The NFL 2012-13 Season Thread - Super Bowl XLVII is the Harbaugh Bowl!

Anyone else love the fact that NBC brings in monster ratings every year for the NFL yet they always stick the crappiest Wild Card games on them?

Ray Lewis. Acquitted murder. 6 children by 4 mothers. Will those things be mentioned during today's "Tribute" to him?

Yes, because who cares all the other good he has done on and off the field? He was involved in a murder case (never mind that he wasn't the one who killed the guy) and should therefore never should get any praise ever and should rot in jail forever. I wish I could be a perfect saint like you.

Sorry but when you're involved in a murder case it doesn't matter how "good" you have done. Most people don't put themselves in the situation to be involved in a murder case.

If he provides for his children I don't care if he has 100 by 100 different women.

Rich coming from someone who I'm assuming is a cowboy's fan

Top 10 Dallas Cowboy arrests of all time

And this is ~ 5 years old so it doesn't even include teammate killer Josh Brent

So being a Cowboys fan means I support any of those players? News to me! Nice try - but assumptions get you nowhere. ;)

I would also like to know how anyone could confuse any arrest with being involved in a murder case.

You forgot to mention the worst thing about him,
he plays for the Ravens. :puke:

You think just throwing money at a kid is providing for them? That's not being a father. Least of all a husband to the women he fathered the children with.

And if he didnt actually commit the murder, he was a least an accessory. He testified against the other defendants in order for a plea deal.

Ray Lewis is a great defensive player, but a pretty lousy human. If you and I acted like that, there'd be talk about it at our workplace. But the NFL? Nope.

I am not Lewis fan and clearly that murder situation was terrible. The situation was "talked about" and still is and might hold him out of the hall of fame.

But are you going to label him a terrible human for the rest of his life? Do you believe people can change? Should we just put all felons on an island because if you are lousy once you're always lousy?

As awesome as the Ravens victory is...I loved it when the "BULL-SHIT" chants made their glorious return. I hope it becomes a signature chant. :)

I loved the return of the "BULLSHIT" chant. I live/work in Indy and I was at a bar that was all Colts fans. I had a ball today. I was told by a couple people that I deserved to be punched in the face. I didn't take it personally as most of the people that said it were nowhere to be found last year when the Colts were shit. 90% of the Colts fans in Indianapolis are bandwagon fans. It's hilarious to see how quickly those bastards disappear when they are losing.

It's not just Indy. It's the whole damn state.
It's not just Indy. It's the whole damn state.
True, it's the entire state that is like that. At least if you are going to support your team, do it all the time. It's ridiculous. Indiana is not a sports state and Indianapolis is not a sports town, no matter how much people saw otherwise.

Shanahan won't, but I'd put in Cousins here. RGIII looks like he's at well less than 50%, he hasn't made a good throw since the first quarter.
RGIII is really bringing nothing to this game in his condition.
He's not only bringing nothing, he's hurting them.

Shanahan cost the Redskins this game by refusing to acknowledge what was obvious to every single person watching.

Hopefully that's all it cost him, and not a year of RGIII's career.

NICE JOB shanahan who couldn't see that your QB was obvious injured out there yet you allowed him to continue to play. Regardless of how RG3 feels or says your still the coach look out for his safety ffs.

Yep. Cousins played well when he had to play earlier in the season. It's not like their backup was Webb. Even if it was Webb - RGIII is your future and risking it is pretty stupid.

If Cousins makes this interesting but comes up short after being put in at least a series too late, Shanahan might not make it out of Fed Ex alive.
Skins O-Line costs them the game.
No, RG3 being gimped cost them the game. There were several situations where he usually takes off and runs, but here he just stopped and passed. This basically limited Washington's offense tremendously, allowing Seattle to not worry about the run, which is a major portion of their offense.

I guess you can say Shannahan should have taken him out at halftime, and I guess I agree to an extent. As a Redskins fan, I'm no longer worried about this season, but next season and the health of our Quarterback, the cornerstone of the offense. And that really sucks.

It's Washington's curse, I guess.
I think Shanahan cost them the game.
I agree. Clearly RG should've been taken out long before he went down.
lol @ skins o line costing them game, anyone with a football IQ would point to shanahan
It's definitely Shanahan's fault. I'm 100% sure RGIII was saying "no coach, I'm fine" which any rookie would do. It's Shanahan's job to look his player in the eye and say "no you aren't." In light of the report earlier today about Shanahan putting Griffin back into the Baltimore game when he wasn't cleared, I've got to imagine he's going to face some very tough questions after this game. As well he should, since Griffin could be missing a good portion of next season as well.

Well, he was standing on it, so that's a good sign. It means it's not an ACL injury at least.

Exactly, you don't just ignore the obvious signs that your franchise QB is hurt specially since you traded the farm for just to get the chance to draft him.

I doubt McCarthy leaves Rodgers in there if he was injured like that.

Shanny may deserve the most blame but the Redskins offensive line did not help Cousins at all. He barely had 2 seconds to throw the ball.
Richard Sherman is quickly establishing himself as one of the bigger douchebags in the league.
You just don't like him because of this:
