1. Try and get him down to like 80 bucks. That would be a pretty good deal.

2. No, keep the PS3 man, you'll regret it in the long run.

I found an ad today on craigslist for a game store that was going out of business. Someone bought up most of the SNES and N64 games, but I picked up a bunch of PS1, genesis, dreamcast, and saturn games pretty cheap. I didn't know whether anything was good for a resell, but I just got a bunch of old games I though might be fun to try out and see if they are any fun. It's one of those things where you remember seeing all these old games back in the day and now I get the chance to try them out super cheap.

N64

Resident Evil 2

Genesis

Mortal Kombat
Earthworm Jim 2
Primal Rage
Lethal Enforcers

PS1

Alien Trilogy
Top Gun
Mega Man 8
Mega Man X 4
Star Wars Rebel Assault II
Command and Conquer Red Alert Retaliation disc 2 (soviets)
Breath of Fire III (nice find)
Road Rash 3D
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Mega Man Legends

Dreamcast

Quake III Arena
Zombie Revenge
Nightmare Creatures II
The House of the Dead 2

Sega CD

Star Wars Rebel Assault
Wing Commander

Saturn

Shellshock
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

Xbox

Silent Hill 4

All for $20.

There were so many games I was a little overwhelmed, but I didn't find much along the lines of old games I've always wanted but never got.
neiname - Could you possibly inform me if any of these leapster listings on my local CL are good for ebay?
http://tucson.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=leapster
I'm not really sure on what the things are worth but you seem to be. :D
Anytime someone is listing price per game stay away. Most games will sell for $10-15 and new they cost $25. What you want to look for is bundles that include games, systems, accessories.

Nothing jumps out at me from those postings and most are from the same person selling piecemeal. Here are some links to ebay auctions of extra value when looking at leapster bundles. Most people just price in the games and just throw this in but this can add up to half the resale value.
Last year I got a 90% complete Jetfire (missing some of the armor) for $0.25 at a garage sale. I also bought a complete Swoop, Blurr, and Kup from the guy for $0.10 a piece. Best TF find I've ever had in my life. I could resell them for a lot more, but since I'm a collector I've got them sitting on my shelf with my other TFs (I've since run out of room on my shelf).
Nice. I've had a few big bundle scores on loose G1 Transformers figs, best was spending $50 to get (all complete and actually pretty much flawless mint) a complete Predaking - all 5 Predacons + all their weapons/parts, stickers perfectly placed and their instructions/tech specs, a complete SeaCons/Pirhannacon set, Snarl Swoop Slag and Grimlock complete, an original Optimus with the big fists/gun and complete, a Megatron almost complete (missing one part of the stock and the silencer), a Starscream and Thundercracker complete, and some assorted G1 Autobots. I think there may have been a couple more, can't remember.

I just had a nice score this morning - Ogre Battle 64, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Party, and Super Smash Bros for $10 total. All cart only, all carts are perfect though. Guy threw up an ad "cheap N64 games", I emailed him and told him I'd be right over and cherry picked the good stuff and left the sports games behind. Finally have all of the Ogre games (I think) - Ogre Battle SNES, Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre PS1, Tactics Ogre GBA, and Ogre Battle 64.

There's another guy selling a N64 with complete games, an SNES with a few complete games, and an NES with a bunch of cart only games asking pretty cheap prices especially for the quality of games that I am going to try and head over to see later today.

Going to pick up these 2 for Sega Genesis for 5 bucks a pop:

The Flintstones, with original box
ToeJam & Earl, with original box and instructions

I looked at Ebay but wasn't sure how much I should be flipping em for. I was thinking about flipping flintstones now to cover costs and then waiting to flup Toejam and Earl for even more later. What do you guys think??

n64, 2 controllers, 2 rumble packs, 1 mem card, a jumper pack, donkey kong 64, Goldeneye, Super Smash bros, and Zelda OOT- collector's edition all for $20

And all the games came in the original boxes, Zelda and Goldeneye came with instructions,

Me= Jealous. Every 64 I've picked up on CL or a grage sale (sans one) hasn't worked. So, I have a lot of part ones.

Actually, I'm mostly jealous for the Zelda Collector's Edition.
Noobhammer that's weird I've never got an n64 that doesn't work. Have you cleaned the contacts of them?
One of them but that one had a broken contact so I never had the time to really finish cleaning them. So I'm sure eventually they could work but I hear a rattling within a few of them....

Damn Ninten-Screws...

I have six sitting on the shelf from cl buys. These things are worth next to nothing.

Check out what I just picked up for $29:

No, not all of it, but I cherry picked a couple of things.

I came across this ad yesterday, and phoned the lady, taking a chance that she was just cluelessly overpricing the stuff and that would work in my favor in this case as nothing would be sold.

I told her I'd probably be interested in one of the consoles, maybe two, and that I'd pay cash but her asking price was very high for the old systems, could she work with me. She agreed to negotiate when I stopped by, so I told her I'd stop by today around noon.

Definitely helped that it was only a couple of minutes from my office, almost exactly at the other end of the 2 mile mini-freeway that runs here from Marina del Rey and dumps out right at my office.

So I get over there, and take a look at the systems. Definitely want the Saturn with 2 controllers, 2 light guns, and one larger controller...it's a grey system, and I can't remember what that means but I think it's a developer box or something - it has a toggle on/off switch on the back. Unfortunately it's missing the power cord - anyone know where I can get one that I can use with it for cheap? Radio Shack maybe?

