What a jackass. Although I admit to liking Mass Effect, Bioware sucks. And I absolutely hate it when people tell me a game has "RPG elements." "We have big debates on whether GTA is an RPG, for example. It's got all the elements, it just doesn't have the numbers." Having a character learn skills/get stronger does not constitute "RPG elements." That's just "video game elements." I also hate it when people tell me they like RPGs, then I ask what they like, and they say, "Oh, you know, like KOTOR."
...And yeah, it's been said but it bears repeating: RPGs are far more enjoyable with my TV and speakers than with the DS. Not that it's a deal-breaker, but still, why the DS?
I actually agree with him. While I still like JRPGs he's correct in saying that there's almost no evolution. While most Bioware games have a similar layout they tend to play completely differently. If you don't think so ask all the people that loved KOTOR but hate Jade Empire, or all the new fans they got with Mass Effect who would probably never play a roll based game like Dragon Age.
"Bioware sucks?" I don't think so. I'm already on my 3rd playthrough of Dragon Age and each time it's almost totally different due to the different outcomes and character classes. I love the Tales series but once you play one of those games it's the same every time. KOTOR is far more of a ROLE PLAYING game than any JRPG seeing as how you actually make your own character to ROLE PLAY.
