Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V5! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 10/28
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Ah, that must have been B.C. time... before Cheaplikeafox

I figure if it was going to pop up in another Humble Bundle then it would have by now.

I heard some people like it, others hate it?

I wanted to buy Terraria but the discount wasn't deep enough for me. Would jump on Sonic Generations but wondering if my laptop can run it. Laptop runs BL2 on low settings so maybe?

Wow. thanks for the heads up! Got in at $4.12! Great games. Dangerous High School Girls game for the win!

Woo! Thanks for the heads up. I never get in this early ($4.31).
Just an fyi, but DHGiT is pretty bad.
This.

I got it for like $4.99 and was excited about it. Played for two hours. Kept thinking, it's gotta get better.

It doesn't.

Makes no sense, mini-games aren't fun. It's just crap.

Picked up the new Indie Royale for $4.07 even though I probably won't play any of the games. Somehow, I can't stop myself from buying a bundle of Steam games so cheap. They're always "instant buys" for me especially if I don't have ANY of the games up for offer like this bundle.

I'm hoping today's deal is either Empire Total War or Napolean Total War for really cheap (like 90% off as they did for Rome Total War). A guy can hope, no?
It's why I bought it too
That's my MO as well.

FYI to all... Shuggy is a fantastic little platform/puzzler. I already owned it but bought the bundle anyhow.
Indie royale is just meh for me. I can't even remember the last bundle I bought from them.
Last one for me was the April Fool's Bundle with Defense Grid.
Indie royale is just meh for me. I can't even remember the last bundle I bought from them.
I can't, either. They seem to enjoy offering just enough for people to consider buying, but I'm an impoverished recent grad with bills and student loans. That much for Hector (that's all I'm interested in) means less I can do on weekends. It's like a gallon of gas, but still, the current Gala is much more appealing than this.

Bought the bundle when it was at 4.90 and paid 5.00 to help keep the number down... a minute later it is at 5.10.

Worth it though, I didn't own a single game in this bundle, and it unlocked a bundle reward for me.

Yay, I won one of the many Rome Total War keys. Yay, I didn't have to spend a dollar!

EDIT: Now I won't see any of the Total War giveaways so my page is super cleaned up, Yay!

Someone already used it, although I probably shouldn't have tried it anyway. The comments above make it seem worse than Revelations...

I bought the bundle for Shuggy and maybe Hector but I love my shot of bad games :D.

Already own Hector, Chime, and Shuggy. Looks like this one is a pass for me; don't think I'll dole out $5+ just for Desura keys of the same and DHSG and Network.. Though if anyone doesn't need their Desura keys... (Thanks, Tsel!)

Also, GetGames has their next bundle thing going: http://www.getloadedgo.com/

Choose two games from Binary Domain, Batman Arkham City GOTY, Men of War Assault Squad GOTY, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, Stronghold 3 Gold Edition, and Civilization V and pay $15 for the pair.

The site text mentions Steamworks keys for all but Batman which specifies "DRM: Keycode activation"

Am I blind and/or stupid? How do you get steamgifts to not display games you already own?

Oh sure they just *have* to go do that the day after I, finally, picked up Binary Domain for $8 (GMG). I'd be interested in Batman AC:GOTY (though I'm not quite sure I've gotten over the 3-activation limit issue). I own Civ V, Stronghold 3 reportedly sucks. I'm really not sure about the others there. Isn't Men of War in the upcoming 1C pack on Amazon?
Am I blind and/or stupid? How do you get steamgifts to not display games you already own?
I second this. Does it have to be games you've won? 'Cause that's never happened for me.
Am I blind and/or stupid? How do you get steamgifts to not display games you already own?
By using this Add-on. It is great and quite customizable. Endless scrolling, much smaller giveaways, highlighting wishlist games, enter giveaways without opening the page, and not seeing your sync library and any other games you don't want to. If I didn't have it I would hate steamgifts so, so much more.
Am I blind and/or stupid? How do you get steamgifts to not display games you already own?
I believe you have to use a Firefox / Chrome add-on to accomplish this.

EDIT: Kaltic ninja'd me!

I feel stupid still, because I've had that addon installed for awhile but still don't see a way to filter what I already own from being shown.

Does this image help by any chance? You also need to sync your account so it is up to date if you haven't.

EDIT: And I'm not sure if syncing works all that well with retail games on your account so you still, if I'm not mistaken, have to just ignore those.

That pictures explains it all. Thank you very much. I never clicked or at least remember clicking on that as I didn't think it was an option in of itself. Thank you very much Kaltic, I was blind and stupid on this :D

I recommend Binding of Isaac at this price. I think there might be demo on Newgrounds where you can play a level or two. It's strange to describe; It takes place in randomized Zelda 1 style dungeons, but it doesn't play like Zelda at all. It's simple shooting and avoiding enemies, but also collecting randomized items and powerups, of which there are hundreds. The items you get are different practically every time you play; That's probably what makes the game interesting to me. The graphics are a bit simplistic, but I've certainly seen worse for more than the change it costs right now.

Wondering how much I'd spend for Shogun II. I own and love all of the other Total War games on Steam... But the ninjas and junk doesn't do much for me and the HUGE download is really off-putting.

At 87 hours, I have twice as much time played in Binding of Isaac as I do on any other Steam game. One of the best games I've ever played.
Wondering how much I'd spend for Shogun II. I own and love all of the other Total War games on Steam... But the ninjas and junk doesn't do much for me and the HUGE download is really off-putting.
I am probably a bit biased because Shogun was the first Total War I ever played, and it only took me a bunch of years to realize it was the first Total War in the franchise... for some reason I always thought it was Medieval, so when I saw they were making Shogun II I was insanely excited. I just started playing it and it is quite good, but then again it plays almost like every other Total War.

Honestly if you are on edge about it you almost might as well just wait for Rome II. Since the original Rome was the big change up in the franchise I wouldn't be surprised if we see some big things out of its sequel. And no adding the Naval battles was not as big of a change as Rome because like every game with a Navy they are still pretty useless.

Last note on the Total War franchise... Bring back an option for the campaign map to play out like it did in the old days. I'm not say revert to that style, but the option would be great. It is like the switch from Star Wars Battlefront 1 to 2. I liked the new campaign map, but sometimes I like to actually finish a campaign.

Hey Humble Bundle 2 purchasers, Cortex Command has been added on steam, and as such there is a steam key for all of us on our key pages. So if you think you might have it, make sure to check.

Edit: This includes those who own HIB 2 because they bought HIB 3. So if you own both, you should have two keys, one on each page.

hmmm, think i need to go take a nap. I was thinking of the one that activates on Desura and gives you a Steam key. My brain is too tired to remember what I just read lol.

I don't know what's going on with my Humble profile, but I've used the same email address to buy every bundle, but I don't have links for 1 and 3 tied to my account. I bought them and have them redeemed, even, just no links. Time to contact support, I guess.

Also, to keep up with sunasun, I'll trade Cortex Command for the Hector series. ;)

Maybe you need to manually connect your bundles with your account. I know there is a button on the screen to do this if they aren't attached to an account.

I'm actually going to play DHSGiT from the bundle, because I'm curious of how bad it is, and not have to spend additional money on it.

That would explain the game all of a sudden showing up on Steamgifts; I was bidding and wasted 60 points before it hit me that I had received this game from a humblebundle.
