There ya go
:applause:

The Moz is in your PS3, shakin' his azz.
That's very true though. If only PS3 would have been designed from the beginning with 1GB of main memory (the RSX can still have 256MB dedicated to it or more). PS3 would clearly be the most powerful and would have many firmware features (kind of like how last gen the EE and GS had some amazing qualities, but PS2 was limited by 4MB of VRAM).
Fixed .

I wish the 360 did too .

Apparently Epic had to pull teeth to get 512MB for the 360 , that's Unreal engine 3 games probably always run better on it , and come out first .

Sony needs to get with Critereon Games and make a majority of their 1st party stuff with their tech .

Anyone else notice that when downloading things like videos, while having a secondary storage device attached (like memory stick/CF/SD and I suspect external hard drive), it no longer requires you to press "Start" while selecting where to download. Now it allows you to press "X" instead. That was a minor annoyance of mine. I'm happy to see it changed.

You're right. I thought something was more streamlined when downloading videos this weekend, just couldn't put my finger on it.
Could they just focus on cross game invites first?
with cross game invites u still have to games right. how exactly do cross game invites work if ur already playing a game

RUMOR, floating around. No course, but just a forum post that Firmware 2.5 comes next week. Not much, but what the OP said was:
To be released July 31, 2008 and will include the following changes:

[PLAYSTATION Lifestyle] has been added as a feature and will include [News] and [Weather] topics to be updated daily.
The way the visual player is used has been changed.
Issues occuring with the Bluetooth headset have been addresed.
You can now adjust the placement of the Date & Time on the XMB.

What do you think...

There are bluetooth issues right now, so I'd like that to be fixed. But this is a GIANT grain of salt.

The youtube record feature is on the system alright right? Just none of the games in the US are using it yet I think. Anyone know if any of the games set to be released here are going to use it (if it is even in the a firmware).

Also 2.2 had some PS2 BC updates which I didn't know about, so there might have been some in the later updates too. I had thought they had stopped slipping them in which is cool.

Description: The following conditions have been confirmed on PS3 System Software Version 2.10: At a specific point during gameplay, the title hangs on a black screen. All conditions have been resolved on PS3 System Software Version 2.20.

That is for Indigo Prophecy.

Singstar features YouTube support, doesn't it?

Yeah the YouTube stuff is a bit different. It actually records your gameplay from games that support the feature, then you can upload it to Youtube.

Then how are cats like TMK uploading YouTube videos of themselves rockin' out to Wilson Philips using the PSEye?

EDIT: Oh, I see. Thanks for the clarification, CheapMan.

Were you always able to copy PS3 game saves over to other users on the same PS3? I haven't used that much, but I noticed that while just messing around in the PS3's menus.

Yes, except for protected ones like Rock Band. Which absolutely sucks if you have to make another account for some reason and have a bunch of DLC. A friend found that out.
If the DLC is installed on the system, it doesn't matter what user account is playing, it will be there.
I stand corrected. Maybe he just didn't want to unlock all the rest of the songs again.
I expect PS3 FW update tomorrow night.
I can predict the future.
Any idea on what it will be?

If it's just the weather thing who cares, much easier for me to search on my computer than turn on the ps3.

I expect that they'll release like fuckin' 3 DOZEN PSX games this Thursday.

Since I'll be out of town for a week, and moving as soon as I return, so I'll be offline for roughly 2 weeks.

I bet it's good stuff, too, like some of the Square Enix titles.
What's Life With Playstation?
Sony will be launching a new program called "Life with Playstation" that will give users real time news and weather, using a globe metaphor reminiscent of the Wii's News Channel. Of course, since the PS3 has considerably more horsepower under the hood, the globe is a rendered weather satellite image showing cloud patterns, and it also supports geo-tagged photos and other content

Source: Engadget

I could of sworn Sony mocked Nintendo for the Weather and News channels?

Dallow, what issue with the battery icon? Where it gets covered by the date/time? I noticed that the other night, and it was annoying.
Dallow, what issue with the battery icon? Where it gets covered by the date/time? I noticed that the other night, and it was annoying.
Yup. But I think you mean "where it covers the date/time"

I was playing a game and a few times wanted to check the time quickly so I hit the PS Button, and I have to wait 2-3 seconds for the battery icon to disappear. :(

Maybe I did get those backwards. Whatever the case, it was a problem for me too. I'm all for them fixing that issue too.
What setup?
Exactly what you're complaining about with the battery icon covering the clock. Mind you, I usually wait the couple of seconds, but also the big ugly looking 'quit game' icon that shows up now when you press the PS button. It looks out of place with the rest of it.
 Seriously? Complaining about two or three seconds??
Uh yeah.
All they have to do is move the date/time up 10 pixels.

I was playing online so I can't stand still for too long, a quick double tap of the PS Button is all I should have to do to check the time.

It's not a big complaint, it's just a minor annoyance that can be fixed so easily.
You're saying you don't like in-game XMB?
Just hold the PS Button for a few seconds like we always used to get the old menu.
But, to me, it adds nothing. I mean, I originally wasn't even going to be playing online with the PS3, but now that I've had a taste I've found that I like going on with it. It IS helpful to be able to check PSN messages and stuff while in a game, but in a game like GTA IV where people view free mode as deathmatch it gets quite annoying to hear the telltale crunch of your in game character while you're checking out stuff in the XMB.

One feature(which I know Sony will never add because I think MS owns a patent on it)I'd love to see added to the PS3 is IN GAME CUSTOM SOUNDTRACKS. But MS has a patent on that, I believe, and Sony would rather add the junk(Trophies? Cmon, seriously? Give us something USEFUL)they have instead of paying a rival to use their patent to improve a game.

That's why I liked playing Vice City on the Xbox, since I could put my music on the HDD and then cruise along to my tunes if I wanted to. We definitely should have custom soundtracks in game, but like I said Sony won't fork over $$$ to MS to use their patent so it's a moot point.

Sony does have in-game XMB-supported custom soundtracks that was added with the 2.40 update, but because of that patent, it can't be done over all games like the 360 does, but has to be supported with a new patch for a game to support that. There are a few games that have their own in-game custom soundtracks feature (Burnout Paradise, SSHD, HVB, MLB 08) that are done from within the game.

That's better than nothing.
I can send and receive friend requests, check a message without quitting a game, etc etc etc.

Even a limited "setup" is WAY better than what we had before, which was nothing at all.

Well, I certainly hope that Rockstar comes out with something soon, since aside from "One Vision" by Queen and a few of the other rock songs on the GTA IV soundtrack, I think the bulk of it is garbage this time around.

2.42 is up, it seems.

EDIT: And it didn't seem to do anything, or give me a changelog. Maybe it turned my PS3 into a remote-controlled explosive.

Bah, I wanted to play online tonight. Don't like network updating and they take forever to post it on the site... I'll decide soon I guess.
