I got 2 of the two premium themes, techno and the summer babes one. They weren't worth it one bit.
Congratulations, you got suckered into paying $1 for pictures you could have easily downloaded off the internet, how bad do you feel?! But, more importantly, what are you going to do know!?!
It's useful for downloading videos, podcasts, and stuff like that. I can't see anyone really using it like they would on a PC or laptop.
I did for a while and it sucked. However it was doable/passable.

Actually, they were 1.99 each

I have my one keyboard from my old PC hooked up to the PS3 now and I use the DS 3 like a mouse. It's actually a tolerable combo at times, although the browser suffers from the occasional lockups like the system/games sometimes do.

Otherwise, it's pretty nice to not have to go downstairs to get on the pc to check something. I've actually surfed over to CAG via the PS3 before and the page layout looks very similar to how it displays on my PC.

Oh and smiggity, is that photo under your custom sig Sackboy pissing on the 360? Or am I seeing things? LOL

The Controllers DO shut down when you shut off the PS3 from the XMB. IAmTheCheapestGamer is also the dumbest gamer, since he shuts down the controller and THEN gets up and shuts down the PS3 by hand. At the very minimum, he is the least efficient gamer.

This kind of stuff is good for when you start up a movie or something, and forget to shut down the controllers. Their energy is not getting sucked away while the Blu-Ray plays anymore; I find that monumentally useful, as this happens a lot.

Awesome update.. a handful of little things solved. Hopefully the headset problem is solved altogether. I've been wishing for auto-shut off for both controllers and after downloads for a while (sorry Folding@home). The screen shots I'm not too concerned about since most of the cool stuff probably happens too fast to capture. And the scene search is a must for me as I just discovered media sharing and gained access to over 200 of my movies and over 100 episodes of Naruto I've 'obtained' in the past.

My next wishlist item for the PS3 OS is better file management especially when it come to backing up my game saves. Between the PS3 files and my PS and PS2 virtual cards I have a ton of game saves and it takes forever to copy them to a usb one by one.

Apologies if this has already been covered, but has the "auto off" function for Folding@Home been removed?

There used to be a setting to automatically turn the PS3 off after the current work unit was completed but I can't seem to locate it anymore.

While in Folding@Home, press triangle, then Current Channel, then Settings, and then Automatic Shutdown.

Duh. There it is. ;)

Thanks for the assist...I was looking under "options" instead of "settings".

Actually, since my room is so small, the table my PS3 is on is right next to my bed with maybe a 4-5 inch gap.

So, I don't even have to get up and be less efficient to shut off the system. All I have to do is lean over and voila, I can easily shut the system down.

I still don't have to worry about the controllers not shutting down when I watch a movie on my PS3, since I never will.

I'm still surprised I have actually been using it to websurf.
Finally, porn on the PS3! (Yeah, I said it... :whistle2:o:nottalking:)
sweet.... porn on 55" TV instead of monitor... I will now be more "comfortable"

I hope they move the battery status of the remote down a bit when you access in-game XMB. It's a small nuisance but sometimes I want to see the time and the battery status bar shows up right over the clock and I have to wait for it to disappear. It's a minor complaint but kinda bugs me when I want to take a quick look since I don't have a clock in my room :/

I have also been bothered by this. I would be happy to see it moved.

From GAF:

On top of that, an added on-screen indicator shows battery status, volume level and use of HQ mode.

I hope there will will be some new "Gamerpics" with this update .

They need a way to cycle the display , like the way we used to on a VCR .

I'm glad there's a button on my tv's remote that shows what channel I'm on plus the time, though the battery status thing obscuring the time only stays up for 2 seconds or so, so it's not that bothersome to me.

It's only annoying when playing an online game and you need to check the time really quickly and get back to the action.

My TV does the same thing, but much easier just pushing the button on something I'm already holding. ;)

Other than that though, not huge.

I'm sure they'll move the displays around. Better do it in this update.

One thing I'd really like is custom avatars, since I'd probably switch from the disembodied Kratos head to a cropped picture of Robin Meade as my avatar for PSN.

The avatars that're currently available are kinda meh.

I can't get it for a while unfortunately (COD beta downloading on my 360). After that, it's off to PS3 land for 2.50. Then back to 360 town for beta action.

Wow! I am surprised at how much 2.50 helps the UI of the PS3. It makes setting up an account, changing your avatar, changing wallet settings, ect. a whole lot easier.

A few stealth updates:
-When looking at recent players, ALL their avatars display instead of smiley faces.
-Account management has a automatic billing system like XBL for subscription based services. It's set on "yes", so if you don't want to get billed out of no where, change it to no.

woo hoo I'm watching pron now!!!.....umm I meant to say; I think you need to be logged on for a certain amount of time because one of my friends I saw logged on earlier today hasn't logged on for 60 days.

The automatic funding option? Mine was set to Off.
