My boss just said 'Sup?' to me.

I had no idea what to say.
I haven't heard him be so informal before.
Tell him, now that it's raining more then ever, know that you'll still have each other, he can stay under your umbrella.

He won't ask "Sup?" again.
Flight of the Conchords is an incredible show. I hope it starts to get the respect it deserves over all the other trash on HBO.

OTT title sucks. Sorry sixers.
I posted clips of it and asked if anyone was a fan.
I even said the show would be "right up your alley".

Yes, it's a great show.
I hope they tour Texas inbetween seasons.

The best thing in life is: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"

This one is currently in rotation on HDNet Movies BTW.

Hmm, so I returned my cable box & stuff to my cable provider like a month ago, but never received the check for the canceled time. I have a feeling they sent the check to my old address (I moved). Anyone have any experience in dealing with that?

It should be forwarded to you, but that often slows things way down. Unless you moved so long ago that stuff is no longer forwarded? I believe 1st class mail is forwarded for quite a while though. This also assumes you filled out the form with the USPS to have your address changed.

But even if it's never forwarded they'll cut you a new check. Eventually.

An even more fun possibility is that they screwed up and haven't actually closed your account.

Yeah, but I'd asked about it a few posts before that post, cuz I remember thinking "how in the hell did Dallow miss this."

And then I told myself "oh, it is his bleary eyes from stalking behind computer screens and hitting keyboards with unsatisfied fingers."

Yes. That is what I told myself.

If they go to Dallas, we can meet up and enjoy their music, all the while me punching you in the face with whatever instrument I have handy. Ho ho! Handy! I'm so funny.

Ya, I didn't have the mail forwarded due to the fact the only piece of mail I received there was the cable bill (and after 1 cable bill I switched it to the online bill, so I didn't receive any mail for the 6 months I lived there). The reason is basically that I live (and have lived) on-campus as a staff person for my university for 4 years. For part of this year, I was moved to a location that was leased by the university until I could be moved back on campus. So the rest of my mail went through the university, but I had to have the bill mailed to the physical address where the cable was.

They asked me for a new address to send the check, and they said it'd be out in 5 days, but it's been about a month. I just checked my online account and it says I was credited the amount, but just this week.

I'm probably going to call them Friday (I work 8-5:15 M-TH this week, and they're customer service is only open 8:30-4:30), and hopefully they'll send a new check out.

Any mail after that point gets returned to the sender. While the mail forward is up and running, the mail will end up being forwarded, and the sender will get a note about the change of address.
For the first time in a while, I'm awake before 9. I've actually got time to sit around this morning.
For the first time in a while, I'm awake before 11.

I'll have to get up at 8AM tomorrow though. Disney World, here I come!!!

In that case, both oops and ouch are required in this post.

Woot, another week with the boss gone. :D

Of course it would have to be 38-39 degrees during the day... fuckin summer.

That should work. Most places are pretty good about canceling the old check and cutting a new one. But they'll do it eventually regardless.

Some of us have been up since 6:30AM, thankyouverymuch.

Yeah, but some of us eat dinner after 5:30 PM, not caring to save 50 cents on the country buffet.

It's summer vacation!! The last one before I enter the real world of internships/jobs! Not everyone is an :oldman: here.

Well done sir, well done.

I am happy that I am finishing up my job here, but the only real downside is the job I'm going back to... I'm working 6-3.

On the plus side, I'm not working full-time, so it's actually a lot less, but about the same pay.

Saw this at the ebgames site.
So that means I can trade to cheap Wii games from CC and get Paper Mario free?

Figure I'd ask the OTTers.

(i know it says gundam, but I think that's a mistake, just copied info from the PS3 coupon of same deal)

My mom is an idiot.

She asked if she could throw away some magazines I just got on Saturday from my friend for helping her move, that I haven't even read yet. Meanwhile, there is trash all over the floor that needs to be picked up, such as old newspaper, tissues, various other misc. crap that is pretty much entirely her fault. I told her this and she starts yelling at me. God I hate her sometimes. Like I've said before, she doesn't cook or clean at all. She does nothing all day. If I try to clean, the result is the same after about a week. So glad that I'll be gone for a week tomorrow, without her.

Aye. If you go to CC and get Avatar and Meet the Robinsons for roughly $34, you can get a game at EB.

I imagine this also works at Gamestop.

Woke up earlier then usual today. Only ten minutes earlier, but still. For some reason, no one passed me today while I was biking. I wasn't going faster than usual, so I guess there weren't many people out. Maybe I should bike earlier every day.

Exactly what I wanted to do, thanks Strell.

omgz did i just say dat?

It's ok my dear.... it's going to be... ok.

Why are you mad? This is the perfect opportunity for trash angels!

I'd do that EB/GS deal but I can't think of any Wii game I want for $34. Cooking Mama was okay but that's really a $20 game. And I'm sure they won't let me preorder.

Trade for credit then.
Though, how much would one get... hmm

Plus you get an extra 10% credit when you use it towards a preorder.

(all according to the website)
Gates of Fire is really good so far. Thanks for the rec frosty.

Got any other books you'd throw out there? (Or I think you said a friend mentioned it and you hadn't read it yourself yet? Think he has any others to suggest?)
Any particular subject matter?

About the only thing I figure I don't have that I'd like would be Raving Rabbids, and that'll be $29.99 sooner or later.

I doubt those games pull $34 or more in credit. But who knows.

So it will work at Gamestop, right? I like knowing these things before I go to the store.

I might get Harry Potter. I'm a sucker for the series and this latest one appears to resolve most of the issues I had with earlier ones, as well as adding a huge dose of missions.

It's too bad they don't have that deal for 360, because I would love to pick up The Darkness, but there's no way I'm paying full price for any game over the next several months.

Should work at Gamestop yes.

The reason I say to use the credit is because io in the deals thread said he traded in a set for a Wii preorder.

So, must have been worth it to get the credit on them.
I'd use them for the free game though. ($34 game that is)

Some EB/GS will let you trade 2 games and get 1 preorder. That is most likely what he meant.

However my stores last time this promo ran told me it could only be on instock games, therefore I couldn't do it for a preorder.

Also holy shit KoL is so fucking lagged. It's probably going to be this way for weeks while people play all their multis and spade all the content. Sigh.

Ahh, I see.
I'll just get Paper Mario. Only game I actually want to play at the moment on Wii, even if the Harry Potter commercial was cool.

They adjust the credit upwards to match the cost of the game you're buying at the time you do the trade-in. Some might do pre-orders, others won't. And the extra 10% towards a pre-order doesn't count with a T2B1.

Yeah, I imagine it was for credit that IO used it, not to get a free game on pre-order.

EDIT:

Is it true that PS1 had a game released just last year?
Dora the Explorer?

I doubt it. Last T2G1 he was able to trade 2 and rpeorder games like MP8 and such in full. I'm sure he's just donig it like that again.
