Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V6! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

With the V6 Thread, we're trying a slight formatting change. We used to list every possible Steam deal in the OP, but they change too frequently for anyone to keep up with (even in the Wiki format). So now, we'll leave regular minor sales out of the OP. This post will keep track of major sales (Winter sale, etc.), Steam deals available through other sellers (like Amazon), Preorder deals, and Group Buys.

I would still greatly appreciate help from you folks at home in keeping this smaller-scale OP up-to-date. This is a Wiki post so anyone can contribute. Wiki instructions:
Thanks for your help! If you notice a sale has ended, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see something does need to be added, then kindly add it to the list.

Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Steam Sales - Updated 1/22

CAG Threads Featuring Steam Games on Sale Elsewhere - Updated 1/9

Preorder Deals - Updated 1/10
Group Buy Deals - Updated 1/9/13

Free Stuff - List needs updating with F2P games!
There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Past Special Sales

Visit www.steamgamesales.com to check previous sale prices on Steam games. We do keep track of some older sales here though:

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

Steam's explanation and list of Steam-activatable keys

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card. The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

You should the game is easily worth more that that. I think of it as a hidden gem.
What's this about Gametap?
Nothing new. A long while ago there was a survey you could fill out that was as much fun as crawling through Hell with busted kneecaps. In return you got a $5 voucher for Gametap. Some people are just now remembering that they got it those many months ago.

Just realized the original fallout collection is at 66% off for 6.79 again.
I now have something to hope goes 75% off to 5$
edit: I forgot I own fallout 1 on gog (when they gave it away free)... I will still buy the collection for 5$

I'm told that Interplay has the rights to the series through 2013. They'll probably mark it down to 75% off just before they lose the rights. But up to now, they have stubbornly refused to go as high as 75% off. So I would not count on it to happening before the 2013 Autumn sale.

Yeah it just gives me someone to look for sense I pretty much got everything I've wanted so far. its been 7$ like 3-4 times already so there is a slight chance. wiki says through all that legal crap with Bethesda they have rights to sell them till Dec 31, 2013.

Team17 needs to bring Armageddon "back" to the store (also Ubisoft with Rayman 3).
So funny how much rage GG generates.

People angry at not getting in on a price glitch.
People angry at getting in on it, but not getting their keys and now getting a refund.
People angry at the opportunity to get a game at far below market value, but higher than what the seller got it for.

Hope you angry people are all taking your blood pressure meds.
This post makes me angry.
"Rage $7"

Yea, great deal!

Awe crap, it went up a dollar!
Haha, I like how one of the items NewEgg has on their clearance deal is Lego Universe for $9.99 - a game you can't even play anymore. What a steal!
hmm really on the fence about getting LA Noire and the compplete one
If you want it because you think it's going to be a game like GTA or Saints Row, don't get it.

If you want it because you want a game that's essentially an open world adventure game with an amazing attention to detail, fantastic soundtrack, and decent story, you'll most likely enjoy it.

Does anyone know if Heroes of Annihilated Empires is any good? I remember wanting it forever ago when it was a box game...I didn't even know it was on steam, just stumbled across it now.

oops

thought i had the steam trading forum topic up. my bad.

anyways, im normally pretty good at limiting myself to $20 a steam sale, but this time im nearing $75 towards my steam library this winter sale.

So... I know I'm late on this, but I've been playing Coconut Queen for the last four hours.

I like it.

But I'm a little disappointed that in the objectives of this mission I'm forced to bow to the whims of a ghost.

My tired, unfocused mind added an extra 'l' in one of the words here that made it seem like an altogether different mission. Now I'm going to sleep. Someone please save me a 95% off Last Day of Work bundle during the next GG glitch.

Uhg. Just dumped a *bunch* of money into updating my Sims 3. That game is so very addicting. Also picked up Giana on listening to the music alone.
Still think it's way overpriced. but 50% doesn't come along too often.
Probably gonna grab PuzzleQuest for $2.50, any game-breaking bugs or anything to put me off?
Nope, I experienced none in my ~40 hours with it. Yes, it took that long for me to finish it, and I was actually considering playing through again as a different class. It's THE best casual game to me personally, and is incredibly long for what it is. Having said that, I enjoyed every minute of it. A word of advice: try each class before you commit, because for many it'll be too similar to play through with multiple classes. Completely worth the $2.49 they're asking.

PuzzleQuest rules. I have physical PC and DS copies of it. I also have its successor, PuzzleQuest Galatrix, which is set in space, and isn't quite as good.

Thanks guys, I played it on PSP a bit and enjoyed it but I remember there was a few bugs so good to hear the PC version isn't plagued by these.

Are Hot Dish, Mahjongg Investigations, Dr Daisy Pet Vet, Are you Smarter than a 5th grader and Mission Runway worth 2.50?
I briefly considered Driver San Francisco, but I probably wouldn't be playing it right away and it feels like that's about due for a base price drop. I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped to $20 the day after the sale.

I'll wait until the Summer sale on that one.
**** REGIONAL PRICING KLAXON ****

Driver:SF is £3.24 in the UK.

************************************

p.s. can't help with this one as I'm stuck at work :(
Do we have any Euro CAGs who would be willing to help with that (and who can get in on that deal, of course)?
It's still quite pricey in Euroland, the UK is where the good price is.

There's a few of us dotted around this forum but you might have to tempt the quieter ones out of hiding. Try luring them out with a Toad In The Hole. Maybe some Black Pudding.

I spotted this, checked back what it was about, and found out it was an English deal. Sorry, I'm Dutch.

Pardon my ignorance, I be geographically challenged.
Okay, where's the hidden crazy late night deal of the day!?!?
I am always disappointed when I go to Gamersgate and the site loads up with no problems. :)

Seems like they intentionally cycled repeats for the first week or so and I guess the second half will have heavily cycled repeats of its own.

I'm Praying that this 2nd 1/2 of the sale starting today really turns this around, but my hope is low. I really think they should've made it 9 Daily Deals a day, 6 just seems so low. I believe it was 6 for the Thanksgiving sale, and that was a small sale.
Seems like they intentionally cycled repeats for the first week or so and I guess the second half will have heavily cycled repeats of its own.
I really do wonder why they chose to disappoint for this sale. Maybe this means... Half-Life 2: Episode 3 is coming in January! :hot:
I just think it's a simple matter of them being so established they can get away with the prices they set.
Then why not do this in the past sales? Even more so, why give games away (last winter sale)? It just doesn't make sense to me that they'd go "all-out" and then so abruptly put an end to what we'd all come to love and sort-of expect.

Business will be business, I suppose.

Well, they weren't as established! But yeah it really does baffle me they didn't have a wishlist giveaway or any sort of promotion. Just strikes me as lazy/apathetic.
I feel like we just sit around here with beers waiting to talk shit about the next set of flash sales lol.
For realz man, too many 50 and 66 percentages. Too few 75 percentages to my liking :p
I feel like we just sit around here with beers waiting to talk shit about the next set of flash sales lol.
Those flash deals better learn to stay off my lawn!

That level with all the rocks in CQ was awful.

Getting 3 palaces and a waterpark in after having filled the map completely already was incredibly frustrating.
Guys is it safe to assume 50 percent off is the cheapest CS GO will get to in this sale?
Anyone? I want to buy it lol
Anyone? I want to buy it lol
I'm pretty sure it won't get lower if 50% is a flash/daily percentage off. So if that's the price you're willing to pay: go for it.
Anyone? I want to buy it lol
While it's possible that it'll be a higher discount, history would suggest that it won't be any cheaper during this sale.
