Original Target Clearance Thread

Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to http://upcdata.info/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

Games that do not sell after being discounted are often donated to local Goodwills for sale at their retail stores, so check there when the clearance items dissappear.

This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.

My closest Target had them at 13.98 on Monday and I passed. Same price today. It's a good price, but I was holding out for lower since they're both recolors and I don't technically need them.

I went to the next closest Target since it's near a Best Buy I wanted to go to. They had them at 9.98. Sold!

All the DS Danny Phantoms disappeared. 13.98, then poof, gone.

Since Monday, the PC Cartoon Network All Stars dropped from 13.98 to 4.98. So did the crappy looking Charlotte's Web. Caesar IV is still 14.98. I'm waiting for a drop on that.
 
I think Dead or Alive 4 went back up to $29.99. When the clearance hit, I couldn't find one anywhere, and this week they get the Platinum Hits version in and it's scanning $29.99 now.
 
So Im hecka confused... How do you know if the games are on clearance? And are all the clearance prices nation wide or what? (someone help me please):cry:

If you have any DS games or PSP games(sealed) u want to sell to me that you got on clearance ill be happy to buy them. Cuz im retarded in finding clearance items.PM me or tell me wut u got.

If you go to the very first post in this Target Clearance thread, and read it, you will know how to try to find any clearance games at any Target you go to.

I'm assuming you're talking about the Monster 4x4: World Circuit game and not Excite Truck...
 
Saw a few 3rd party 360 controllers clearances for $14.98 today.
Sorry, don't remember the brand but some of them had designs on them.
 
I saw a few Wii accessories on clearance at the Super Target in Overland Park Kansas today (off 119th and I-35). They had the Will sling bags and Wii metal tins for $12.98.
 
Went to yet another Target, and quite honestly, no 360 games on clearance except for Kameo: DOAX2 is ringing up $59.99

The only discounted 360 games were LOTR BFME2 for $29.99, PSU for $29.99, and Sonic the Hedgehog for $49.99, and Kameo as well.

Now PC games, those are on clearance

I'd also gotten Ice Age 2 and Spongebob Squarepants for the Wii for $12.48 as well. And yes, 4x4 was Monster 4x4 world circuit; and the only real reason why I picked it up was the steering wheel.

Figure if I combine those with the Trade 2 get 1 Free, I can get Super Paper Mario for half price.
 
don't know if this has been found yet as well, but I picked up Splinter Cell: Double Agent for the PC for $19.98 (regular value is somewhere in the $40 range), My Target also had clearance copies of Dreamfall and Condemned.

Yeah, but don't count on that. There seems to be 3 levels of clearance and very few are on the 3rd (and best level).

The first level is no 360/Wii games on clearance with the possible exception of Kameo.

The second is to have Kameo on clearance along with just Barnyard and Chicken Little for the Wii.

The third is to have a bunch of games for both systems on clearance. But it seems to be the very rare Target that has this going on.

I've been to 6 or 7 Targets in my area and all but one have nothing except Kameo on clearance (and only that at a few of them - at the rest it is still $29.99). The one exception has Chicken Little and Barnyard, only, on sale. I specifically checked that GT Pro game as well as SpongeBob (and a few others) the other day and they were all still full price (checked by entering the DCPI in a floor scanner).
 
by the why, I saw alot of PD0 collectors editions that I couldnt scan behind the glass (there was no tag on them either) anyone know if thats on clearence?
 
Last night i went to target and i saw viewtuful joe for the ds. I scanned it and it said it wasnt in the system. I took it to the cashier and asked him to scan it. It didnt work. It looked like he was confused. lol. He went and looked at the price tag from the original barcode and said that was the price. (Oh and the cashier was in the electronics department). Is there anything I can do to get it cheaper, Like bringing it to the front of the store? Pls help.

(They also had a monster truck game for the wii that i scanned and it didnt show up in the system either.)

Ice Age 2 for the Wii was 24.98
SC DA for the Wii was 34.98

Several PC games clearanced
Tonfs of original XBOX memory cards
Lots of Wii accesories, such as stands and crap

All at the Valdosta, GA Target

[/quote]That was in fact the case. Only notable item on clearance (same as last week) was the sling bag for $17.48. I'm hoping that drops substantially or the other bag goes on clearance, wouldn't mind having one.
 
Snagged Condemed PC for 7.48. W00t. Love finding a good game for 8 bucks.

The Tustin, CA Target had a few games clearanced, but not priced as low as I'd seen elsewhere. Civ City and others for example were still above 20, and for some reason Dark Messiah of M&M was 19.99...which ether signals a price drop or a glitch, as none of the standard increments of clearance %'s would result in that price.

Didn't see any good console games clearanced (or left).

I was able to get the "name your price" Viewtiful Joe DS for $5.00 at my Target. I stopped by after work and went to the pharmacy (had to pick up a script for my wife). They asked me how much it was and I told them it was on clearance for $4.98. The guy then said "sounds good to me" and rung it up.
 
Nabbed one of several Dark Messiah of Might and Magics (PC) on clearance for 19.98. The game is not worth MSRP, but is definitely worth that.

The cashier has to be knowledgable enough to look up the lowest clearance price in the system, which that cashier probably wasn't if he didn't even recognize that the game was a clearance game that's no longer in the system. The problem with this is that Target employees usually won't sell you games that are no longer in the system, even if they know how to look up the lowest clearance price.

That just means all the other Targets will be clearancing out those titles as soon as they need the space...which couldn't be more than a month or two from now with all the spring releases coming out.

Looking through this thread, Dark Messiah was reported for $10 on 3/27. I checked 3 Targets this past Friday and 2 of them had DM for $10 and the other for $20.

I got Barnyard and Billy and Mandy, both for the Wii, for $12.98 each at the Target in Norfolk, VA. They had two of each left.
 
My Target has a boatload of iPod accessories for some reason (mostly speaker systems and alarm clocks, but they also have that movie player device that you insert a video iPod into). So far they aren't discounted all that much (maybe 20%) but I'm going to be keeping an eye on them.

My Target almost never has any decent console games on clearance. I did score a copy of the guide for Tomb Raider: Legend for $4.24.

None of them are from Apple BTW (and there aren't any actual iPods either), so I doubt it would have anything to do with that. These are probably just the ones that aren't selling.
 
i'd been passing on a lone copy of barnyard (wii) for a couple weeks now, but decided to bite at $12.98... the sticker had that price, but it kept ringing up in the computer as the last price, $34.98. then the cashier argued with me that the sticker must be wrong, because "the wii is brand new... there's no way a wii game would be on clearance so soon." after 25 minutes, and 4 different workers, i finally managed to snag it for $13... and they still thought that that price was wrong.

o_O - would ya mind grabbing one of those billy & mandys? PM me.
 
Found an $11 PC Dark Messiah just in case someone is seeking it!
Also found Chicken lil at $22 bought two and hoping for an Ice Age trade...love that squirrel!

Now to hunt a wave....

Most of the stores around me have not reduced anything but the wii sling bag and dog tags....
 
blakc GC controller was clearanced to 13-15ish
X-Box Live 12 month was down to 35ish
X-box headset - i think 14ish

and a bunch of Wii launch accessories were clearanced
