The - PERSONA 3 / PERSONA 3 FES - Thread! (FES OUT NOW! $30!)

I have a question about the Justice S-link (the one with Chihiro, the treasurer). I accidentally answered one of the questions to get her S-link started wrong. So does this mean that I can't start the Justice S-link anymore? If so, then I may want to restart before I get too far into the game...

I don't think that's possible, just normally takes longer to move up another level when you answer wrong (but that shouldn't matter at this point). If I remember correctly you need to talk to her a few times before it actually starts anyway.

if not, what happens is every time you answer a question, you get points and you need a certain amount of points to move onto the next level.

If you do not have enough points to get to the next level, then when you talk to that person again you'll jus get a small cutscene that says "you guys spent time together, you are growing closer to each other" and that event nets you 10 points (or 15 if you meet with matching arcana in your stock)
kinda NSFW!!

Stupari lol
Where do you get these?

EDIT: And by "these" I mean all of your P3 picture posts, not the NSFW pictures. ;)

In my case, I didn't even start the S-link yet. I was suppose to answer several questions correctly for her to open up. For the last couple times I talked to her, I only have the option of saying "Hello" and "Good luck." I'll advance a couple more days to see if anything else is different.

To activate her Slink you have to answers a series of questions correctly. But you can replay once each day you talk to her. So it will take multiple visits to activate her slink. She share the same days as Mitsuru-Tuesaday/Thursday/Saturday.

Your responses(i think text is little bit different in fes)
I want to talk>I'm male>Hello>Let's Walk Home togethor

What an epic game. I've put about 14 hours into it in the past few days and I am hooked. Best $33.88 I've spent on a game in a long time. P3F is really my first jRPG besides the FF series. I will definitely be playing more of them. One question maybe you guys can answer. Is Jack Frost originally from Persona or Atlus?

Jack Frost is an SMT character, so I guess if the choice is either Persona or Atlus, it would have to be Atlus. You'll also fine him in Nocturne, Devil Summoner, DDS 1 & 2, and all of the other SMT-universe games (with the possible exception of Maken X).

man phuck this final boss!!!

I died 4 times on him this afternoon/evening!!

ate dinner, took a shower,

played him again, died in an hour...

played him again, 2 hours later he takes a cheap shot at me and all is over!!

(2nd cheap shot actually... my revival accessory saved me the 1st time)

and I was getting so close too!!!

:bomb:

I had shyt to do tomorrow too... now I'm forced to procrastinate coz I couldnt get this game beaten today

:wall: sleep time...
So is this game a hardcore RPG game or what? I like RPGs and havent had one since FFXII. Is this worth getting?
The game isn't neccasarly harder, just a different kind of RPG. A lot of people like to think it is, but the difficulty isn't anything compared to other SMT games. I'm not gonna tell you not to get it. You do like RPGs and that shoud be enough to at least give it a shot. Just do some homework, check out some videos. For $30 it's not a huge investment, and if anything the game will only grow in value.

Easier way to win:
Helel + Satan = 9,999 damage. Cheap, but effective.
the problem is I'm not at a sufficient level to get one of those Personas.

I have the necessary S.Link but dont wanna grind 15 levels...

I dont have access to the Monad block either...

If you could get to Monad it'll take you probably less than an hour to get to a high enough level. It's very quick to level grind there. But the enimies are pretty tough at first. I remember going back to save after every other fight.

What do you have to do to reach Monad, I forgot? Did you just have to get to the top of Tartarus?

You guys have crazy free time to be at the end already. I've been playing the original release a little bit at a time since October and I still have 3 in-game months to go.

whoo!! I'm the champion!!

I'm the best....

AROUND!!

da da da da da da JEKKI down!!

coz I'm the best...

AROUND!!

da da da da da da JEKKI down!!

all my doods were dead on the final boss, and I couldnt do anything!!

I was sitting there, using a Bead every round to replenish my HP...

get hit, use bead, get hit, use bead, etc etc...

I was hoping he would hit me with bufu, coz my Persona repels it...

I had enough beads to justify this wait... and yah that's how I beat him lol
What do you have to do to reach Monad, I forgot? Did you just have to get to the top of Tartarus?
in regular P3 u get it once u reach the top (b4 the real top), but in FES u gotta kill death.

How can you put it down once you start. It took me 4 or 5 months to play through FFXII (and I didn't do much extra stuff), but I've probably played P3 for 40 hours or more in the past week (luckily I waited till after all of my work for the semester was done).

I'm tempted to make this the first game since FFT that I finish and then start over immediately to do more stuff, but I have so many other PS2 games to get to before I buy a PS3 next month I can't decide (including SMT Nocturne)

Damn. I don't remember if I ever beat him in P3, even more reason for me to just youtube the endings when I get to the end.

