Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V5! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 10/28
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.
It's not Humble Bundle quality of course. But for Indie Gala, it looks surprisingly good. I wonder why they didn't include Alien Breed 1 though?
Because the dev knows that some people will probably buy the first if they own 2 and 3?

Right. But if they were looking to encourage people to buy the last game in the trilogy, why didn't they do AB1 & AB2 and hope people would buy AB3?
Right. But why didn't they do AB1 & AB2 and hope people would buy AB3?
Because they knew I need AB3, and that it would piss me off if they didn't offer AB3 in this bundle. You can thank me for that :)

Because not including alien breed 1 is a bigger fuck you.
Wasn't Alien Breed 1 in one of the previous Groupees Build a Bundles?
Yeah, it was. And Alien Breed 2 was one of the ticket items for the 2011 summer steam event (that's how I got it). All I need is Alien Breed 3.
Huh. Interested in CoC, but nothing else. Hopefully some cag will let me buy the CoC key off them for $1 or something.
It's The Wasted Land, there won't be a key for it. Plus, I think the bundle might only have the android only version according to the source code.

Damn, wouldn't mind getting it for my phone. But not sure I want to pick up the entire bundle. I guess we'll see how it goes. Still hoping I can work out a deal with a Cag for it somehow.

Groupees Build a Bundle just reached their 5000 sales goal so now everyone how purchased it before gets a key for Avencast: Rise of the Mage.
that bundle is kinda meh. i'll wait until the bonus games unlock and see if it's worth it then.
The bonus games will be Worms Pinball and Alien Breed 3.

So at this moment, we have 7 different bundles running.

Humble Bundle 6
Indie Royale: Back to School Bundle
Groupies: Build A Bundle 3
Groupies: Winter Wolves
Bundle In a Box: Deep Space Bundle
Indie Gala 9
&
Indie Face Kick.

The Cthulu game is only the android APK, no key for it. Coincidentally before I even bought the bundle my IG Profile page allowed me to DL the APK for it and the other android game so you might want to check your page if that is all you are interested in.
Tales of Monkey Island is today's deal at 75% off ($8.74)
The person that wrote the description for chapter 3 must have had previous work in the ol' bodice ripper genre.

For example:

In the third Tales of Monkey Island chapter, Guybrush gets in deep (literally!)...
...sexy pirate hunter Morgan LeFlay prove to be a ruthless enemy, or an unlikely ally?
Tales of Monkey Island's moist and absorbing third episode...
...builds to its epic climax!
Well, if it didn't have Hard Truck Apocalypse in it, I would have passed on it too. That said, the Strategy First bundle looks like a lot of garbage for $12... I honestly was likely going to buy it just for Hard Truck Apocalypse and one or two other games. The 1C bundle, on the other hand, looks awesome.

I probably would have grabbed HTA for $3 by itself though, so I may not hold the popular opinion here, lol. If you're an old fan of Twisted Metal, Vigilante 8, and other car combat games, and an RPG nut too, HTA is a fun game if you overlook the massive flaws and learn to laugh at the horrible translation. Definitely worth $1.

(Be sure to copy and paste your own music into the game's music folders too. It makes it really easy for you to sub in your own badass soundtrack. Five Finger Death Punch and ESTK? Yes please.)

I'd imagine it's too late now, but you do realize that beating the average only gets you Dustforce, right? Otherwise you can get just the 4 other games for $1 (or a penny if you don't want Steam keys).
Is the Strat first bundle even listed yet? Tony said he is still working on putting it together. If it has 25-30 games as he said it would, I would find it hard to imagine that I couldn't pick at least 5 out of there that would be worth playing. Then I could sell any steam keys I dont need/want. All that said, maybe I was a little harsh, for a dollar the IFK is not all that bad even if only one game interests you. I may bite just for HTA, but it would be a waste if I end up buying the strat first pack and it also includes that. Decisions, decisions.

And yeah, I BTA mainly because I only spent a dollar on the last HIB and felt this bundle was well worth the five bucks I paid. I also regretted not beating the average last time. After watching some videos on dustforce I am very glad I BTA. Looks like great game.
Why do you dislike Desura? Not enough golf games?
I dislike Desura because it felt like it was slowing down my i5 3570K system. Also I find it eaiser to manage my DRM free games by keeping all the links to bundles/games in a word document, all my .exe files in a folder, and all my DRM-free games in another folder. Having to keep track of Desura would just be more of a pain. The only reason I could see myself installing it again is if I somehow lose my links, .exe files, or the game/s itself. To each his own.
Indie Gala 9

Worms crazy Golf

It's hidden in the indie gala site source code
In for one!!! Group buy though. I almost bought this game during the steam summer sale, but thought it looked like crap. Super stickman golf is much better.

Don't fix what ain't broke.
I'm with Idiotekque, I bought IFK for $1 just for HTA, there have not been nearly enough car combat games in the past decade, and for $1 I'll bite (no matter how much I loathe the IFK antics). Mind you, I was following Carmageddon Resurrection long before they tossed pre-orders up on KickStarter (which made it a nice price break, and a way to help its production).

