$120 for everything is nice...go for $100 out the door, tell him you only have $100 cash, it's for your poor orphaned younger cousin, whatever. Just make that magic happen!!!

san jose to san leandro. 30 miles each way. $25 will be worth it but i have to pay add'l for gas. Bioshock and Dead Space goes for under $20 each on amazon. I can wait til eca comes back and get both for around $36.
You know, if you really wanted Bioshock and Dead Space that bad, you could've just gone to Sears for Bioshock and Target for Dead Space, since both were on clearance there recently.

However, I would've definitely tried to make another deal either along the way or in the same general area, so that you're expending that gas for a couple of deals.

Speaking of deals, I had someone from CL buy a GH:Aerosmith set with wireless guitar for PS2 off me today for $20(only $2 off my asking price of $22:D). Sickest part is, I paid only $1.97 plus tax for it from Sears.;)

I offered $100 but hadn't received an answer for about an hour and a half (although he had been answering very quickly earlier so I knew something was up), so I went ahead and told him I'd take the $120 offer. Now we are just arranging times to get it. I'll let you guys know how everything goes!!

Haha, you folded

That's an insane price for the DS lite with those Nintendo games. Pokemon, NSMB and Mario Kart stay pretty high. So to be able to grab all those with the FF games and a DSlite? Dang.

This is just great. So he's an hour away and I asked if maybe he would meet in the middle somewhere because I don't think my parents want to drive 2 hours and he got all mad and told me this:

"I actually need it to be picked up.. when I put "pick up and pay in person" in my ad, that usually weeds out the people who live farther away, so I deal with locals mainly."

Just... great...I guess that's it. Hopes dashed. Our car is dying so I don't think we want to be driving it an hour away in case it breaks down or something.

I just offered him $130 to meet somewhere in the middle, and told him the price was sort of negotiable. Let's hope for the best. What would you say the maximum I should give is?

I always try to stick to the more local listings on CL myself, so that I'm not going 90 bajillion miles to meet someone. Of course, some of the people who advertise as being local also have their ads posted on other CL pages in other cities/areas around here.

I guess that's good in that you get a much wider audience to look at the ads, but if someone replies to your ad and you're not from that area but expect them to travel to you, I'd tell them to go fuck themselves and to stop posting on my local CL page if they're NOT local. Then I'd start flagging their ads from then on out.

haha..I'll be mad too if I'm him... I hate it when people asking me to drive or deliver, when I clearly put "Local Pickup Only" on my ad.

Good luck though....if he's desperate, maybe he'll meet you halfway.

It was worth a shot anyway... apparently he cannot meet in the middle because his parents won't let him use the car to go to an unfamiliar area. But I am going to make one hell of a bribe to my parents that they cannot decline. Imma make this bundle happen... !!!

Don't you have any friends that drive?

lol.

Still, at 14, I had a couple friends old enough to drive (though I'm not sure we were close enough to warrant a 2 hour ride).

OK we're picking it up Sunday night!! Lots of work to do before that (because of our bribe) but I think it's worth it. I'M HAPPY X]

Will post pics once I get everything late Sunday night. Probably won't be on here until then.
http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/ele/1425498069.html

I know this is not a good deal or anything but what is up with those 3 Activision games on the bottom row, I had all 3 of them and I know that the cartridges did not look like that.
Import? Bootleg? I'm not even sure if imports were available of games before a certain gen, though they probably were.

Anyway, I had some variant versions of Atari 2600 games back when I had a big collection of them. It could've been a Sears or other re-release.

A close up on the games:

img3179g.jpg

He apparently found some extra games and threw them in for FREE! (all cartridge only)
Mario Party DS
Sims 2: Pets
Sega Superstars Tennis
Brain Age 2

By the way, the cartridges shown at the bottom of the first pic aren't all of the loose ones; I took out the carts of the complete ones too.

Good mood.

I haven't really posted to many of my finds lately since there hasn't been anything super awesome until this last week.

Find 1: $30

Complete boxed 3DO with a bunch of games all complete - about 15 games

Some notable ones were Gex, Dragon's Lair, Street Fighter 2, Out of this World and Lucienne's Quest. Lucienne is the rarest game for the 3DO and I think the only JRPG released in the states. The CD on this one looks about near mint, the instructions have a little bit of wear but the cheap cardboard box has been squished numerous times - but still an awesome find.

Find #2:

Sega Saturn System, Sega Genesis w/ sega CD - included hook ups, RAM carts, etc.

About 30 games - a ton of AAA titles.

Lunar 1, Lunar 2, SNATCHER, Shining Force CD, Shing into the Darkness, Monkey Island (SEALED), Popful Mail, Vay, Dungeun Master 2, Third World War, etc.

Shining Holy Ark, Shining Wisdom, Hylide, etc.

