The Mystery Limo Wrestling Thread

I'm dying of laughter over here...I gotta get my hands on an unedited version!

Yeah, sure.

For everyone bitching about video games, let's see your game.

For everyone bitching about music, let's hear your latest single.

Some chicks are just not attractive, whether they're on WWE TV or not. You don't even have to have a fucking girlfriend to realize that.

SD MITB Lineup:

Big Show, Kane, Hardy, Kofi, Christian, Cody..... only 6 guys and only one hell. weird this also screams a win for Kofi or Christian

Every time I see those idiots it reminds me of one of my favorite backstage segments of all time...Road Dogg & K-Kwik firing off the weakest, lamest insults possible, then getting completely roasted by Christian.

They are probably waiting to see if McIntyre can fix his visa issue before committing to putting him in. Odd that CM Punk isn't in there though.

I Think it's time to kill the Nexus off - drop Otunga and Slater back to FCW, turn Gabriel face, and make Sheffield into hired muscle. Alternately, they could just pair Sheffield and Husky Harris together as your basic roughhousing Southerner tag team.

But if cot damn Matt Hardy gets that strap on him....I'd boycott SD! And I only read the spoilers nowadays (because my friday nights are occupied!)

In regards to the SD MitB:
McIntyre would indicate that they have/had more guys planned. I'd be shocked if there weren't more guys announced at some point. Punk and McIntyre round out the match nicely, given the feuds, so they may just be taking a wait and see approach. My question is, though... where's MVP? The man isn't really doing anything, and he'd be an easy (and credible) one to throw in. EDIT - Right after typing this, I checked PW.net and WWE has officially state that there will be eight guys.

So, for MitB... 2 MitB matches, Cena/Sheamus, Swagger/Mysterio confirmed... what else? Throwaway Divas match, for certain. Tag team Uso/Hart? Once you take away the MitB guys, the rest of the card begins to look a bit bleak, so I'm curious to see if and what they add.

In regards to NXT... honestly, if Barrett is indeed out until after SS, I'd rather them torpedo the angle rather than limp forward. They've lost the only two guys that gave the group any credibility, which means it's time to close down. Otunga's a bust until he gets better in the ring, Gabriel has his one big move and really can't sell mic time, Slater just looks like a douchebag, and Black John Cena is... well, he's Black John Cena. I consistently forget about Tarver, so that's not a great sign.

I think the lesson we should take away from this is that WWE should just stop doing invasion angles. ;)

Slater looks like some dude who should be working third shift at BP, trying to sell kids crappy weed and sleep with their 15-year-old girlfriends.

If there needs to be 8, and Punk/McIntyre are unavailable, then add MVP and Gallows or Mercury. Punk can sit ringside with Serena and shit talk through the entire match while directing Gallows/Mercury to get the case for him. Personally, I'd have MVP win and turn heel, though I have the suspicion that Ziggler will win.

I already said my Ex looked similar to that old photo of Jillian, and Alicia Foxx was hitting on me while getting directions. If I wasn't working, I could have taken her to the arena, and probably fucked.

That being said, my girlfriend is not a public figure, like these divas are, and should not be judged as such.

What if they make Black Cena the head of the group and make him literally Black Cena. Everyone's dying for Cena to go heel, but since that won't happen... Black heel Cena.

Just watched the majority of the Shawn Michaels: My Journey DVD set. Kind of disappointed that some pivotal matches were left off due to being on other sets (seriously WWE, WTF?), but overall a solid collection of HBK's finest performances.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Apk_sdfYyUg

I'm not sure how many of you followed wrestling in the late '80s, and throughout the '90s (not just the Monday Night Wars), but wow, tons of HBK memories came flooding back that I flat out forgot about while watching that set. Honestly, I don't think there will be anyone that comes close to his level for a long, long time.

So, that Danielson blog was... well, it was. Not much to it, is there? The man knows how to play the politics, that's for sure. He seems happy back in the indies, but I almost guarantee he'll end up back in WWE eventually. That blog also didn't convince me that there wasn't a 'reason' behind the decision to fire him. If he apologized right afterwards, and it was because he didn't adhere to the PG rating, it shouldn't have taken 4 days to decide to fire him.

Oh, and TNA? I'm going to go ahead and assume that he's seen how they're treating McGuinness and that'll pretty much make that decision.

Now, onto Hydro's post... I assert that they'll *never* be anyone on HBK's level again. He grew out of time period in wrestling that nurtured that kind of skill development, which was really organic, and you just can't find that anymore. There's been 3 main HBK DVDs at this point, and 6 if you count Boyhood Dream, DX, and New and Improved DX. Me, I'm totally fine with having a ton of HBK DVDs, because there's rarely a bad match on them.

When it comes down to it, Hogan, Austin, Rock, etc will always be bigger stars, but I'll choose to watch a Michaels match any time. This is all sounding like fanboy ranting, and I admit that it is. HBK is, and has always been, my #1 of all time. It's not even close. But, really, for the total package that he is, I really don't think there's ever going to be anyone else like him.

