We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.

I got the valve complete pack from crafting. Thing is I already own all those games besides Portal 2. If I unpack the gift will I be able to trade or give away all the games I already have but still keep portal 2?

Hmm, Valve complete pack was still showing $49.99. I got excited for a minute thinking I could stack it with my 33% off coupon, then I went to the cart and it changed to $99 regular price. Now I can pay $66 for something that was $49 a few minutes ago.

Wow, aren't these coupons great prizes? *sarcasm*

If a game you have a coupon hits a daily, then actually it would be pretty nice, considering the daily.

I mean I have a 50% off Borderlands GOTY and when it hits $7.50 again, if it does, I can get it for like $3.25.

That's what I'm hoping for. Or, at least trading some of these to other people who might be able to use them. I'll be keeping tabs on the sales.
 
Airline Tycoon 2 has a 50 percent coupon. Anyone have it and mind adding the game to your cart so we can see if they work with current sales?

Crafting it will most likely get you a Valve coupon which isn't good for any games released this year. If you think that's worth it, then go for it.
 
Can anyone else tell me how Saints Row The Third runs on PC? I missed the Steam deal unfortunately but I still might buy it. I'm also looking for opinions on the 360 version. I hated Saints Row 2 cars popping in and out. I couldn't stand it. Wondering if this happens on 360 and PC

As for the question about how it runs, well...honestly I really didn't notice any problems with it on my PC. I think it might have crashed once, but other than that nothing really jumps out at me. It's much more solid PC port compared to the POS port of Saints Row 2.

Game is amazing. Just beat it a few hours ago. Never played too (thanks to the terrible coop) but 3 from what I hear fixed a lot of the problems. Car's don't dissapiar when you turn away from them anymore either.
 
Sounds like I might pick it up for PC. I love these games but I hated seeing a car I wanted to jack and turning around and all the traffic was gone. It drove me crazy on the 360.

The PC version is supposed to be the best followed by the PS3 and then the 360. The 360 has some framerate issues. I've been playing it using OnLive which is technically the PC version and I haven't had any pop in issues or traffic disappearing, but it's not exactly the same experience so that may not hold true for other PC players.

Very badly for many people, I'm one of them and stopped playing it, hoping they fix it with a patch. They claim to be working on it but its been a month and a half. I really regret buying it for PC.

does anyone know how long it usually takes to have your account activated by a moderator on the steampowered forums? i made mine around 2 o'clock EST but it still won't let me post. There are some people who have what i want and want what i have and it's freaking me out that i can't offer!
 
Seems like it took them about 12 hours the other day to validate my account.

PC version runs fine for me and much better then the 2nd game. Co-op however in my experience is pretty bad still.. I'm also running under the minimum recommended settings as well.
 
Hmm even though this sale felt like a letdown for me, I spent quite an amount of cash. Mostly on smaller games instead of big titles this time though. Here's my list:

For about the second or third sale in a row I let the Magicka DLC sit in my cart and forgot to complete the transaction. Oops. At least they go on sale regularly.

I hope there are publisher sale weeks like there were last year. I bought the Squeenix pack in Feb, and I think there was an EA week and others too. My notes suck.

I was like that as well. Took about a day for mine to be verified. The Steam forum is a mess right now though, and it makes it a lot worse now that the search feature has been disabled (and the google search is broken). I have to refresh constantly to find people trading games that I want.

I'll just check back tomorrow after school then. Hopefully the people don't trade the games I'm looking for. :(

Did they do the drawing yet? I can't imagine myself winning, but that would be incredible even if I were to win the bottom prize (the Valve Complete Collection pack).

The game doesn't run well for some. Runs fine for me and many others. NVidia/Intel here. YMMV.

RollingSkull's sentiments seem to be shared by those who have compared SR2 to SR3 feature for feature and don't subscribe to the notion that sometimes less is more. I, on the other hand, never played SR2 and found SR3 to be immensely entertaining.
