The Official Craigslist Finds Thread!

I'd pay way more for that bundle than $50 because I can easily unload the ps2 for 40-45 each (plus memory card to GS for $ each), gamecube games pretty easy and even those give decent return at gamestop (plus memory card is $5-6 at GS), SNES even with crap games $30-$50 on ebay, and probably another $20-35 for the NES and the cpu games gravy. I'd probably pay $70-85 for the bundle and if he met up with me would find a way to widdle him down because of the conditions of the games or whatnot.

As for refunds, I was sold a guy a book 56 or 7 years ago (signed Dune) for $600 or so bucks in an off ebay transaction. He said his wife wasn't happy that he spent that much money on one book and wanted me to return it, I told him I'm not Walmart. As for CL, if someone claims something doesn't work and they've picked it up at my house I much more accomodating. If I met them somewher and they email me 2 or 3 weeks after, tough.

Hmm... yeah, but what if they are really THAT motivated to find you? I mean, as pathetic that is.

I don't meet at home, that's the stupidest idea.
Picked up FF7 complete for $5! His wife didn't mention Sqauresoft preview demo (FF7 demo, saga frontier, bushido blade clips) but once I met up with her husband with the bag. I spotted and took it basically for free. It's in original paper case. All game discs are in near mint. Manual is excellent.

They listed Ogre Battle limited edition for $5 too - I was ready to jump on it but it's game disc only. Still worth pick up though but I rather not take incomplete ones, I let that go. Maybe another CAG pick will get it.

Damn it. Now you were poaching in my neck of the woods, LOL. I didn't see this ad as I was busy with other things this weekend, nice catch. They already sold the Ogre Battle, of course. You should have taken it, disc only or not. Easy enough to print out a new insert and manual cover from the cover project.
^^^ That is a SWEET find. The only game that'd make it better is Mischief Makers. Good find!
Thanks, the only problem was that it all smelled like smoke. I took it home, cleaned it up (inside and out), put it front of a fan for a day, and the smell is completely gone as far as I and my friend could tell. I think it was the box he gave it to me in that was contributing to most of the smell.

I still haven't found Mischief Makers in the wild...hopefully over the summer. I've been wanting to try it out.

Is $30 a good deal for all these? Otherwise, ahat should i offer for them? can anyone help? Thank you

Offer $25. Or even better, ask how low can he/she go? Never know he might say $20 then it's a big steal. =P

Offer $20. Duck Tales 2 is worth that alone, but everything else is uber common/crap. You could justify it because the 2 consoles are "partially working"...

Yeah I just picked it up, all instructions and coverart was in good shape. Even had him take $20 off the price since the controller was a little wonky.
Hmmm, is this a decent deal? The no cases part is a big downfall if I want to flip.

http://newjersey.craigslist.org/tag/1133212276.html

I know with the cases this deal would be HUGE, considering ff7, tactics, and silent hill can all go fore more then $50 a piece.
$50 is a great price, ignore everyone else here. Silent Hill is black label so it will get you $30 as disc only. FF7 Disc 1 gets $25, Disc 3 gets $15, RE:3 gets $30, RE2 in that condition is worth $20, and Tactics will get you $22. You'll easily double your investment.

Is this worth it for $50? Thanks in advance. I think I will start asking many questios here as I am starting to build a collection of old games and system. Hope you guys dont mind.

Super Nintendo system (SNES) with 2 controllers and power cables plus 10 games:

Street Fighter
Donkey Kong Country
Batman Forever
Killer Instinct
Top Gear
Lord of the Rings Vol 1
Super Play Action Football
Mortal Kombat
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Ken Griffey Jr presents Major League Baseball

Most of us here are glad to answer questions. After all, teaching only makes us more knowledgeable for our own reference.

That SNES bundle is worth $50 but I would try to get his phone number and offer him $30. See if he bites. It can probably be resold for like $60-$100, depending on condition. If it was all boxed, an easy $100. If you actually want an SNES to play, $50 is not a bad price at all. I'd still try to get him down a bit though.

Thanks for the quick reply, none of them have box and I am not sure what the conditions are. I'll try emailing the owner now and ask for price cut. Thanks again.

