Seriously? PvZ2 is coming to iOS only?
as a free2play game no less, which if it's anything like PvZ1 means that you will either have to spend hundreds of hours in story mode collecting enough coins to unlock the minigames/survival/puzzle modes, or pony up more than the game sells for complete on other platforms. Still pretty pissed at EA for this :bomb:

Did I miss any sale on Go Home Dinosaurs? It completely went over my head (having a newborn at home is messing up with my sleep).

To anyone considering saving their cards/drops: Don't.

The trading card system is going out of beta soon, and prices are going to sink even further with everyone and their mother (perhaps literally) selling cards. Best to sell now.

So would you think is not worth to wait in case Valve decides to implement a new function with the Badges or Steam level in the sale? as per coupons, discounts, whatever on the comming sale? like a trine 1 badge gives you 1% discount in Trine 2 xD I kinda don't see much profit in selling my Offspring Fling cards and make like 1$ out of 5 cards, could be better to craft the damn badge in case it's worth.

I could be wrong, true, but with the market already flopping, and a massive new influx of cards going to be coming into the market, I severely doubt prices are going to go up or even stay the same. Even if badges get more useful somehow, you're still likely better off selling now and then buying cards later with the money you make from selling now.

Call it wild speculation, but I could see all cards losing another 50% in value within the week.

was $2.49 for a day last week. Should check enhanced steam if you want to see past sales ;)
TBH I didn't even know what Go Home Dinosaurs was until recently. I usually look into the games on sale to decide if it's worth it or not, and this one went completely over my head, even with me checking into all games that have trading cards.

I agree, sell all cards now if you don't plan on crafting badges with them. Cards have only been decreasing past couple weeks and there's no reason to think once EVERY steam user is able to get them prices won't crash even harder.

This, but it's still smart to sell your cards now EVEN if you want to craft badges. Why? Sell your cards now for more, use the money you make now to buy the same cards back for cheaper later.

Edit: Well, that's crap.

http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/06/04/plants-vs-zombies-2-announced-exclusive-to-ios-devices-for-now/

I'll wait for Steam version, surely. I guess I'll download the game and play what I can for free, but I can't imagine only playing this on my iPad.
I guarantee you that they will eventually be releasing PvZ2 on every platform they possibly can. EA loves money entirely too much not to do that. If the PC port winds up staying F2P though, I'd expect it to be Origin exclusive so that they can avoid sharing any micro-transaction profits with Valve.

There is also this coming out on PC/Xbox if you aren't aware: http://www.popcap.com/plants-vs-zombies-garden-warfare

yeah you're right, I really don't see them rising up the price so this would be the moment of selling them.

Don't listen to these clowns.

Horde your cards.

Buy more cards to sell later at bigger prices!

The value is just going up, up, up!

More people in the program means more buyers!

You'd be a sucker to sell now.

I'm skeptical. Robot Devil's advocate here: There are 650,000 users in the card beta and at least 6,000,000 Steam users overall. I get the feeling that many of those not in the beta care less about closely following games than they care about the social exhilaration they get from playing dress-up with make-believe knick-knacks.

Those people are going to need cards to craft badges when they want silly stuff from their games -- they'll need the other half of the set. If Valve conducts a card-focused event immediately, people who already own cards will have a head start.

Mobile-gaming yuppies don't follow stuff like this until it goes viral in an obviously contrived way. They have money, unlike the destitute cart-pushers comprising the beta who collect cards instead of bottles and cans. If Steam pushes it real good on the front page for a while, who's to say that all those Team Fortress 2 and dota 2 dunderheads won't want to show off their Steam level to their swagless brethren? There's an Angry Birds game on Steam and, shit, if that gets cards...

My 27 cents on the Card Market unbetaing:

People who are interested in using trading cards as free money via the market have already opted into the beta.  Once everyone is included, there is a chance we might see increased demand as people with no interest in selling cards find they are only one or two short of completing a badge.  All you have to do is look at any mildly gaming-related internet forum during one of the major sales to realize how un-savvy the vast majority of Steam users are.  This makes me think we could see more potential buyers than sellers.

Wouldn't advise betting on it though, I have the economic sense of a bankrupt koala.

well I jumped on the Pinball FX train and am loving the free table so far, even if my score is less than terrible at the moment. All you who haven't downloaded it definitely should, if only to raise my friend super score and make me a pinball wizard ;)

Honestly I think this conversation is too narrow, and focused on the needs of "free money" junkies like yourselves.

You are missing the bigger picture... Steam TCG leaving beta just before the Summer Sale.  The professed love of the 2011 activity-oriented Steam Summer Camp.  The recent expansion of Steam badges and levels.

My inner illuminati says these events are connected.

