We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Ah okay thanks. Sounds like I will be passing on getting multiples of War in the North for a giveaway then. I'm sure it will be on sale for $5 elsewhere sooner or later.

Ya it is a shame valve didn't think of that ahead of time, Just borrowing the community "Game hubs" is basically filled with a ton of screen shots of digital bikini's and crotch/cleavage/butt shots. The Batman City game hub alone is nothing but Harley butt/cleavage shots.

Even left 4 dead is a bunch of screen shots of peoples porn/anime porn wall tags LOL poor valve...so much to clean up.

I think it's on sale on OnLive this week, but of course you can't register those on Steam and I'm not really sure what the gifting policies are.

Hm. I tried back when I was playing the heck out of this game around 6-8 months ago to get the one achievement tied to MP and I couldn't join a game. Community may be dead on PC.

Well, that escalated slower than I thought it would. The internet is usually faster about such things to where we'd see it before I went to sleep yesterday.

I hope they address this during the beta period because this is kind of crappy.
 
All this talk is not exactly making me sad I don't have a beta invite. Sounds like Valve may not have thought this through completely.
 
Had to bite on LoTR for 4 bucks. I mean hell, if I can get 2 hours of entertainment out of it then its worth it to me.

I can dispute this one. I just bought WotN and my account email for GMG and paypal email are different and I had no issues at all.

Do you have to be apart of the beta to experience this awesome trainwreck, or can anyone experience this drive by attraction?

They changed it then because it used to never be that way. Good to know that they're trying to fix some things. I haven't purchased anything from GMG since the before Dead Island released (Pre-ordered it through them) because of the pain in the ass it has been for me to purchase multiple copies.

I believe they said they converted they TF2 hub to the new format so everyone could preview it but I imagine if people porn spammed that up Valve would notice sooner there.

The rest of the site though you need a beta invite. 50K went out yesterday and each of those people should have got an extra they can give to a friend.

I just tried it on my work PC and didnt find it that bad but maybe I am desensitized. I wouldn't pull it up with my boss looking over my shoulder but I wouldn't pull up CAG either. It helps that I am in IT and control most of the systems that would track any of that anyway though.

Just don't go into the Left 4 Dead Hub lots of actual nudity because of Wall/Spray tags people put on the walls in that game being screenshoted.

The others are just semi nude digital women. But still prolly better to play it safe in a work environment...Unless you have the power of IT :cool:

True it's not really bad by any means. However viewing that at work can be risky since some places are absolute about that stuff. And yes, I've seen that little corner of internet hell that no man should ever see and this seems "normal" compared to that little corner. Though from game screenshots, you won't really get any of that really bad shit.

And how long does Lord of the Rings War of the North take to finish? Great price, but not too interested in adding another 40 hours to the backlog. I've enjoyed all the action LOTR titles I've played on the console though.
 
The War in the North deal made me finally create a GMG account.

I wanted two copies of the game. One for me and one for hubby.

Yeah, it should be posted somewhere. GMG is one copy of any item. Gamersgate is two copies of any item (and that treats multi pack and base game separately).

It's kind of surprising to me in this age with the flexibility of digital downloads that there are still such limitations on buying multiple copies of a game and gifting. Even Valve does it to an extent with the no 4 packs for owners thing.

Don't get me wrong, I am appreciative for these safeguards when I have attempted to re-buy a game I forgot I own, which has happened more times than I care to admit, but still it seems like a no brainer to me that if you slash the price down on a game with co-op that people will want to gift copies to their friends.

And I get that but couldn't they do like a limit 4 or hell even just a limit of one for yourself and one for a friend like Gamersgate does?
It's not like anyone is going to get rich off of selling 1-4 Steam keys and if they really want to they can always make a bunch of dummy shill accounts with different Paypal info.

Ya, I guess it is one of those,"We'll make it inconvenient" type things. Good for them and, maybe even the publishers who do deals with them?

But I agree it is kind of a hassle when you can't get extra copies for friends/family. Not to mention they make it a hassle to even do a cancel/rebuy when you already bought a game during a previous sell. By the time CS gets back to you the new sale is already done.

Maybe we should just use the power that is Coconut and send them a mass wave of support tickets asking for this feature allowing gift copies.
 
Okay, out of curiosity on the multiple purchase issue (and my own cheapness not wanting to blow a once-per-account 20% coupon on a $5 steam key)....

I made a second GMG account with a different email addy. It wouldn't let me use my paypal account that I used on my primary GMG account. I successfully paid with the same Visa that is linked to my palpal account. It wasn't much trouble. Coming next week, asheskitty explores the dark side of a second paypal account for fun and cheapness.