I asked about N64 games bundle yesterday (previous page) for $30...the seller wants $40 for them now claiming someone has already offered $35 for them. What do you guys think?bite?
Kidding? That's a steal. Right off the bat
Nocturne, Marvel v Capcom 2,Wizardry, Fatal Frame,Ar Tonelico,Tales of the Abyss,Ico, Jurassic Park Genesis
Trust me, my first response when I saw that ad was to get over there as soon as possible.

lol You always have such fantastic craigslist pickups. Mine is filled with overpriced sports games or new (opened but "new")PS2s for $125-$150.

Yeah that listing was INSANELY good. And you knocked off an extra $20 when you got there?

Man nice work. If you don't spot (and jump on) listings like that IMMEDIATELY, they are gone like that.

What do you guys think:

Resident Evil Survivor
Resident Evil Nemesis
Castlevania Chronicles

All are hopefully complete for $30. You think I should try to get it lowered down more??

All I'm gonna say is I am seriously jealous of many of these deals you people find. All that's ever advertised on my local CL are beat up NES systems with common games for $100 or the multiple Wii systems that people are STILL trying to gouge people on, even though Best Buy had STACKS of them the last time I was there.

Where you located? I find the boston area to be a good mix of somewhat technilogically literate peopel (to at least use craigslist) but are stupid enough to sell bundles like this. This is even better than the gamecube/GBA bundles I got a little while back.

I'm in the northeast corner of Pennsylvania, specifically the little city made famous by the NBC show "The Office": Scranton.

Around here, there are people who may have better stuff listed, but you can be sure they'll have it Ebay priced or want close to Ebay price so you couldn't make a dime off of it if you tried to resell it.

Even though that was a big score I'm pissed because I missed a mint two ds lite bundle with 5 or 6 really good games (at least $10+ trade-in credit at Gamestop) for $150. Guy posted it at (9:30 pm and I responded at 9:50) and heard back next morning he was meeting someone else that afternoon, I was pissed.

I also created another account that I use to see if the person is responding in case I haven't heard, tag along high price assholes and submit lowball offers when I am negotating with the other account. normally I don't negotiate over email (unless it's the only reason I'll make the trip) and if I am there I will probably pay what the seller is asking unless something is really fucked up like when I picked up a n64 bundle and the cords connections were completely broke (although with 35 games I would have gladly paid their $50 asking). I always find something wrong to negotiate and if they resist I was going to buy it anyway at that price.

I e-mailed the guy right after he posted it - I happened to be searching craigslist within the 5 min he posted it.

He never wrote back.

Jeebus Christ.

Edit:

I'm just a bit annoyed with craigslist people recently. Showed up at one house - nobody there or answers door. Next person - I'm heading over to there place to get something when I get email (via phone) saying something along the lines of oh sorry, I didn't notice someone e-mailed first so I have to let them have it.

That happens to me all the time re: immediately replying and finding out that it's already sold. I think some people use a top down approach for replying to emails as they respond first to the person who sent the latest message. I wouldn't worry deals seem to be popping up on a fairly regular basis.

that pisses me off to no end. Lots of flakes/sketchy characters around boston!

Infinite Undiscovery is going to be $10 at Best Buy starting Sunday. But you might want to purchase it ahead of time then go in and get the price adjustment.

Yeah I know. I'm still just steaming from the guy who effed with me twice. Showed up to meet and he apologized later on about not being around and wanted to meet again. Second time same thing - just this time no apologies and never heard back again

What were you buying from him so we know to watch out?

I saw a listing for the following at $90:

Resident Evil Zero
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil 4
Silver Gamecube + hookups
Black GC Controller
and a bonus Resident Evil OutBreak 1+2 for PS2

I'm thinking about offering $60 as I don't have $90 to spare atm and most of them have gamestop used stickers. He says they are in "good condition," but his good probably means way less than mine.

What do you guys think I should offer?

For 30 dollars for all thats a steal. Castlevania Chronicles is worth 40 to 50 dollars complete.

Assuming they're cart only, I'd personally offer $60 for the lot since I have all of the games already. If you want them for personal collection, I say offer $100 at most.

The person selling them obviously has some idea/slight clue as to their value (although the "rare" comments are pure bullshit, my Lord "rare" is soooo overused), but doesn't make a similar comment for Super Mario RPG, so this person might not know exactly how much they are worth.

So I'd say start low if you can live without them, or start a bit higher if you really want the bundle. It's an excellent bundle quality wise, every single game is an SNES gem.
