Actually I do get banned for things like that. Some 14 year old administrator on another site was being an asshole to me for no reason, as Jimmie was, and yeah. I was banned. No big deal. It's a cyber reputation, I don't expect people in the grocery store to egg me and say "I hated your post in andy41292's 'The Lodge' thread."

Apossum, there's no window of opportunity. I could easily open another account and post things like that. It would still be me, just with another name. Why hold anything against me if you'd like what I post under another name?

So ~3 people mention Lina every once in awhile. Who cares? Do you know how many times I've seen people say the exact same thing over and over? Do we need an official thread for William Macy to pretend that he's William Macy (it'd be way more entertaining than this thread)? Do we need a JSweeney thread where he just quotes everybody and misinterprets their posts? Or how about a FriskyTanuki thread, where he talks about everybody he ignores.

All of these topics/posts come up once every two weeks or so, and they're going to keep happening. It's not enough to throw the balance of the board out of whack, so let them post whatever they want.

Threads like this however, are just stoking the flames. To put it simply: No good will come of this. At all. Ever. Bad move.

Yeah, that really worked for the OTT right? They keep posting, we keep laughing and rolling our eyes, but they keep on going. Lina's right, they're just going to keep talking about it, and once again I ask you who cares if they mention it here or there? No, this shit didn't need to get out in the open, again. It's been out in the open, more times than I could count, in multiple threads specifically dedicated for this very purpose. At the end of the day, it might be pertenant to examine the positives that have come out of this thread.

The negatives? Over 200 posts in one night, mostly consisting of petty bitching and ban-threats. And you know what? That wouldn't have happened if you hadn't made this lame ass thread (you really could've just called it "The Official incite an unneccesary flame war thread", and it would've been just as accurate).

So nice job, you really accomplished a lot with this one. And it's sticky to boot! Now everybody can join in, and we can bring CAG down to where everybody seemingly wants it to go (I wonder if we'll start hosting FAQs too?). And you wanted the mods to keep this one open?

Once again, the attitude and nobility of some mods truely amazes me.

This thread should've never been started, but it was. It should've been locked after a few pages, but it wasn't. Sure as hell it shoudln't have been stickied, but it was. It should be locked now, and lord knows I would if I could.

1) This thread sure took the heat of the "what'chu look like? part deux!" thread.

2) Although I'm not a clinical psychologist (and there's no market for clinical sociolgists), I'd like to pose a hypothesis here. Between the poor attempts at dominance over the like of JimmieMac (King of the CAG Jungle) and half nekkid posts and/or totally posed handsome-lad shots in the thread referenced in remark #1, it seems to me that Blade is (1) exceptionally narcissistic about his skinny cracker self, and (2) perpetuating a bizarre love triangle (cue New Order) the likes of which haven't been seen since "Some Kind of Wonderful." Get this:

JimmieMac wants to (as he affectionately puts it) "bang the shit out of Kittie."

Kittie could give a fuck (or, in John Hughes movie parlance, perhaps playing hard to get).

Blade spends the majority of this thread trying to direct the attention back onto himself. Meanwhile, JimmieMac doesn't even know he's alive.

So, the score is:

JimmieMac = Eric Stolz as Keith
Kitte = Lea Thompson as Amanda
Blade = Mary Stuary Masterson as Watts

Get it? Got it? Good.
