being that it just expired a few days ago, they should be able to extend it with little hassle. that's one thing they're not too bad about. they like taking your money for warrenty plans because they dont think you'll use it.

Jesus... has everyone's 360 died already?! No way am I getting one for VF5 in June if so many people's have died and the system is barely a year old....

Sometimes, you'll get a vendor to fix a problem that's out of warranty if it's close to the system being out of warranty, like a month. Otherwise, they'll tell you to get lost.

Don't be surprised if the extended warranty is more than a couple hundred bucks. I know renewing the warranty on my D800 for the fourth year was like $250 for a year with the on-site warranty and the CompleteCare, which is accidental damage protection.

Mine worked flawlessly for exactly a year, but the ol' boy just couldn't make it. I am trying not to be pissed off about it, but I really am. I thought it would NEVER happen to me, ever. I took such good fucking care of the thing. At least they are fixing it for free.

WTF HAPPENED TO CHEESEBALLS!? I thought I saw someone with them in the supermarket the other day but all I can find is little snack packs (kiddie size) of cheetos brand cheeseballs.... that doesn't fucking cut it. I loved them as a kid... now I can't find them anywhere. I need my fix... sonofabitch!
 
Spent the Best Buy gift card I found on the ground ($70) this morning.

Got the wife a DS Sudoku game (Sudokumania? $10 in any event) and a case for her DS, and I got myself a Sony brand PSP case that closely resembles the logitech plastic case, and two cds (Brian Setzer and Sepultura). Setzer's kinda disappointing so far, but since I put $4 out of pocket for all this, I can't be mad.

Now I have to look over a submission we received this morning on the relationship b/w childhood spanking and alcoholism. This should be exciting...

Gamestop email I got a little bit ago made it seem as if GoW2 was only available on the PS3, coming out in early March -- no mention of PS2 version anywhere in the newsletter, no link, etc.

As far as the "pulled a Nintendo" goes, I was referring to the combination of BS they've pulled with the Wii -- they've done it with Super Paper Mario and they probably would've done it with LoZ:TP if they could've...

God of War 2 is a PS2 game. There's a rumor, that the reason David Jaffe isn't working on GoW 2 is so he can work on on GoW 3 for the PS3. That hasn't been confirmed.

What has been confirmed though, is that GoW 2 won't be as good as the first since Jaffe isn't directing it.

I walked into a GS for the first time in months yesterday... their employee was nice and knowledgeable and all, but I felt a little under seige by all his questions.
 
I went into GameStop last week, or so... Don't know how long it's been before that.

Anyway, I asked the employee if they had Galactic Wrestling, and he went on a two or three minute helpful tally of other places I could check, and other places that would be cheaper, as they didn't have it.
 
I tend not to go in there much, unless they're the sole place that has what I'm looking for. Either that, or they have penny guides I'm looking for.

In the last few months, I've been in there a bit more often, mainly on trading in a whole horde of games during the 3/+$10 promotion, and trying to check back when they have Wii's in stock. :roll:

Generally the employees at GS are not the problem. It's the structure of the company.

Beat Pikmin. Loved that game. Glad I have #2 to move onto now. Got all parts in 21 days and I'm pretty sure I could have shaved another couple days off without a ton of pain. I see there is a 9-day challenge guide on gamefaqs (figured there'd be one there for a short completion.) Wow.
 
Looks like there's a wootoff today. Missed a couple of things already. I would liked to have gotten in on the USB 2.0 Wireless adapter ($17)and Logitech Bluetooth headset($15).

As for employees not being the problem... I gotta disagree with that. They always have this level of arrogance. Them being a nerd, nerd hierarchy is very important to them -- afterall, World of Warcraft wouldn't have sold millions for just any reason.

Back to the point, they think they're on the top of the nerd pole ( [Insert Butt-Head laughter here] ) because they serve lowly nerds, at the mercy of their horrible trade-in values.

as far as the GS guy... i dunno what level of employee he was, but he started hounding me about whether or not I had any games to trade. also, i don't even have a Wii (he does, apparently), but I was informing HIM of what's recently showed up on the VC.
 
I also am not a fan of Bluetooth headsets. Make you look like a tool.

But, it would be beneficial while driving and in class I can look like a tool instead of looking like I'm listening music and not my teachers lectures.

When they're ridiculously big, yeah, it does help you look tool-like.

The one I picked up for my A900, the Samsung WEP200, is tiny. Smallest one I've seen, and it's pretty good on reception.

Damn you. I played through that twice and failed to get all of the necessary parts in time. I'll have to go through with an FAQ to see what I missed.

Is Pikmin 2 clearanced at CC? I remember seeing copies there since nobody ever touches anything Cube over there.

Speaking of the original xbox I think it's about time I put my old one on craig's list. Probably put it up for 100 bucks out the door, and toss in any games that don't work on the 360.
 
From what I've heard, GoW2 is going to be pretty good. They haven't changed much on the basic physics and what not, but they added alot of depth to the gameplay such as grappeling opponents and stuff. I think it's still going to be a great game, but i doubt it will be as good as the first.

Also, maybe this is just a glass half full kind of thing, but I think I fixed my mouse. We'll see how it pans out in the next couple hours.

Sometimes, pointing devices can be ... "distracted"... for lack of a better word. Think of the N64 analog stick problem where it's like you're pressing a direction even when you're not touching the stick. My laptop will sometimes have a wandering pointer... if i take my wrists/forearms off the base of the laptop for a second, it stops and I can resume normal function.

Edit: The "LeakFrog" on woot amuses me for some reason, but I can't see needing one at the moment.

Believe me, I know the whole shabang about being a big guy and alcohol. I'm 370 (bigger than yourself from what I've gathered), and I have a pretty high tolerance. Though I will say that I used to be at least a hundred pounds lighter, but because I had a bad drinking problem for 2 years after I turned 21, thats what put on all the extra weight. About not throwing up, you're dead wrong about that buddy lol. I can't count how many times I've had so much (like taking a fifth of whiskey straight to the dome in about 3 hours) that everything decided to come out of my stomach. Put it this way, between that, and puking from hangovers, it no longer really hurts when I have dry heaves when I'm sick.

And Jimmie, I've heard a couple of tracks by Lupe Fiasco, and like what I heard. Never heard anything by The Roots. As for my thinking that they're a typicle "rap" thing, I know they're not. Its not like they're DMX or 50 Cent and trying to be all thug like. If I have nothing better to do and the money I'll consider it. But like I said 30 bucks for a ticket at The Norva is one of the highest price range for them. Tix on average range between 15-20.

I scoped out what I'd want to do with a given day (maybe even trying out a few tactics to see which worked best for a part or parts) and then reloaded the day to actually do it quite a few times. If I had gone through without 'planning sessions' I probably would have used up at least an extra week.

No idea if Pikmin 2 is clearanced anywhere. Got it in a bundle with my GC, which worked out great for me as I had sold off the copy I picked up a yard sale a long time ago just a week or two before.