I expect the discounts to be mediocre under the guise that people will have X amount of 'free' steam dollars in their wallets and will think: 'Eh, it's only a 50% discount but I'm just spending GabeN bux.'

seems sega is putting sonic games on sale on every platform, as XBL and PSN are also having sales. Has anyone played Adventure 2 recently. I remember loving the Chao garden, but have heard a lot of different opinions on how it's aged. Also, no Sonic & Knuckles makes me sad

EDIT: nevermind, looks like Sonic 3 includes S&K \\:D/

EDIT 2: figures it wouldn't be on Steam :oldman:

I agree!

I think there's high potential for an activity where you have a set period of time to craft a particular badge, which could definitely spike the prices of cards for that particular game. At the very least, I can't imagine Valve not holding some kind of periodic event to increase the perceived value of trading cards on the community market.

Yes it does.

I've been wrestling with the idea of pre-ordering it all day.

I wish they had a pre-order deal up on Steam (it's been greenlit and I believe the steam build is pretty much done), because I'd be on that with my wallet money in an instant.

from personal experience lower card count games the card values are either not decreasing or actually increasing and that could be due to lower player bases also.  Newer games also seem to be high until the market increases.

Games that have common cards at approximately a dollar:

Jagged Alliance

Strike suit

Sanctum hd

Zombie Driver Hd

How i have been playing it is sell these higher value cards and then buy TF2, Magicka, and other games that the cards are almost worthless for.

it's $10 for the steam key if you order it on their website in the next 45 mins

it's lauching at $15

good enough for me

Yeah Rogue Legacy looks awesome... but it's already using the humblestore so it could be bundled later - although there are humblestore games that haven't been - I just can't spend $10 on an indie game!

Collect all the cards in the series. Click craft. Done.
Thanks for this. I don't have any full sets yet so haven't seen the "craft" option. Appreciate the answer and sorry I took a while to respond...ended up being away for a good long while. (And yes, I am in the beta and am aware of it. Have like half-sets in about 5 games now. Hadn't seen a crafting option anywhere so got curious about it).

Thanks again.

i waited forever for FTL to get bundled and it still hasn't so i got it on amazon for $5 a few weeks ago

if i could go back i would gladly pay 10 for it, i'm done peering into my crystal ball looking for bundles all the time, even if it would save me a few bucks here and there. i'm just gonna drop codes to duplicates unexpectedly like bird shit on cag/twitter and buy games i want to play when they come out.

I might have missed somthing.
Picked up Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Sonic Spinball. Thanks for the head's up.

Fun fact, these games don't increase your game count. The entire Sega Genesis collection apparently counts as one game no matter how many Genesis games you have.

i waited forever for FTL to get bundled and it still hasn't so i got it on amazon for $5 a few weeks ago

if i could go back i would gladly pay 10 for it, i'm done peering into my crystal ball looking for bundles all the time, even if it would save me a few bucks here and there. i'm just gonna drop codes to duplicates unexpectedly like bird shit on cag/twitter and buy games i want to play when they come out.

Tried the first one, and it turned out that that I already owned it. Then I tried the second one and discovered that it was DLC for the first game. I didn't already own that, so it redeemed. I would imagine that the third one is DLC as well, but I'll leave that one.

Thanks.

first one lurked. I know it's bad form to complain about free games, but in the future could you maybe list the name of the game? I'd hate to redeem something I have no interest in playing and have someone who actually wants it miss out. Thanks anyway though :)

Nice Amazon Sonic deals, but for those (like me) who have managed to avoid buying any Sonic games - you might be better off hoping for a 75% off on this: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/26498/

Unlike any of Amazon's bundles, it's a truly complete Steam Sonic pack and the price is pretty incredible. Actually even with Amazon's current discounts they're still only $10 less than this bundle at its normal price.

well now I can't buy those amazon games without feeling like a bad CAG. Is there some way to add that to my wishlist that I'm missing?

There's no "Add to Wishlist" feature for digital downloads.

And as for Steam, you can't add bundles to your wishlist. Only individual games. jshackles, some help here? ;)

Holy Shit, that would be $10 after a 75% discount! Which might actually happen during the summer sale. I just spent $4 on four genesis games that are in that pack. There's still another 6 games in that pack that I don't own.

Oh why did I let asheskitty lead me down that road of temptation? Curse that wench!

You can't wishlist collections on steam... just wishlist one game to tag it imo.

That is a nice collection of Sonic games for someone who has *none* on PC.  (Honestly, I hope a buy would be used to them on console at least otherwise that's quite a leap of faith.

Personally, a-la-carte is exactly what I wanted (Since I own a bunch).

Sonic Racing Transformed is in there too!

Actually I don't even know if Sega would be willing to discount such an already-discounted pack by so much, but then again they have been pretty generous in the past.

And yes I already own all the Genesis games and Adventure 1 & 2 on their original consoles, and I've played most of the others at various points, but I want 'em on Steam dangit.

ok, thanks for answer, that was what I figured but hoped otherwise.

It's been posted in the groupees thread, but incase anyone hasn't seen, the final BaB6 bonus is Woodle Tree. It's on Greenlight and Desura for $2, looked ok until I watched a lets play. Not sure what I expected given the quality of the bundle, but still...
