Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V6! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

With the V6 Thread, we're trying a slight formatting change. We used to list every possible Steam deal in the OP, but they change too frequently for anyone to keep up with (even in the Wiki format). So now, we'll leave regular minor sales out of the OP. This post will keep track of major sales (Winter sale, etc.), Steam deals available through other sellers (like Amazon), Preorder deals, and Group Buys.

I would still greatly appreciate help from you folks at home in keeping this smaller-scale OP up-to-date. This is a Wiki post so anyone can contribute. Wiki instructions:
Thanks for your help! If you notice a sale has ended, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see something does need to be added, then kindly add it to the list.

Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.


Free Stuff - List needs updating with F2P games!
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card. The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Who could have predicted the demand for Rogue Warrior keys?

I'd love to be able to listen to the conference call between GamersGate and Bethusda in a few hours...(you sold our catalog for how much?!?!)
 
Sounds like it's a good thing that I did persist in getting keys for my second bundle (rather than waiting for the site to speed up.)
 
Bummer to have missed out on that. Perhaps if I'd been putting the right username in earlier when it was taking forever to send stuff through I might have gotten one. Oh well.
 
Well I'll leave this here. If anyone ended up with an extra Skyrim key they are willing to part with I'd be willing to go $10 on it. Send my a pm and I'll respond back this afternoon.
 
Any SIMS players with most of the EXP packs mind telling me which packs are better? I am gonna buy the Showtime bundle before the deal ends but I also wanna get some of the smaller packs.

Purchased. It came out to $57.52 I think for me.

So at any rate. I've got 2 complete packs and I'm breaking up my 3rd pack (mostly to my brother for Xmas gifts since i have about half the games).

Not gonna try and MAKE (too much) money. I'm gonna wait a day or 2 to see if GG revokes the keys from me, before I part with them.

I've been at a pending deal and unable to activate my email address for around ten hours. So... that's a shame. Interest is low. Morale is lower. But it's the only interesting sale-type thing that's happened so far.

damn, shouldn't have waited to redeem the rest of the keys. managed to get Skyrim and Dishonoured before getting locked out. so getting those 2 games for $28 is still a good deal, right? right???

To me that sounds like if you bought it you're clear, just need to wait until January to get the keys.

Thanks for the answer. Yeah, in the craziness of yesterday my transaction went as a gift and I couldn't gift it to my own account in time. Today I did and only to find that. Guess I'll have to wait :whistle2:k

Try to do the "verify email" part again, and check your spam folder.

I got to the same step last night and never got an email from them. Did it again this morning and had an email in my junk mail after about a minute. From there, it was smooth sailing until I got to the part where they're all out of keys and won't have any until mid-January.

That's what it sounds like to me, too.
 
Strange, even though the deal was dead, I was able to "complete transaction" from my previous attempts last night. Now just like soulkyo, I see 2 Bethesda collections in my library with the same error. If I can wait until January for the keys, I'll still be somewhat happy (only somewhat, since I bought both of them as Christmas gifts as friends... I'm sure they can be patient though!).

I do have my 2 Stardock collections in my library with working serial keys though, even though that collection seems to have gone back up to $50. Thanks to Motoki for the idea of using the B3G1F deal on these!

I do feel bad though that I took advantage of a pricing glitch that will probably end up getting GG into a lot of trouble. I didn't like the whole EA Origin debacle a few months ago, but this wasn't as apparent (my friend continually stated it wasn't a price glitch since the discount was displayed plainly on the front page). Hopefully GG doesn't go out of business from this or even refuse to give good sales anymore :(

Just got up to see that my order is still alive and pending. Now I'm just curious if I can actually put it through once the bundle comes back. 99.9% sure it shouldn't work, but this is Gamersgate.

All of the smaller EXP packs are complete ripoffs. The best regular expansions are Ambitions, Pets and Generations. I'm not sure about Seasons... haven't had a chance to play that one yet!
 
Am I missing something?

Sleeping Dogs is £10.19 today (66% off) at GreenManGaming. With voucher code GMG30-DPLIM-DN831 you can knock another 30% off the balance to bring it down to £7.14.

I'm ok with that. But then they're offering a £3 cashback?! That would bring the effective price down to £4.14. For Sleeping Dogs.

EDIT: Update: Colons: I took the plunge, it says my refund will take 3-5 working days (which effectively means January). Not bothered about the timing, so long as it comes in. If legit then this is a a cracking deal.

Or even worse, refuse to give the steam keys to the ones like us who bought the bundle but didn't get the keys on time :shock:
 
*blinks* Holy crap. After 7 hours last night, I thought I had failed to get my order through. Technically, this was true. (I was doing other stuff, like playing video games while waiting the 5 minutes everytime I tried to get a page to load).

However, I had saved my order #'s, and was able to get back to Gamersgate this morning and get a successful purchase processed!

2x Bethesda packs and 2x Stardock Packs are now mine! Muahahahahahaha!

Now to wait until january to actually get my keys... *sigh*

Moral of the story is, if you have order #'s saved, you might still be able to get them to honor the deal.

Also, I have a second order that appears to be valid for another 2x/2x. Any idea if I might be able to complete that order as well? I wonder if it'd be worth it...

Finally got my email verification my Gamersgate. I discovered that I managed to get 2 orders to go through at some point. I paid for mine already, but I have a 2nd order still pending..... decisions decisions decisions

Yeah, that'd probably be the worst outcome. However, arent' Dishonored and Skyrim Steamworks? There's no way they CAN'T give codes for those games. So I'd guess that we'll see Steam codes for all the games eventually.