I got a 4pm-12:30am job back in December and a girlfriend at home in a 1-bedroom apartment that makes me unable to play video games when I get home from work like most normal people; I can't do anything that makes noise. I don't think I've even touched a console since I got that job, mostly I sit in bed and play the DS till 4am.

These little things sneak up on you when you get older.

Makes sense. Monad is the best area to Lvl grind. I guess it's a compromise for the easy S-Links. Makes the Armageddon spell harder to obtain.

Time for Who's Who. This one was on the TV on 11/16:
- blue hair, strange makeup, a guitar case and an odd way of walking
- he's both a sushi chef and a band leader - Today's his birthday!

I transfer some of my old Persona 3 data and I got a head start for Academics, Charm and Courage attributes. I'm up floor # 14 since the barricade is still there. I got to find a sword for Junpei (in one of those rare chests) to fulfill one of Elizabeth's request. That date with Elizabeth was pretty whacked. I think I should have chose the Arcade choice.

I just got around to opening this up and I'm playing through the answer as I already beat the journey last year. In the answer, is there a compendium? I've only traveled down two floors and went back to register my persona but Elizabeth isn't giving me the option. Does this come later?

There should be a compendium, there was one in the original PS3. I believe that it shows up after the 2nd Full Moon. Edit: Oh yeah, I'm in the journey.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh. that's gonna be a huge pain in the ass.

Who's who for 11/30: "lady in her 30s with a beauty spot under her eye, she can dance the flamenco, so I wonder what she'd look like with a rose in her mouth." Since she's in her 30's, she was an adult during the last games?

I really hate the battle system in this game.

*ENEMY ADVANTAGE*
*BUFULA*
*CRITICAL*
*GAME OVER*

I'm only in the middle of June but what's a good way to get the items to trade for cards in the antique store? I got my Lilim from 3 strength to 22 strength but now I think I wanna grind the items out...

When you go into battle don't take a persona with a weakness if you can avoid it. I also wouldnt bother trying to level up the stats of any one persona, just try to keep one around for each element.

Sometimes it catches you off guard (happened to me quite a bit) but that's what scanning is for. I think it's impossible to play through without dying at all. But the random deaths make the game very challenging and in the end gratifying.

fucking Mudo spell set me back 1 hour once. I felt like ripping my hair out I was so angry. But you better believe I was prepared for those a-holes again.

I don't think there is a good way, but it's a total waste to up your stats. You're much better off fusing higher level persona as soon as you can.

I was actually wondering about how exactly to deal with the higher levels of tartarus, because all my party was Lvl 20 and most of my personas were no higher than lvl 10, only jack frost was lvl 17.

So i dedicated my time to fuse personas after compendiuming them so i dont loose track of the ones i had.

I have better personas and enemies are less trouble now.

So of course I can't read a single youtube comment without being spoiled on something. So for anyone who has beat the Answer:
the main character is a wall? Is this a spoiler or "early on" stuff?
The battles are a blast, even if sometimes they are a bit cruel.
wow, you guys are being super generous. they're random BS. i hate getting hit with a stray mudo or hama and dying. i hate getting critical'ed twice for an instant death. it's not like these can really be planned out or that i feel any smarter for winning. it just feels gimmicky.

it's a shame because i like the persona system, but the way the battles unfold just really aggravate me when there's a lot of dumb random luck, or that you HAVE to die to strategize for the battle later. like i just fought a boss and he mind boost - Magarula me for a 1-shot. the next time, he mind boosted into a fire wave or whatever for a 1-shot. how am i supposed to know he has those skills and that i need a str / null against those elements to survive? it's just stupid.

You're a noob to these SMT games aren't you?

P3 is the most "generous" SMT game of them all.

I think I played the first one on SFC but I never beat it.

Still, if this is the easiest one, that doesn't necessarily make it good. -_-;

I had the first one for SFC (picked it up for $1 in Japan) but never even tried it out. Did you play a Japanese version? In the Nocturne guide it talks about super rare enemies that are like 1 in 1000 to randomly fight. Still I'd love to play a translated version.

DDS wasn't really all that difficult of a game either though. P3 I found very easy - always get strike first, analyze, use weakness, all-out attack. I think I died twice in the course of my first play through.

I'm looking forward to playing Nocturne to see how difficult it is. My guess is that the difficulty was so talked up that I'll find it easier than I expected (similar to God Hand and Ninja Gaiden Sigma).

look up "AGTP" on google, they have SMT 1 and 2 patches

Should've said, "I'd love to play a translated version on my TV." I can't stand to play games on my computer. I'd settle for a portable version also.

Playing P3 is a good start for Nocturne. They share many basic elements. But if you plan to do everything in Nocturne (get Dante, beat all the fiends & the real final boss) it truly is a greater challenge than Persona 3.
