I just got back from the Dragon Gate USA show. It was amazing. They said the show is going to be their 2nd PPV, but didn't say when it was going to air. Every match on the card was great. The crowd was hot. Lots of near falls, cool moves, crazy stuff. American Dragon had an awesome match and got a big ovation. He thanked the crowd for supporting him. He also said to continue to support indy wrestling and that he believed that Davey Richards is going to be the next "Best in the World". Danielson said he probably won't be able to use that nickname anymore. They played Final Countdown after his match and he said on the mic "I wanna hear it one more time!" and the whole crowd sang the song. It was great.
Kendrick wrestled and had a good match. He got a big pop. Everyone was chanting Spanky.
As my friends and I were waiting in line to get into the building, JR and the King pulled up in a Cadillac and walked right past us to the door. It was cool seeing them. They were signing autographs but you had to pay 25 bucks so I passed. After Danielson's match they went to intermission and he was signing autographs for 10 bucks. He was really friendly. Gabe was walking around all over the place too.
I definitely recommend buying the PPV that's currently airing and check out this show when they finally release it on PPV. It was such a good show. Best match of the night hands down was Davey Richards vs. Shingo. That match alone is worth the PPV cost. Everyone should see that match. The main event was the Young Bucks vs. 2 Japanese guys. The Young Bucks were over but as characters they were balls boring, but they did a lot of cool stuff in the ring. I never heard of them though. I also never heard of a lot of the Japanese guys but man did they put on some badass matches.

TNA should be bending over backwards to get Angelina Love back working in the US and working with TNA. Otherwise she'll be in WWE before you can say "vintage."

She was there once already and they let her go before she made it to WWE TV so they might show interest in her again.

WWE let her go, and she did a stint in Mexico before joining TNA. I saw her in a mixed match once on AAA and she was Rob Terry bad. She's really fit and attractive so I could understand both what WWE Saw in her and also why they let her go.
Now she's not only far better wrestler, she's a semi-established star in the US wrestling scene. A far hotter commodity. WWE *will* take her, given the opportunity.
I am thoroughly entertained. Barker is already lightyears better from what I expected him to be. The opening segment cracked me up. Santino was priceless.. he never fails to make me laugh.
I hope the rest of the night is this entertaining.

You may have just coined a phrase. Don't be surprised to see me using it at some point.
I can't beleive there's actually good wrestling on RAW for a change.
This. MVP vs Jericho was pretty good. It was nice to see Chavo face someone else. I'm hoping Cena and Rhodes will be decent, but I doubt it. Orton vs. Masters, though? Ugh.
Has Cody Rhodes always had a lisp? I guess I've never really noticed it before, but it's pretty terrible. That's probably why they keep him off the mic.
EDIT: I really enjoyed how Cena immediately came back from being in a righteous arm bar for about 90-120 seconds by using a sequence of shoulder blocks and clotheslines using the very same arm that was in the arm bar. And, to top it off, ending the sequence with the teeniest little wince of pain and gesture towards his left arm (as if to suggest he's genuinely and appropriately "selling" his physical pain).
Still a fun match to watch, but things like that and the absolute lack of building a match (replaced by cluster back-and-forth moves) turned me off.

the ironing is delicious!
but seriously, it's just you, demo. You know I like to bust your balls. I don't know why. I don't mean it as an asshole thing, just poking fun.
What was the point of the backstage segment? That seemed like a giant waste of time. I was really hoping that when Cody grabbed the chair, it wouldn't be DX that opened the door, it would've been Randy, thus setting up Cody as more of a heel. I really want to see Legacy dissolve.
And yeah, the backstage segment coupled with DX's entrance and mic time pushed Raw way past its usual runtime of 5 minutes past the hour.
I'd rather see Bob Barker than see D-X going through the motions of saying all of their catchphrases and making gay jokes.
I agree. D-X as a whole is beyond old at this point. Same catch phrases, same jokes, etc. Honestly I think starting next week I'm done with RAW for a long time. Especially now that the NFL season is starting. At this point watching an game with the Detroit Lions sounds more appealing to me than watching a show centered around D-X and John Cena.
This is coming mind you from an Randy Orton mark.
but seriously, it's just you, demo. You know I like to bust your balls. I don't know why. I don't mean it as an asshole thing, just poking fun.
Just like how I like to occasuinionally misspell words just to see how quickly you try to "correct" me.
Awesome show. It was easily the best go-home show that they've had since the guest host concept started, as I was left wanting to see Orton-Cena after the show-closing beating, and definitely want to see Legacy vs. DX, which was built up really well even after Cena beat Cody earlier in the night.
The Price is Right stuff was about what I expected, and didn't take up a ton of time compared to other guest host antics. Bob seemed to be having fun, which helped as he wasn't just acting like a robot repeating lines. Some of the stuff was pretty ham-fisted (like the bit with Kelly asking what the foundation's name was, and the whole interview deal with Bob with 1,000 copies of his book in the background), but it was all enjoyable because Bob is just awesome and impossible to not like on-air. And to top it all off, he karate chopped Chavo. That ruled.
They did a great job building up the tag title match by having MVP beat Jericho in a great, long match that felt like the one they should have had last week. It was definitely the best match on the show, and I hope to see these guys in a solo feud down the line with higher stakes because they've got some chemistry together. Show and Henry, however, don't, and their body slam challenge deal went on for-freaking-ever at times with what seemed like a thousand slam attempt>BACK CLUB spots. Thank God the match-ending slam looked great - otherwise, this would have felt like a total waste of time.
Cody vs. Cena was Cody's best one-on-one match yet, and probably Cena's best TV match all year. Cody trying a variety of submissions was a nice way to try and get SOMETHING over for the submission match, of course, that mission failed since he didn't actually get a submission. Probably should have had him beat some goober on Superstars with a move to at least have footage of him having a move that could make someone tap - that would have been a perfect use for the show, but oh well. This match was still good and I liked the finish with Cody going for a figure 4, only to have it countered into the STF. I'm also glad that they brought up what Orton did to Cody - I was afraid they'd just drop it, but they didn't. Good stuff.
DX vs. Masters/Orton was good, even if it was pretty obvious who was dropping the fall. DX beginning by calling Ted and Cody gay was the height of comedy - especially since they followed up with the whole LET'S GET READY TO SUCK IT bit. They at least tried to make Masters seem in the same world as the other guys in the match by having him on offense a lot, and HBK played the Ricky Morton role perfectly. DX winning with a dual submission, with the HBK leglock getting the win over Masters while Orton was trapped in a sharpshooter put over the submission match...and then the post-match beating began and the real build towards Breaking Point intensified.
They went 15 minutes past the hour with this stuff, and it all ruled. DX and Legacy brawled all over the place, and I was a bit frightened by that since HBK was taking bumps on concrete and diving onto things, which with his bad back and knees is a bit terrifying. I liked that they had Legacy get one up on then by getting away, leading to Orton calling out Cena and getting the better of him by RKOing him on a chair (while a fan held up a giant KENNEDY! sign in the background). It was a nice change of pace to see the heels triumphant for once, and I was left with more of a desire to see Breaking Point after the show than I was before it. Very effective stuff.

That may not agree with what Randy did to my dad, but what’s eluding all of you is very clear to me - is that Dusty Rhodes didn’t make me a main eventer. Randy Orton did. And I could lie and tell you that Dusty missed birthdays, that he was a neglectful and poor father, but he was, and is, an excellent father. But it wasn’t his choice - family or career?
