New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

They finally came to their senses and realized you don't need an encore day when you repeat things three times already through daily, flash, and votes.
No one claps for an encore when the concert is shit.

Anyone expect Volgarr or Rogue Legacy getting any cheaper soon?
Yes to both. But can you really afford to wait? In this economy? What if you die before you get t-- VOLGARR HERE TO CRUSH

So is the MTG 2014 Special Edition worth the extra $3.xx dollars over the standard edition?

What are the foil upgrades used for?
No, no, no. Just get standard. Foils are just like foils in the real game (and Steam cards): shiny, but useless.

Got $5.25 by the end, if my estimates on foreign sales are right.
When they email me the notification that my item has sold, they always give me the amount in USD.

I have 100% in gta4(and all other gta games), and I found that to be fun since it brings me to places which I would never go myself.
I completed the 200 pigeons twice, and it was an unbearable chore both times. I shouldn't have done it the 2nd time but they had added trophies after release and I wanted to get all the single player ones.

C'mon guys. I'm out and about on a smart phone and it came up in a conversation. I apologize for asking and harshing your New Years vibe.

At the same time, thanks to everyone for responding.

brave new world for $10 isn't bad but I know it will be $5 either this summer or winter 2014 sale and i have barely started gods and kings.

Walking Dead 2 is going for under $12 in the trade thread, I can't help feeling like I should wait for $10... I'm not going to play it til all of the episodes are released. Last time I bought it for $10 when there was one episode left to release, hoping I can do something like that again this time.

So, anyone else have Steam running like crap?  It seems all week that accessing anything Steam (other than games) has been slow as molasses.  I didn't have the same problem at work accessing the web store.

Dang it wanted Agarest background for my steam page so bought up the rest of the cards i needed for about 1.20 or so, and get the one background that doesn't have a girl character on it....steam you fail me!!!!!

LOL, I bought Sniper Elite Nazi Zombie Army on a whim (and because of Fox's praise of it) and played it for a bit.  I then realized it's a lot of fun & went to get my GF to show her.  Told her she should pick it up with some of her excess card money and  said 3 times we could play it co-op if she wanted & she said she wasn't interested.  I warn her again 15 mins before the sale ends.  She's not interested.

Half hour later she's back watching me play & said "Oh, this looks pretty good - maybe I should get it after all."  I tell her the sale is over & it's no longer $3.75 & she gets upset with ME.... I guess this year will be just like the last one. :p

Question: Why didn't you buy the background you wanted for $0.03?

Edit: Oh that game has expensive backgrounds...

Just looked up those backgrounds on the marketplace out of curiosity and holy crap one of them sells for over $20!

Tomorrow at 10am PST.

Anybody have any recommendations for hidden gems on the last day?
I'm sure it has been mentioned but I just noticed that all of the Bit.Trip games are 80-90% off. I will probably grab Runner 2 at least.

Also, Psychonauts is $2.50 and the Double Fine bundle is $7.00. I only really need Iron Brigade though which is 75% off and not in the bundle so I might grab it anyway.

Speaking of Agarest, I love this Steam store review of the game:

Okay bro, so let's say y'all wanna get fresh with an anime. Like, I ain't judging here, it's cool. If a dude wants to shag a cartoon then God bless his weird ♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥♥ed-up worldview. But then you gotta ask yourself "damn bro, how am I gonna make this foxy cartoon broad wanna handle my balls"? That is not an easy question, man, but this game provides you an answer. You gotta click the right buttons and say the answers to things. Then the anime gals will ♥♥♥♥in' dig your weird comma-sized ♥♥♥♥. They gonna be straight up riding it like the guy in that movie where the guy rides a bomb or whatever. Point is, this is without a doubt one of the most intriguing cartoon romance simulacrums out there. It's got all kinds of animes. The angry one, the boring one, the furry one, the other one. There is no limit to the depravity you can inflict upon yourself as you struggle to romance a cartoon. I guess you can also thrash some ♥♥♥♥ with a sword or whatever, maybe make an elf cast a spell. Elves ♥♥♥♥in' love spells. Can't get enough of them. And when you bang your favorite manga, you get to have a freakish nightmare-baby, like in Eraserhead, except instead of flippin' out and wrecking the lights, the baby just gets some stats and ♥♥♥♥, and then he has to marry an anime. Nobody ever said pimpin' was easy.

SCORE:
Graphics: 10/10. You will not BELIEVE the amount of anime underwear you're gonna be seeing here. You like pantyshots? We got'em, it's like a pantyshot discount warehouse. Sick.
Sound: 4/10. I dunno why, but everyone speaks in this really ♥♥♥♥ed up accent. It barely even matches what the dialogue text at the bottom says. Are the voice actors ♥♥♥♥ing British or something? Not cool, "mate".
Gameplay: 7/10. Your swords can level up, you can level up, your Anime Bangin' Factor can level up. Lots of levelling up, lots of swords, lots of hentais. Pretty nasty. The Jappies are still pervos.

FINAL SCORE: 8/10
YOU MIGHT LIKE THIS GAME IF...
You jerk off to anime pornos.

Pool Nation for $4.99.

It was up for a community vote, so there's an outside chance it could hit one of the next flash deals, but I grabbed it at this price. It looks gorgeous, has excellent control and ball physics, and a few unique game modes beyond the traditional 8/9 ball.

That being said, it IS a pool game. It's not going to win over anyone who hasn't previously enjoyed games from that genre. If you have though, it's pretty freakin' sweet.

Pool Nation and Pinball, all we need now is a CAG recreation room to complete the picture.
