The match Ion had with Sorenson was a #1 contender match so there was really no good way to remove him from a spot he won on a televised match. Considering the hot streak that Aries is on right now there is virtually no chance he'll drop the belt to Ion anyway so it's a moot point. Besides, the move wasn't particularly sloppy and the accident wasn't even totally Ion's fault. More than anything, it was an unfortunate accident.
As far as Dixie's tweet (I'm a grown man, why am I typing the word "tweet"? Wait, I watch pro wrestling.)...what was I saying? Oh yeah, she made no comment so who knows? Speculate away.
Well, in my opinion, for what that's worth (nothing), the move was particularly sloppy, especially his body rotation and his unnecessary knee tuck.
He goes from an angled backflip since he's on the outside corner to somehow twisting his body so that his head is perpendicular to the ring/feet perpendicular to the guard rail or whatever was there.
Even if his body didn't rotate like that and he just did a simple backflip at the correct angle, it looked damn near impossible to catch him with his knees bent in the entire time.
I don't have the images or GIFs handy of other wrestlers performing corner moonsaults where they don't rotate their body position midair and they actually extend their legs so they can be caught, but they exist. HBK has done several "textbook" moonsaults that were easy to catch. Lance Storm also said something to that effect on his Twitter. But its not hard to tell the move was really screwed up.
Even if you want to say Jesse was too close in, at least if Zema didn't rotate and Zema didn't tuck his knees, it probably would have been just a hard crash and bump. There is no way that move and that spot was designed for Jesse to have to face the ring in order to catch Zema properly and avoid Zema's knees and body from breaking his neck. I just don't see how you safely catch Zema with his knees like that unless its a crossbody attack or something.
That's just my take on it from watching those GIFs and YouTube videos of the incident more times than necessary.
