I found out that feeding commercial grade ammo into a 60-year-old gun is a bad idea. It seemed fine when I shot it yesterday, but I'd rather not risk it.
 
Well I've know guys with the .308 models that do it often.
I know first hand M1 carbine does it fine, both are different calibers than the 'aught six though (the latter very different).

Is there any pitting or hairlines on the receiver or bolt carrier?

Edit: Yea after reading up on it, it's a bad idea- good thing you stopped.

The rifle is pretty mint considering it's age, but with something like this, I just can't risk it. It's the most accurate and historically important rifle I own and I really want to take good care of it.

Anyway, if anyone wants it or knows somebody that wants it, I'll sell it for much less than retail. It's all less than two weeks old.

I have to find one of my t-shirts that I packed away from ...from..I forget the website. caoine.org? something like that. "I play violent video games and could snap at any moment." The one time I wore that in public was to a mall and every little boy thought I was the coolest girl ever. :lol:

Okay, I saw you had two as your max. I have no limits, but I'm a mod... I don't think I have limits because of that. I need someone else with tagging abilities just to try for three to five tags.

Yes yes, i haven't forgotten.

I was in DE. Alcohol is so cheap down there. I got 2 30 packs, 2 handles and a fifth for under 100.00.
 
Morning, OTT.

So, I'm not sure I mentioned this but Number84 broke his wrist on Day 3 of training camp. He was doing back pedaling drills and tripped over his own feet, fell backwards and tried to brace himself but landed awkwardly. He was cast on Friday and now has to wear it for 3 weeks.

I give him credit though, he still wants to suit up and start hitting tonight...Of, course I would never allow this to happen, but it's a :proud: moment because I didn't even have to ask if he wanted too. Coach does want me to bring him to practice because he can do walkthroughs of the plays. Thier first game is in 5 weeks, so this is the time to get injured, I guess.