Edit: FYI, the 20% code a few posts back worked on a brand new account.

I really like Unstoppable Gorg.

It has more charisma in one level than the entirety of Defense Grid. The fundamentals are well done and the audio/video shines. It's absolutely worth $2.50 if you missed it in that Indie Royale bundle.

I just found it odd that a lengthy post about Onlive found its way into the Steam thread. If that's cool with everybody then I'd like to post other non-Steam deals without reproach, as well. Namely, every time Okami is discounted.

Did anyone get any stuff put into their trade inventory? I received Delve Deeper Treasures and Tunnels DLC and Fallout New Vegas Gun Runners Arsenal DLC back into my inventory. What is weird is I won both of these on Steamgifts and redeemed them. When I check the DLC on both of those games in my library it shows I have it.
 
All the Community updates have awakened the slumbering Elder Steam Gods. Don't do anything to arouse their anger, like by trading or selling off ghost/undead inventory items.
 
So I was given an 75% off coupon for Portal 2 by deviousnaraku. I own it but it was through a PS3 key and for some reason was not given one. I bought a second copy with that 75% coupon for my GFs account and now she has a 75% off coupon! hahah

I am going to trade it to my primary account and can give it to the first person to ask!

Ugh .. and I thought the stuttering on Batman AC was bad .... that is definitely unplayable in that state. Just picked up the game as well so I'll see later tonight if I have those issues.

I have always preferred ATI card over Nvidia, but with the number of games lately that are having ATI specific issues I am rethinking my next GC purchase ...

After accepting the Steam Community Beta Access, and then clicking on the DOTA 2 game hub, I saw there was a link to the store page. It was hashtag city, as expected, but it allowed me to associate the game with my account and install it.

I'm probably the only person I can think of who wasn't already in the beta, and the store page has a link to sign up for a free invite, but it's still a nice little bonus, IMO.

Edit: Too good to be true, mostly. As of today, EVERY steam account gets an spectator-only client of DOTA 2. To play the game, you either have to sign up with the hardware survey and continue to wait or purchase a new legendary bundle for $29.99, which gives you instant access and several items.

So I tried Unstoppable Gorg and it was fun and I respect the twist they put on the standard TD formula but for some reason it didn't wow me. It entertained me the moments I was playing it but the second I turned it off I was not left with any desire to play it again. I will probably pick it up once it hits $1 haha

It was in a Indie Royale bundle at one point so cheap keys might be floating around.
 
I just finished the first episode of Adam's Venture.

Hm.

The game takes place at the location of the gates of the Garden of Eden, which science has managed to find. It's up to Adam to find out how to open the gates. On the one hand, the graphics are surprisingly good. The artists sure spent a lot of time making the game pretty darn attractive, and there are parts that definitely suggest a real beauty. This is marred, however, by the irritating protagonist who is named Adam and who has a wife named Evelyn. There are plenty of religious jokes, starting early with something like:

Evelyn: We don't have any food!
Adam: Well, we have a crate of apples. It's just the last time a woman ate an apple around here, things got kinda ugly.

Hardy har.

The game tries to help you figure out what to do at times with an arrow here or there, but at others it abandons you pretty thoroughly. I looked up the solutions for puzzles several times.

Keep in mind, also, the game is short. Like, perhaps 3 hours. I was intrigued by the idea, wanting to get the gates of Eden open and see what was inside. I kept playing, and when I wasn't doing the really frustrating puzzles, it wasn't that bad of a game. The Christian references that popped up frequently were pretty charming.

Can I recommend it? Not really. The game is pretty annoying at times, and there are a few glitches that mar the experience. It's very pretty and interesting, though. Certainly there aren't many games bold enough to take a Christian edge. Unfortunately, none of the characters are very likable, and the dialogue is often painful.

I think it's obvious a lot of love went into this title, but that it just wasn't super well-directed. It comes off as a bit cheesy, which isn't really doing credit to the source material. Humor is good, but the danger element of the game is too frequently belittled by poor character interaction.

If you can get the game as on sale as it was recently, getting all episodes for under $5 - well, there are worse ways to waste time.
 
I couldn't say no to LOTR: War of the North. I mean I had $10 in GMG credit so I spent nothing. :lol:

So yeah that free copy of Disciples II that I got from GMG turned into $5 credit when I traded it in which in return got me free LOTR. I also got Disciples II from the Indie Gala at a cheap price.

Winner is me. :D
