Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V6! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

With the V6 Thread, we're trying a slight formatting change. We used to list every possible Steam deal in the OP, but they change too frequently for anyone to keep up with (even in the Wiki format). So now, we'll leave regular minor sales out of the OP. This post will keep track of major sales (Winter sale, etc.), Steam deals available through other sellers (like Amazon), Preorder deals, and Group Buys.

I would still greatly appreciate help from you folks at home in keeping this smaller-scale OP up-to-date. This is a Wiki post so anyone can contribute. Wiki instructions:
Thanks for your help! If you notice a sale has ended, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see something does need to be added, then kindly add it to the list.

Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.


Free Stuff - List needs updating with F2P games!
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card. The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Three 50% off Flash Deals. Not even AAA titles? In the meantime I pick up Sleeping Dogs for $6 at GMG?

Oh Steam, how far you've fallen.

Maybe Steam will be content being a nice client and suite of services, leaving all the bothersome cash transactions to those "other" online retailers.

I thought Phil's crazy was a nice offset to the Team Meat guys, especially the one who wanted to pay off his parents house. They were sweet, Phil was sour. Jonathan Blow was the one where I was like "My god, does this dude hear himself?"
 
Maybe they're hoping that the mid-January date will discourage most buyers and they'll end up returning the bundle. I wouldn't put it past GG to exaggerate the date to recover from a costly mistake LOL

Also the 33% off X-Com as a daily is pretty LOL when it was $20 on Gamefly not long ago...

Is anyone else's go to first new post button taking them to old content (right now, about 500 posts back)? Makes it really hard to follow the thread when I have to remember where I was at.
 
I managed to get all my keys yesterday except the ones for Rogue Warriors and The Demon's Force. I'm willing to trade some keys for Fallen Enchantress.

PS: my goodness, Bethesda made a ton of money yesterday.

I thought when he was raging it was a little hard to watch, but the bits where he was about ready to kill himself made me feel for the poor guy. I don't think Phil Fish quite knows how to express his emotions in a way a normal human being should.

EDIT: On second thought, you're probably right as GG will have to pay whatever price structure they had in place. So, I redact...yes. :)

Is $18.74 the cheapest for The Walking Dead? I want it right now to play it but I have a feeling that it will go on a Flash Sale.

Well assuming the 319.00 was the original intended price, they lost around 290.00 per sale. They're not going to have a merry Christmas. I mean, if they sold a thousand packs at a 290.00 loss... Ouch.

Sale price was around 90 I believe, that's still ~65 each though

It's frequently 12.50, and probably will be before the end of the sale.

Just sold my two giftable copies of Bethesda bundle. Now how does it work when I buy multiple copies that aren't for gifting only? I have two extra packs, but there isn't a gift option like there is on the giftable-only copies. Is this because I already requested serial keys for the first bundle I bought?
 
I'm so bummed I have no stuff to buy this year (already bought everything) that I just bought The Sims 3 and an xpac. Instant buyers remorse.

Care to explain? I also have a collection that has no games attached - I figured they'd just show up later when they released the serials. They can't charge you for something and not give you anything for it.

I don't remember where, but I picked it up for $9.99 at some point. It's in my Steam so I assume it was there?

Thanks for the heads up. Honestly, should've been done from the start.

For those talking about the Sleeping Dogs DLC, the base game alone is definitely worth it. The DLC is primarily cosmetic, only stuff I can really see worth buying are the DLC with extra missions but they ain't even important really. You can put in a good 20-30 hours on the base game. Incredibly fluid with a controller as well. Can't imagine on KB/M lol. Either way crazy ass deal, $11 then $4-6 cash/credit back. I don't regret getting it for $16 flat last month, had a ton of fun with it.

also voted Primordia. will be using $5 credit on Hotline at Amazon
 
Looking forward to hearing about what you guys buy on the cheap with your $6 GMG credit while simultaneously getting Sleeping Dogs for an "effective" $6 less because of the credit.

I have Magic 2013 on XBLA but I got one of the DLC packs from Raptr for free on PC....yeah, I'll wait for 75% off. Didn't hesitate on Unmechanical, though.

Hotline Miami is basically a lock for at least a 50% (maybe 60%?) daily during the sale, so please vote Primordia.

For a price of 90$, GG would've made a decent profit. My guess would be that they have to pay around 75$ for each bundle they sold, so they probably lost around 50 dollars for each pack.

I assume you mean like me, where I bought two non-gift bundles. It'll just show up as two seperate "show serial key" buttons.

Sad my Bethesda pack never went through after 5 hours but hey I have a huge backlog that needs to be finished. Just started going through and completing games then tagging them with a category 'Completed' So I actually start finishing my backlog and not adding to it. haha.

The first bundle I bought had a listing of all the games it came with, this one just showed the header with no games listed under it. I assume when they fixed the glitch they changed the collection contents to stop any more keys from being sold.

This seems to be what's happening to me, too. I bought two non-giftable copies about an hour ago and I can't do anything with them in my inventory. I don't even get the extra listing that Neuro5i5 mentioned...
 
I managed to get most of my Bethesda keys from Gamersgate last night. I only missed getting Rage. But now it's impossible to get it until January. Crap.

Stupid need for sleep.

Huh. I wonder how that's going to work. Because mine says that keys will be available in january, but there aren't any games. I guess I'll wait and see - if they won't give me games, they'll have to give me a refund one way or another eventually.
 
I'm also voting for Primordia, tho I haven't played any of the Wadjet Eye games I own yet. As others have said, Hotline Miami will get a daily, and use of Motorhead's Ace Of Spades doesn't give you that much credit.

That's not too bad. Rage isn't a bad game, but of that pack, I highly doubt it would have been among the first played.

I had to gift my copy to myself this morning (couldn't get it to go through last night) and I see nothing but the bundle picture in my game list. No list of games, keys or anything but my email to claim the gift did indicate that they were out of keys. Hopefully the game list will show up in my library when they get more keys.

Edit: And you know, my problem is I just get greedy. I'm 8 games away from 400, I'll probably never play half of them, but I find myself sifting through the developer bundles going... "Well, I might enjoy Virtua Tennis 4 on the PC."