All the games are complete and all of them are mint or near mint condition.

I paid the asking price for this lot - $10

Another interesting thing is this is the 2nd Snatcher I've picked up this last year from craigslist - both of them costing me less than a dollar when divided out among the games.
That copy of Echoes of Time looks peculiar. My copy was bought from Target and the cover is all white with just the logo for the game (http://jadestear.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/final-fantasy-crystal-chronicles-echoes-of-time.jpg)

Is that an import?
I don't know but the first thing I noticed about this game was that the case was the flimsiest, and it wasn't like it seemed old. It seemed like it wasn't built well. The cartridge says Nintendo on the back though, if that means anything..

Oh, sorry went right past that post. So how can you tell it is a bootleg - just the cover art?

EDIT: Ok I looked up how to tell bootlegs from real copies and one person said it always says Nintendo above the gold things if its a legit copy (this was an article specifically about GBA cartridges). But I looked at the DS games I had bought at a yard sale and they did say Nintendo on the bottom, and all the other games I had just bought did not. I guess they're all bootlegs. This sucks ass.

So all those games are bootlegs? That sucks hard; you should learn how to spot those. I know there was a way to look inside GBA carts from the bottom and you could tell, but I never really bought used handheld stuff, so I wouldn't know.

Looking at the picture you posted though, some of the carts' black plastic does look a little off.

Yeah. Lesson learned. I really bought this bundle to play, not sell, so it's ok because these all seem to play fine (and save fine). The Pokemon Leaf Green cart has Nintendo on the inside so that one's real apparently. But none of the others. Who knows, maybe he didn't know they were bootlegs (bought them used or something?)

EDIT: Ok he told me he bought the 2 FF games on ebay and all the others at Gamestop. He said he'll take back any ones that have problems and will return the money, but otherwise that none of them except maybe the FF are bootlegs because they were all purchased new at Gamestop (although, where are their price stickers that gamestop usually makes an effort to be hard to get off??). I'm going to leave it at that. G'night.

The rest of them look real, unless you were really looking forward to playing those two games you shouldn't be too broken up about it.

I just picked up some PS1 games yesterday afternoon. These are all black label and complete.

Chrono Cross
Legend of Dragoon
Alundra
Parasite Eve
Wild Arms

The awesome Craigslister threw in the following for free:

PS1 Tomb Raider The Last Revelation
PS1 Tomb Raier Chronicles
PS1 Crash Bandicoot
PS1 Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
a black PSP case

total $40

I wish I didn't take a nap Saturday afternoon because this same guy was selling some PS1 FF games and a bunch of SNES RPGs for great prices. Someone else bought this before I e-mailed him. Oh well, I'm still happy with this lot.

I got those FF and SNES games. I emailed about Parasite Eve first but he forgot about it and sold them to you. I got the FF games and the SNES stuff for $125

It is pretty cool that another CAG got that awesome PS1 FF and SNES lot. I hope you are planning on playing them and not just ebaying them immediately. If I had bought them, I'd be holding onto them for sure.

Now, I'm paranoid about missing future Craigslist finds so I shall stop taking weekend naps.

Have any of you had much success by posting wanted ads?
I'm not talking about general "Buying NES, SNES, PS1 games" ads, like something more specific.

I've been looking into getting a japanese candy cabinet.
I.e. one of these: http://hard--candy.com/index.asp?page=New+Astro+City

Cheapest I could find one shipped is $850, but that's too much for me spend on just the cabinet.

I was thinking about posting an ad, but I wanted to hear how some of you've done with getting hard to find items.

Sort of related story; I was actually gonna buy one off craiglist for $250.
I saw the ad 30 minutes after it was posted and set up to pick up the next day early in the morning. I get a text at 3am saying it's been sold. #-o
Lesson learned: If you see something you want, GET IT FAST!

Not particularly. It's certainly not the worst bundle ever, but there is a lot of filler there. If the system is in solid condition it's definitely worth it, though.
yea, didnt realized until I got home
Always inspect the condition of the games, man! This isn't meant as an insult, I'm just trying to warn a dude!

Not a whole lot. I made a pretty thorough post, detailing what I have, what I'm looking for, and what I'm willing to give up for the items I'm looking for. I received a ton of texts and calls, almost all of them saying "how much for (item I placed in my "looking for" section)..."? Kind of disappointing, but I wasn't expecting much.

Is the PS2 a slim or fat? Are the games complete with cover art, manual and case?
I don't think the games are worth that much. The only one that seem to be worth something is the rock band track pack vol.2. Well, if these 22 games are complete, you may be able to sell for some good cash and cut down the cost of this PS2 purchase.

sometimes when you put something in the wanted section a person will think your actually selling the item instead of looking to buy, haha