I'll, uh, shut up now.

I'd also extend 007's thought to say it's great if there's less overlap b/w dvd sets. The more they have the same matches, the less inclined I am to buy them. Since I don't buy any PPVs except for WM (and still have yet to pick up 25 or 26), as long as WM matches are left off, I'm fine.

But for the tens (?) of thousands of matches in the E's library, there's no reason to be repetitive. If the set isn't, then great.

This is ot, but does anyone know how to get around ticketmasters fees? I bought 2 $11 tickets the other day at the FYE store and each tickets services fees were $12, $1 more than the actual f'n ticket.. that's insane. If I buy them at like a box office at an arena do they still hit you for the full amount?

Depends. Some arenas charge the same rate, some none at all.

I don't mind the fact that they are stretching out the library across different DVDs, but for something that's supposed to be titled "My Journey" and one of the definitive catalogs of his career, half the matches they talk about (Hogan, Flair's retirement, Iron Man Match) are some of THEE most pivotal matches for HBK, yet they get a 2 minute discussion and then they show a promo or something completely unrelated. That's my only quip with the set.

In my experience, the box office does not charge service fees outside of any applicable facility fee or taxes. You will avoid the TM fees.

First, they never (EVER) need to put the Iron Man match on another DVD set. It was on an HBK one, it was on Bret's... we're done. I hate it because it takes up a ton of space, and isn't all that exciting. It's a pivotal match, but that doesn't mean it's something enjoyable to watch over and over again.

Second, the point here is that both the Flair and Hogan matches are better served to be on Hogan and Flair DVDs, as they have very few 'great' matches to choose from in the latter part of their careers. Michaels doesn't need the filler, and the matches really aren't about him, even though he makes them worthwhile.

Really, 'My Journey' is just a format, not a complete retrospective. It may start and the beginning and end recently, but a real retrospective HBK DVD would need to be like 5-6 discs. If you put things like the Iron Man match on every HBK DVD, we'd rarely get to see some of the lesser seen things on 'My Journey', which isn't a great option.

You act as if everybody already owns the HBK one or the Bret one.

I don't own either one. I shouldn't have to be required to buy 4 different releases to get the main matches/highlights of somebody's career.

I'm all for opening the vault and getting some rarer matches out there but only after a definitive release has been put out (like Hulk Hogan with Hulk Hogan: The Ultimate Anthology and Hulk Hogan's Unreleased Collector's Series)

Went in search of the mythical (around me anyway) cheap DVD's at Walmart, only found the Andre The Giant and 3 disc Roddy Piper ones mixed in with the new cardboard budget DVD rack things that they are all installing around here. Didn't check the prices on them, but i'm assuming 5 or 9 dollars like the rest of the ones in the shelf.

I did find that new Kane figure with the chains though, just as awesome as the proto pics made it look.

I still wish Slater didn't get warned by Cena to not choke him with the turnbuckle/ropes at the end of that first beating. Things may have worked out a bit differently.

Speaking of the Hogan Ultimate Anthology set, I wish that more sets used the book-style case. It's nice to just open it and find the DVD you want, as opposed to having to fold out three or four panels with the other styles. The material is also a lot sturdier than the flimsy cardboard of the gatefold.

I am loving Wal-Mart and the $10 DVD sets. I have picked up The Ladder Match, Greatest Stars of the 90's, Mick Foley's Most Dangerous Matches, The Rock, and Saturday Nights Main Event in the past 6 months.

Former WCW star Kevin Sullivan met with Dixie Carter when she was in New Jersey a few weeks ago. Sullivan expressed interest in coming to TNA’s creative team and has spoken with people he knows within the company. It’s said that Sullivan has written out an entire year of booking for the company.

I rail against the Iron Man match because it's been on at least 3 or 4 different DVDs at this point, and if you put it on every HBK one, it takes away from getting two other, likely more exciting, matches. It's too long.

Bottom line is that WWE assumes that if you bought one DVD, the chances of you buying another are higher than the chances of someone suddenly deciding they want their first wrestling DVD. Does that suck for the consumer? Sure, but it's a business. Wrestling DVDs, by and large, are also pretty cheap. I've picked up about 20 in the past year, and none of them have been for more than $10.

One of the other problems is that you're never going to be able to cobble together a 'definitive' collection for an active performer. You talked about the Hogan sets... that worked for him, because they could *make* a definitive Hogan set, because he was basically done. Collectively, they've released a hell of a lot of HBK material, and since the second Taker match isn't on anything, I guarantee we'll get yet another which will likely include the Hogan and Flair matches. HBK has gotten 3 main release DVDs, with 8 discs worth of stuff, and we've already discussed that there's easily enough big matches for another set, which we'll get at some point.

Looks like Steamboat is in the hospital.

Ricky Steamboat, 57, suffered a brain aneurysm last night in Tampa and is currently being hospitalized. We don't know any more details other than it has been confirmed by those in WWE and it is not working an angle from Monday. Steamboat was banged up from Monday's angle.

His prognosis from what can be a fatal encounter is considered good to excellent.