Anyway, the other thing I want is the Nintendo 64 (with that game copier or whatever the attachment is!!!), but she's not budging when I CiF her a twenty, no matter how many times I tell her the Saturn is missing its power cord and the N64 is missing its AV cables, these are 15 year old systems etc...she's just selling these for her friend who left them here when he moved back to Sweden. But I know I can convince her. So I open my wallet and show her the rest of my cash ($9 - I left the rest in my back pocket before I went in there LOL) and tell her "all I have is my lunch money - $9 - take it or leave it".

She's still hesitating, so I tell her "look, at the price you are asking, I doubt anyone else has contacted you. I'm here, with cash, let's make a deal."

Reluctantly she agrees, so I bag up my loot and bail.

So I got:

- Nintendo 64 (missing memory port cover, missing AV cables)
- 3 official Nintendo 64 controllers including a two tone one (black top/grey bottom)
- Nintendo 64 recording/hacking device? It's some sort of contraption that plugs into the game slot, has a tiny info screen, a place for floppies and a cart slot
- Zelda OOT cart only
- Donkey Kong 64 cart only
- Pilot Wings 64 cart only

- Sega Saturn, grey (missing AC adapter/cable )
- 2 grey official controllers
- 1 round black controller, looks like a Dreamcast controller
- 2 Sega Saturn guns
- Sega Rally disc only (was in the machine)

nice job on the haggling there. I think it should say on the back somewhere what voltage it takes. Find an adapter that has the same voltage and amps.

How much should I offer this guy?

List of Games: Tetris Ikari Warriors Super Mario/Track & Field/Duck Hunt Supermario/Duck Hunt(Soccer) Commando Othello Castlevania-Simons Quest Spy Hunter T&C Surf Excite Bike

$20? Maybe $25.
Thanks for the quick response.. Is there any value from the games?
LOL, no problem. And no - that's why I gave the low offer suggestion. If I was looking for an NES for myself/personal use, then I'd offer the $20-25 for that bundle, but LMAO the games in that bundle are pretty "meh" and extremely common.

But personally, I wouldn't pay more than $10 for that bundle...I have enough NES common carts I'm trying to unload, and no need for another front loader system.

If anybody is a tech geek like me:

Should I get two 8800GT's 512MB ( each ) New and Sealed( not GTS ) for $130? I might ask for $120
The guy lowered his price from $160. I might keep them for my 2nd rig or sell them on ebay for like $100 each?MB

From just a little research on that contraption on the N64, I came up with this.

Seems like you just scored big time man. Apparently, this thing was a N64 Zipdrive. Seems it cause legal issues too, hence the rarity.

Awesome score.
neiname where do you find all these ads, your in mass too, i search high and low and can't find any of this stuff
You could probably still find this guy, but the games that are left are crap

http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/tag/1102067637.html

I search ps2, ps1 stuff like that. Whenever I am interested I shoot off an email and ask if they have anything else (video game wise) and when I can pick up. That's probably how I uncover the best gems. I also don't lowball, I'm always prepared to pay someone's asking but will chip away or cherrypick when I get there.
Nice score on the N64 thing.
That saturn is the japanese version and is unfortunately worth less than a normal saturn though.
Ah well, I don't mind, since I have some Japanese Saturn games. It's in nice condition. Though I don't know what the weird silver toggle switch on the back, in the left corner, is for. EDIT: apparently it's some home-mod method of toggling between regions...

Anyway, ok score tonight:

XBOX (won't read discs, samsung drive, any ideas on how to fix?)
cords
2 newer controllers
disc only halo 2
memory card
$5 total
Figure if I can't get the xbox to work I can sell everything else and make a little profit.

Grab it but I doubt it's legit. If so it will get bid up.

that is a good deal but.......

#1 make sure it has the warranty sticker on it

#2 make sure it doesn't have rrod and that it's not banned from xbox live

I've seen people get ripped off by buying xbox 360's off there and when they try to go on live the console is banned. You gotta check it if you can.

Regardless, if the controllers are first party and headset are first party, it's likely still a decent deal.

And if the console is banned, you could always contact Microsoft and explain the situation that it was just purchased used and they might lift the ban.

just made a late night run for

Sonice Rides
Need for Speed Underground
Metal Gear Solid 2
Virtua Fighter 4
Drakhan: the Ancient Gate
Conflict Zone
Mike Tyson Heavyweight Boxing
Rocky Legends
Prince of Persia Two Thrones
Profject Eden
Mortal Kombat Deception
Onimusha
God of War

All but Sonic Riders (XBX) are PS2 games, all have cases, most have manuals. There all common games but I only paid $10 for the haul.

Not a stunningdeal, but certainly not terrible either:

All for $130
-Oynx DS Lite
-Animal Crossing
-Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
-Myst
-Dementium
-Pokemon Pearl
-Teenage Zombies
-The Mummy

All games were complete. Granted I don't care for quite a few so I'll sell them all except for zelda and animal crossing, but you can't go wrong for that price.
Should i buy this or no? i already have 360, im thinking of trading this or give it to my brother.
As others have said, check to make sure the warranty sticker is there and hopefully make sure it works. Doubt you'll be able to check if it's been banned or not.

But, I'm thinking this guy set it artificially low as a way to fish. He'll probably say "oh it's been bid up to $150" or something along those lines, whether it has been or hasn't. And he'll have many people emailing him, so one will probably bite...

I hate shit like that. I once emailed a guy selling a four broken ps2 ($20 each). I emailed that I would pay 60. He emails me back that numerous people have offered 70 but if I come soon he'll sell to me at that price. I say let me know if all the offers fall through and low and behold he comes back to me the next day saying he will settle for 60. I offer 50 and tell him I either pick it up within the hour or don't bother me again. Guess who bought 4 ps2's for $50?
