Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V5! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 10/28
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Actually the base game of L.A. Noire is $4.99
The Complete Edition is $7.49

How long you been working on that backlog? lol

Keep at it and you might graduate from the minor league.

Though seriously? Not one?
Gal Civ 1 is also 75% off at 2.50.

How low was Assasin's Creed Revelations?
Galactic Civilizations Complete Pack is $6.24 (Gal Civ 1&2 UE)
The content is there, but if you're not gonna play it immediately, no sense in not waiting for a significantly discounted GOTY. I count BL2 as one of my 3 "full-price" purchased games in the last 6 years or so.
I still have a DLC pack to finish on the original BL - so no rush. I agree though, there are always exceptions well worthwhile. For me it was Diablo 3 and Skyrim, though I try to get a little back in the form of a gift card or something if possible.

You could count Halo 4 as well, but that one had so many gift cards and AmEx rebates going for it that I'm pretty sure they paid me to buy it and play it. I sure hope that trend continues!

Anyone who doesn't have Deus Ex: HR, do yourself and pick it up at that price. That's a steal - fantastic game. Can't wait until I have the time to play it through again.

the two latest transformers games seem cool, but i'd like to try wfc before foc. anyone know how long it's going to be on sale for? (i've got some credit at gs i'm looking to use on steam cards, so i'm wondering whether i should go today, or wait for tomorrow).

2013 Summer Sale.

Doesn't look like Gearbox/2K is prepared to lower the DLC price significantly just yet.

i can't think of what else i could do that i didn't do in my first playthrough. i usually like to stick to stealth (and the game isn't great for combat) so i didn't play it after i beat it once. that's just me though, other people probably like to try the different upgrades.

i'm hoping for the winter sale at least.
i might have to just pay full price for the mechromancer since thats the character I want to play as now

sweet. i guess i'll hit gs tomorrow and grab a $20 steam card.

i'm willing to wait. i didn't get the first borderlands until earlier this year when they had the goty edition with all of the dlc for 7.99 :)

Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai is $10.19 by itself, but the collection:
-game
-dragon war battle pack
-the obama faction pack
-the saga faction pack
-the sendai faction pack
-the tsu faction pack

is $9.99 (no brainer)

But I know Fall of the Samurai was at least $8 before, should I wait and see if it actually becomes a flash deal or just get it?

Seriously, I just build my computer like 2 months ago and i have over 170 steam games in my library, and then a few on Origin, GFWL, and then my blizzard and non drm games on top of it. I can say I have beat a few of them already though, so I feel a little bit better about that, but there is some sort addiction like qualities to what we do.

So for anyone that has the game here on steam...can you confirm that you can buy the DLC in-game through ea? And if so, does anyone know the prices? Thanks!

For achievements whores, there's a chv for going through the whole game without killing anyone and another for not setting off any alarms. I combined the two, successfully and permanently raising my blood pressure a notch.

DXHR is also one of those games I'm going to replay in a few years when I have better hardware. I did that with Bioshock, with enjoyment equal to my ultra-low-settings-single-core-box initial run.

Same. Although I'm more of a 'Prefers original Deux Ex and HR was good for what it was' type of guy. I played through on 'Deus Ex' difficulty going stealth/pacifist and never really felt the urge to go back and play through again as 'frontal assault' build. At that point it would just feel like any other FPS. Moreover, there are quite a few superfluous/unneeded skill points.

Yep. I got the first Borderlands as gift when it first launched. It was fun but I didn't find the co-op that mind blowing. When the second one launched I just saw more of the same and less people I knew were playing it (and I'd rather not subject myself to public co-op). It's a fun Diablo-with-guns game but something I can definitely wait for the inevitable price crash.

I doubt fall of the samurai will be a flash or daily deal by itself. I suspect the mark down we see with Shogun 2 is the best it will get this sale.

I've double dipped on a couple games that I've beaten on 360, but other than that I've been buying stuff without a PC to play it on for the longest time.. Finally got a nice rig in September and a good monitor a few weeks ago so I'm trying to put a dent in the backlog. Part of my problem is I get half way through games then lose my saves and don't feel like replaying through stuff.

Look at the Green Man Gaming Thread on this forum. With a Coupon Code, the Season Pass was like $18-$22 recently depending upon the actual price before the coupon was taken into account.

EDIT: Coupon no longer works but it is $22.99. Still cheaper than no discount at all.

Just played a hour and half of Mark of the Ninja. That IS a fun game. I suck at stealth but it has checkpoints so that's okay :p

Deadlight looks really interesting but I can probably wait a while before I buy it. It's not like I need another post-apocalyptic game when I already have a nice little pile of those. (Left 4 Dead, Rage, Metro 2033, Fallout 3/NV, The Walking Dead, Dead Island, etc.) Deadlight is going on my wishlist though!

do you happen to have a link to the thread?
I'll look for it.

When it's on sale, I always humor the L.A. Noire page just in case its the Complete Edition being discounted to $5. Sadly, the game has maintained its $7.49 discount price.

I will continue to be stubborn; I'm a CAG with a price cap.

Either the Wishlist indicator on the main page is buggin out, or my abnormally large... wishlist has managed to render the wishlist indicator useless!

Pretty sure they unlinked them at the start of the sale to cut down load.... I remember during the summer sale it bugged out pretty hard.

I think it would be simpler to put the games you don't want on your Wishlist.
Wow, I am completely shocked BL2 went to 50% off. My buddies and I all grabbed the game from Amazon since we figured it would only go to 33% off if it made it to a daily deal. Could have saved an extra $10 or so each if we had just got a 4 pack lol.

Regardless, it's a very fun game, so anyone on the fence should jump on it, especially at this price. Don't forget to get the DLC for cheap at Green Man Gaming, unless that sale is over!
BL2 for the 4-Pack price is the lowest I've seen for download I think.

Chivalry looks cool for $13

No one can 100% guarantee it, but almost every cross-platform game on Steam gives you both the Windows and Mac versions. If that's your plan, buy with confidence that it will work.

Yes. Which makes me wonder why I even bother putting things on my wishlist. ;)
