, I guess:

I didn't like the series, so I don't really care about these new movies.
I never cared for Evangelion either.

Haruhi is a pretty fun show Chrono72090. Trying to figure her out is what makes it interesting.

I also never became too interested in Evangelion, although I tried. And with Bleach, I'm enjoying it a lot, but I have trouble actually getting myself to watch it. Like, once I'm watching it, it's all good ;).

But yeah, I'm gonna start Haruhi tommorow. Exciting :D.

I just noticed that the FMA movie just hit DVD in this week's circulars. Has anybody seen it? Is it worth picking up?

Been out for two weeks from other retailers (along with Volume 13), but yea its worth it. Puts a better ending to the series than episode 51 did (though IMO the series is crap compared to the manga).

I was suprised that Circuit City had it listed. $14.99 isnt too bad. I've already got the LE version pre-ordered from Animenation. It has a street date of 9/26, so hopefully it'll be in stock this or next week.
BTW, I would have thought they would show boobs on adult swim before they would show Shin-Chan's junk. :whistle2:?
They have already. In the GitS ep with the android suicides there was a nekkid android on the assembly line while the Major and a Tachikoma were sneaking around.

I missed that episode. At least its a step up from Peter Griffins bare ass on CN.

lmfao. It's like a centimeter XD.

And I just watched the first ep. of Haruhi. I didn't understand any of it. I'm gonna go try and watch Bleach now >_>;

The first episode is about a film they were making. The next epiosde gets into the real story.

The elephant dance is something I am suprised that would be allowed by CN censors. Funny show either way.

Aha! I knew there was something crazy like that goin' on. I'll watch some more later.

Thx for the link, forgot it was the 12th.

Pretty good chapter, i guess my theory about who Pride is has been debunked (unless Envy just didnt want to call him by that name, but i also cant remember if Pride was locked away or where he was of his free will).

Another cliffhanger ending. Arakawa, how you tease us so.
Looks like the new Naruto episodes start this Saturday at 9 PM on Toonami. I can't wait.
The English dub is, surprisingly, pretty well done.

Agreed. The vioces have gotten better as the show progressed from each character's first appearances. That and Steve Blum surprisingly kicks ass as Orochimaru. Rock Lee and Gai are hilarious together.

FMA movie was pretty decent, ending was... a little off...

Pretty much I found the "I have to return these dead soldiers so their world" routine a very, very weak excuse to just keep Ed from staying home.

Other than that I thought it was very well put together.

I didnt like it either, way to cheesey, but
he had to seal the gateway on the other side, to prevent soldiers from temporarily coming over

ohh and some images are out from the new naruto chapter, and the shit really does hit the fan for the group of four

Is that supposed to be Armstrong's dad or something at the end? Dammit I want to know!

I actually thought it was his sister, the hairstyle kinda looks kinda feminine. But Armstrong refers to the mystery person as "him". I dunno. Theres a lot of speculation on the Fullmetal-alchemist boards too, most of which are also pointing to Katherine.

True enough still...

what kind of gate do you have to close from two sides? Closing it on their side should've been enough you'd think. Oh well, besdies the cliche ending my only other cmplaint was I think they should've spent a little more time developing the character of Alphonse #2 (for get his late name, also giving him the same first name was kind of lame). We as the viewer hardly knew him it seemed.

well they were able to temporarily send soldiers over without the two sided portal. Remember they eventually got sucked back. So eventually one of them could have made a portal on the other side too after a lot of trial and error. I disliked how they misued mustang. He turned into a one eyed loner, who comes to the rescue at the end, which is poor use of his character.
Damn sad episodes of FMA, what a buzzkill. Still tonite's on Adult Swim is one of the best episodes of all anime IMO.
FMA is the only anime that I actually shed a tear while watching, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

The latest Bleach chapter was interesting (although most of the Espada's character designs annoy the fuck out of me).

The human that appears in the end is the most interesting IMO.
I have a theory as to why they might be there: remember way back in the beginning volumes of Bleach when Ichigo sent that one hollow to hell?
What if hell is Hueco Mundo and the vanquished hollows are returned to their human forms to suffer there and live in fear until they are eventually killed?

Just a random idea that popped into my head.
As of the latest chapter, it's official. No one dies in One Piece.
It's a trick...get an axe.

Tonight. The beginning of Naruto's training with Jiraiya. Jiraiya's VA is pretty good, fits the character well. You don't watch it anyway, so it doesn't really concern you.

The anime adaption of Death Note starts on Tuesday. I'm going insane waiting.

Groups who've announced they're subbing it so far are:
C1 Anime, Live-eviL, Otaku-Fansubs, Seraph Fansubs, Toriyama World, Karehi

Naruto is out

Looks like the shit really hit the fan, and Asuma is most likely on his deathbed, though not showin him on the ground dyin might be a possibility he somehow survived. I just wonder who will save the day to keep Shikamaru alive.

Anybody else see the trailer for the live action movie? It looks pretty good.

Hot damn the new Bleach opening is awesome. Though there's no sign of Arrancar or Vaizard, there's no Bounto in it and, strange enough, tons of Hitsugaya and Matsumoto. There's even some Gin and Aizen in it. Looks like we may be leaving the Bounto soon, especially with a lot of shots of
Ichigo with his mask on.

I know I'm like eight years too late, but I just finished Cowboy Bebop and Knockin' on Heaven's Door yesterday. Wow.

I'm moving on to Trigun since it came out around the same time and I remember coutnless forum debates about which one was better many years ago.

You probably won't like Trigun as much, I know I didn't after seeing Cowboy Bebop first. But the difference lies in the characters, so it's ultimately how you feel about them. I didn't think Trigun's characters were that entertaining with the exception of a few and those were mostly villians. When you finish Trigun though, if you don't have another series lined up I suggest Gungrave. It's from the creator of Trigun but the characters and story have an edge that's more similar to Bebop really.

Trigun is great at times, but other times Vash REALLY irritates me. I won't say much so as not to spoil it, but I personally think that Cowboy Bebop is vastly superior.

And don't feel bad about Knockin' on Heaven's door. I didn't see it until last year myself.

It's funny. I can't really stand Vash in Trigun most of the time, but I absolutely love some of the villains/anti-heroish people. Raidei is badass, as is probably my favorite character on the show, Wolfwood. Plus Legato is pretty cool, and the saxophonist I can't remember the name of.