IG9:Worms looks interesting.

Re:HIB6 I'm happy to BTA when it is a strong bundle, paying $1/interesting-game is quite satisfactory. The last HIB:Android bundle was weaksauce for me (owned some it) so my BTA decision was based purely on the value of the BTA bait (which later hit the google play sale for $0.99).

Loved this game on Dreamcast. The fact that they only had to excise one of the songs from the original (I assume it's the Rob Zombie one?) is excellent news!

Quick question for anyone that may know:

The Gala Store has mediocre deals going on right now, but I am interested in one game:

Penguins Arena: Sedna's World is 99-cents.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/11280/

I checked it out on Steam, and it's listed, but is only sold through the "Action Indie Pack", seen here:

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2574/

I'm just curious if the pack has ever been 50% - 75% off during one of the seasonal sales? I probably won't be playing any of the games any time soon, so I'm in no rush. Plus, I am suspicious that IG will have them in a future bundle, but if that's not the case I'd like to grab the pack during a sale.

Thanks for any info.

Yeah if I recall correctly I bought this same pack during the Summer Sale for about $3-4.

I hope they release JSRF and sonic adventure 2 now (with VMU support of course).... Sega is surprisingly supportive of steam recently. hats off.

also, does anyone know if NBA2K13 will be released alongside the console versions on steam? hard to find anything on the net about it.

Oh, I'm being way too harsh on the SFI bundle. I'm sure there will be enough worthwhile games in it to make it worth it, I'm just extremely underwhelmed by SFI games in general.

I guess I'm hoping Tony will swing it for $9.99 instead of $12.49 too, since the 1C bundle will have over double the number of games and only be $2.50 more if that's how it goes... lol.

I bought 2K12 on Steam last year and that was pretty close to the console-version launch, if not the same day.
This is because I purchased the Worms Complete pack during the summer sale and still haven't played any of them. You're welcome, everyone.
Man... Torchlight is in a bundle and now the Worms games. Is any purchase safe from a future bundle inclusion?!

Forgot to say, loving this Gala bundle. Team 17 doesn't make the greatest games of all time, but they're a cool little company who knows what they're doing. I don't have any of these games, so the bundle gets a thumbs up for me. :)
Hermels Bundlers bonus methinks. I'm holding out.
yea, i would bet cash money this shows up in a bundle by the end of the winter. lol@ charging $10 for a RPG maker game anyway.

Ooooohhhh... Jet Set Radio trolled me on login. It showed a config page for "Controls" and then only let you select KEYBOARD.

Pleased to confirm that it does actually support the Xbox 360 (and maybe other) gamepads :D

Thanks for the heads-up, JSR is the kind of game I would really want to play with a controller.

Also, any rumors if Sonic Adventure 2 will be coming to Steam?

Jet Set Radio is great, but I wish they could find a way to port Jet Set Radio Future as well. I'd much rather play JSRF than JSR.
Thanks for the heads-up, JSR is the kind of game I would really want to play with a controller.
I couldn't even imagine trying to play JSR with a mouse & Keyboard. If it didn't have controller support, that would be a deal breaker for me.

Indie Royale's bonuses have unlocked. OSTs from Swords & Soldiers, Lunar Flight, and Bunny Must Die.

Sonic Adventure 2 was probably my favorite Sonic game and definitely the one I played the longest. Ignoring Generations, it probably gets my vote for best soundtrack in the series as well. Any idea if it's the DC or GameCube version? The GameCube release added several elements, but it removed a few as well iirc.

IIRC, the PC port of Crazy Taxi lacks analog controls, so JSR may be another victim of lazy Sega porting.

Went the bare min. on IG9, Worms & AB3 for $1 seem cool to me. Anything worth playing in the Deep Space bundle?

Two keys for Avencast ftw. I'm happy I purchased separately on SOTMC lol.

Right, right, but I'm thinking this is the path of the whole current HB. A medium sale for TtM just days before bundling.
IIRC, the PC port of Crazy Taxi lacks analog controls, so JSR may be another victim of lazy Sega porting.
Analog sticks worked fine for me.

"Whoooooooooah-oah...
The rev-rev-rev,

The rev-rev-rev,
Whoooooooooah-oah...
The rev-rev-rev,

The rev-rev-rev,
Viva! Viva! The Revolution!
Viva! Viva! The Revolution!
Viva! Viva! The Revolution!
Viva! Viva! The Revolution!"

That song will be stuck in your head all day now. Rock that shit homie.

Edit: tried linking the YouTube vid but think I brokeded the forum :(

It's great to finally see Jet Set Radio on Steam. The sad thing is that Skies of Arcadia's PC port vanished off the face of the Earth, along with any mention of Shenmue's potential PC release date.

Still, NiGHTS Into Dreams, Sonic Adventure 2, and, of course, Jet Set Radio are nice additions to the PC field.
